January JellyBean mummies

I'm freezing mine in 3oz bags, it's easy enough to defrost milk under warm tap quickly if baby polishes one off quickly. Next week I'll prob do some 4oz bags so have some bigger ones in my stock pile. Are you freezing a collection too or was you expressing specifically? X

im freezing for a collection too. I have 3-3oz bags and 1-4oz in the freezer already but it takes me 2 days to do one bag as i only pump at the morning feeding. He eats off one and i pump the other one. I only get 2-3oz each morning depending on which boob i pump. One produces more.

Laura BF babies settle with your smell too so he may of finished off on the boob just for familirlarity (sp)

i fed him the bottle myself so that he could still smell me but maybe i wasn't holding him close enough. I will have to remember to leave a shirt that i wore the previous day for OH when i go out just so it smells like me. thanks for that remeinder!!!!

Hi Ley welcome! Hope you and baby Megan are getting on ok! some great girls on here, obviously your LO knew that and decided to come join us! x

I have a moby for sale if anyone is after one. I have a chocolate one and im selling to fund a different sling (i so want a didymos)

Sar what notice do you have to work if you went back to work?

how much are you looking for for it? :)

:haha: my left boob was going for ages this morning, I actually stopped before the milk did, that one is clearly the best one! that should be plenty for an evening out I'm sure if your OH only defrosts one at a time. I forgot when you said you was going out but think you have time to do another bag as well at least! x

Hi everyone, I was originally a feb lovebug but my baby girl decided she wanted to be a jellybean and was born on January 24th so I thought I would come and say hi to other january mums.

Hope you don't mind x

hi ley and welcome, i will add you to the front page as soon as i detach my baby from my shoulder lol

Also to all the JJBs we sort of decided that it would be nice to put a little statement about ourselves on the front page, just a little introduction for fellow and new members to familiarise themselves with us and maybe find something in common to talk about (obviously babies) but you know what i mean.. you dont have to, just thought it would be nice.
just put them on a post and i will sort it out once Joe is asleep somewhere other than my shoulder

I sooo need to start building a milk stash for my night out in March - belated 30th! haha

Hope everyone is ok?

Hey mummies thanks for all the birthday messages. Had a lovely weekend and got spoilt. Once again I am very behind on news but seems like we are all doing ok at the min. Few sleepless nights here and there and gassy babies galore so hugs to those who need them!!

My statement is: I'm Leanne, 26, from Nottingham. I'm a primary school teacher and I teach 4-5 yr olds. Living with my boyfriend and my gorgeous jan jellybean Toby George, born 7-1-11 at 00:27 weighing 7lb 1oz. I am a bottle feeding mummy who enjoys taking walks with the pram and showing off my lovely baby!

My news is my milk is dwindling but i knew it would happen so I'm not stressed about it. Spoke to loads of other mummies and found I have a lot of the bfing probs in common and am finding it a lot easier to formula feed. I do feel guilty and very sad about having to stop as I loved the closeness of bfing and the benefits but it was making me unhappy and I was stressing about when the next feed would be. I am still expressing some bottles and manage a bottle a day usually which is 3-4oz but I can tell my boobs have slowed down production as they aren't half as lumpy now. The main thing is that I'm happy and he is too so thats all good.

Had an interesting night last night too. Toby wanted to be awake in the night for an hour before he was ready for a bottle. He just lay in his bed grunting and snorting so he kept me awake as I was waiting for him to cry. He has seemed t be getting into a pattern of going don around half 10, waking at 2:30-3 then again 6:30-7! But last night he went down at 11:30, woke at half 1 and then half 5 so I am shattered today. Managed to have a dozy afternoon on the sofa with the little fella though. These babies like to keep us on our toes don't they!!!

I always feel like I don't comment now on anyones news, I just talk about me lol! How selfish!

Hope everyone is ok

xxx

FF mommies....how much does your little one drink? Im pumping and storing some BM in 3oz baggies and I gave him a bottle this past weekend because i was having a few drinks with a friend for her birthday (only ended up drinking half of one drink due to the screaming gassy baby) But i just want to know if 3 oz is enough or if i should make them bigger. I dont mind wasting a little if he doesn't drink it but the bottle i gave him didn't seem to be enough and i ended up BFig for about 5 minutes to finally get him to settle. Luckily i was home but in 2 weeks im giong out with my mom for 3 hours and will be leaving OH with a bottle. I would hate if its not enough and he has to wait for me to get home for more.

3 ounces should be good. Avery drinks 4 oz per feeding, but she's over 10 pounds now.

Fab idea Sarah what info should we include x

i dunno  maybe an introucion, whatever you want people to know..how many kids you have, were you ttc for long,if at all, how your pg and birth were, that sort of stuff, ill do mine tomorrow :hugs:

I'm Nicole, 35 years old and I live in New Jersey, USA. I have an 11 year old son, Colin, and after years of infertility and miscarriages now have a one month old daughter, Avery.

Urgh bad day, just had to go to the hospital cos I've got an infection :( but baby was very good and slept through the whole time we were waiting there :)

For the front page:

I'm Natasha, 24 and living in Finland though I'm from the UK originally. Living with my hubby-to-be and our little, as yet nameless, girl (though not so little really as she was over 4kg when she was born). I'm mostly breastfeeding but having to give some bottles as well cos of problems with supply but trying to remedy that. I'm a student who's been on a break for the past 3 years...really ought to finish my degree!

hi all, well im sat here with Joe asleep on me still! he has been very sleepy today but its been on me all day more or less, hope he sleeps tonight, trying him on 5oz now and hoping he will go longer at night times, thanks for all the statements i will get on to them soon xx

Hey ladies! Smiffy if its any consolation, I feel exactly the same! I always read comments but never seem to get round to responding so feel like a right lurker  sorry ladies!

Holly had her 2 month jabs today - a little early as we are flying to UK on thursday so she had to have them done for the trip. She was really good at first but when the doctor came in for some reason she started screaming, the worst I've ever heard her scream before, and she hadnt even have the jabs! Safe to say by the end of the appointment she was in a right tizz and bright red, bless! Not pleasant to watch but I was ok, it had to be done.

Soooo excited about our trip home!!!! :happydance::happydance: We fly on thursday (but don't land til friday, go figure! :dohh:) and Holly and I stay for 3 weeks!!!! Eeek! Unfortunately hubby can only stay for 2 weeks due to work, but my mums coming back with us so I won't have to fly with Holly on my own. Have just started packing, its unbelieveable how much stuff this child needs! She's only little!! Oh and on that note the not-so-lil porker is now 12lb!

Hers my statement Sarah:

I am Lisa, 27, living in San Jose in California but originally from Wigan/Leeds- born in Yorkshire but lived in Lancashire for 10 years! I live with my husband John, Jack Russell Jasper and our beautiful daughter Holly who was born on 19th December 2010.

So its 9pm and ive done infant belly massage twice on Q and gave him Oval at 8:30. So far he is sleeping but im soo expecting the screaming to start any minute now. I really hope he is fine tonight thou. I was also really worried earlier because i realized he