January JellyBean mummies

It's so quiet on here at night now, I'm starting to think all your babies are all sleeping thru , I've not even got beccy, susie and the other pg ladies on other thread to chat to! Where is everyone? Surely im not the only one up twice a night! Mind you she feeds for an hour so messing on my phone keeps me awake! Perhaps your LO's are quicker? X

I've not been on at night cuz im back to sleeping in my bed now, not the couch. And Im able to feed in the side lying position now too so I just sleep while he eats. Probably not soo good for the gas problems as i dont burp him at night because i fall asleep but i feel very well rested in the morning and he doesn;t get gassy until evenings and nights.

We were ona 3am feed which was keeping us up 2 hours but we've discovered gripe water for the afternoon/evening and I wake him at 12.30 (well its almost dream feed as he's so sleepy) means he goes 4-4.5 hours. Without the gripe water he has gas pains for 2-3 hours in the early hours.

The latch is startling!

Im going to start giving Quinn some Gripe water around dinner time to see if it helps with gas. he has been cluster feeding every night for almost a week from 4pm til midnight and i think hes not hungry but its gas pains and he thinks he needs to eat. Nights are good thou. We go to bed after midnight feed and he wakes at either 3am or 5am then i get him up when my daughter gets up at 8. And if you co-sleep I highly recomend learning the side lying position. its unconfortable at first but you learn real quick how to sleep while baby is eating and its amazing!!!!!

Kieran is ip every 3 hours to eat but I have to use 2 hands so can never post during feedings

Sarah, I have just noticed that you have Bryce's date of birth wrong on the front page. He was born on 27th. x

I feel so drained today! Bryce is getting so good at night and went to bed at 7:30 and woke up at 11:30, 3:30 and then 6:30 but during the day he is wanting to feed constantly, I can't put him down at all.

Eloise is starting to play up and every time I put her to bed for her afternoon nap or at night she keeps getting out of bed and shouting "i'm awake!" :growlmad:

I'm really not sure that a 2 year age gap is a good one lol :dohh:

sorted:thumbup: am trying to pimp up the front page

Laura - I would love to learn the side lying position but am so anxious to change anything just yet. Yay for you being able to do it!

I just keep doubting BFing. Not that I am going to quit but I always worry if he is getting enough. It's too bad that BFing started out so rough for us because now I question and doubt everything and it really gets me down. I just so want to feel confident in it. He'll b weighed this Friday again and he has another good gain then I hope I can finally relax about it.

Talking about swimming - at what age can babies go to a public pool? Would love to take Kieran swimming!

Know how you feel about BF, Jennifer is due a weigh on Thursday and I'm already anxious :hugs: She had put on over a lb at last weigh so she must be getting enough milk but she has a terrible latch and doesn't open her mouth so I worry all the time :( despite HV telling me that it doesn't have to be perfect as long as she is gaining.

You can take LO swimming at any age but I have decided to wait till after the first injections. I've been splashing around with Jennifer when she's in the bath with me and she loves it, she even kicks her legs :)

ETA Jennifer isn't a fan of the side lying but will do it atm as she has a cold so wants to be on me 24/7. I personally find it leaves me with a dead arm, so only really feed like it when needs must as neither Jennifer or I are big fans, saying this it definately has its benefits. Most babies can latch well as they can move their head more freely. Have a look online and have a go :)

i thought after the first injections you can take them swimming

where do you live?

Berkshire xxx

Unfortunately u are mostly 8 hours ahead of me! :(

Got the all clear from docs yday :happydance: Jus got to decide on birth control as dont want to go on pill as it can trigger depression for me.

But we won't be in September :happydance::happydance:

PS Hope Jennifer feels better soon!

Thanks hon :hugs:
Where do you live when in the UK? xx

My parents live in Yorkshire, but OH is from Manchester/Wigan area so that is where we lived when we were at home and where we will move back to.

Up for 6am feed but its been a slow one as shes not really wanted her bottle and taken ages to eat, and now shes wide awake! Only had 2 hours sleep in between as took her a while to get down earlier so v tired!!

As long as baby is wetting every diaper and pooping like 4-6 times a day, you know they are getting enough. Thats what i was always told. Also told not to go by weekly weigh ins. Sometimes they gain a little but other weeks they gain alot. As long as baby is gaining some that means things are going well. Although I do weigh Quinn every week too and today hes up to 6lbs. Gained 4oz since last week.

Front page looks really nice!!!!!!

Ooh check out the front page! Cant believe how many jj's were born in December!

I cant believe we didnt have a Christmas baby! lol! Great job on the front page.. I know it was a lot of work and it is much appreciated!

Susie - hope Michael gets to come home soon. :hugs:

Kieran's baby shower went well. He got SO much stuff his nursery is full so now I got more projects! I BF twice when there and got annoyed with a girl I know. Her 9 year old daughter was standing by looking a kieran and I got out my boob to BF and she told her daughter not to look and I said it's okay I don't mind and this girl replied "I do" as if implying that I shouldn't have fed there Grrrr! Would it have been so bad for her daughter to see BFing?

Happy Monday jj's

Alex was put to bed earlier 8pm last night and he slept great so gonna do that again tonight, early ish. May leave him upstairs with the monitor on  eeeeeee so scary the firs time! He slept 8-11 feed. then until 3am feed then until about 6 or 7 yay!

Hey ladies! I am up at 2am most nights as her last feed has generally settled at around 9pm and she has started going 5 hours. Unfortunately u are mostly 8 hours ahead of me! :(

Got the all clear from docs yday :happydance: Jus got to decide on birth control as dont want to go on pill as it can trigger depression for me. Its between IUD and implant. Anyone got any experiences with either? Shes given me some paperwork to read up on but would be nice to hear any real stories.

My in-laws leave today, which is bitter-sweet as they have been a bit of a pain, esp MIL, but ave helped hugely with Holly, plus its always sad saying goodbye. Having said that, we return to UK a week on thursday so will see them again soon, plus all our friends and families!!!!! :happydance: :happydance: Can't tell you how excited I am to go home, and for everyone to see Holly!! So far only my mum, MIL & FIL have met her which is just so weird! The crazy thing is after this trip we're prob not going to get back until Sept when we return for good, and Holly will be 9 months then  That makes me really sad to think so I'm going to try and back in-between if I can. Its an 11 hours flight though, which will be really tough on my own. I dunno!

Anyway, hope u r all good and sorry for not individually commenting but its 2.30am and I'm shattered! Lil lady has done her usual of waking me up whimpering and now gone back to sleep :dohh: She'll be up soon so no point going back to bed now though!

The flight will be tough! :hugs:
Glad you got the all clear hun and like ther avatar :)

I feel your pain! Caine wont nap at all now and is a demon child by 3 /4 pm He keeps pinching the dummy and putting it in, wanting carrying etc.... its exhausting. I wish I had sort of waited anoter 6 months but i spose its never easy with two. Like with poor Jo having to do the school run every morning, glad I dont have to do that but I do have a 22 month old having paddys and trying to beat Alex up all day :dohh:

Be confident in yourself hun, he had a great gain last time and if his nappies are full, your boobies are doing the trick! x

I love side lying feeding, so easy and baby latches on their own :)

i thought after the first injections you can take them swimming

Yes i thought that too xx

I know, impatient bunch!

Ah jade bless must be tough, my 7.30 til 9.00am is pretty hectic but least I have 6 hours a day without having to yell at Corey. He's 5 in April and still I'm constantly telling him to be gentle and behave. I think some of it is jealousy and the rest he's just too boisterous! I'm pretty sure newness will wear off when people are not coming to see the baby all the time and they get a handful of hair ripped out when they get too close ha ha! Think that's by about 4 months x

Thanks hun!

Well, oh's parents have just left and now I cant stop crying. Its so f*cking hard. Its not that they've left as we will be seeing them in just over a week, as well as everyone else at home, its more just a reminder of how far we are from everyone and how much I miss being home. I am dreading when I have to say goodbye to everyone when we come back to US as we may not be home again until Holly is 9 months old. I hate hate HATE it and want to scream. Its awful as we came out here for OH's job and I end up feeling so resentful that he 'made' me come out here and now I'm stuck out here hating it, but it's not his fault and so then I feel terrible. Sorry to rant at you guys but its so hard, if I ring home I end up worrying my family and so feel like I have nobody to talk to. I just want to go home so badly I can't even tell you.
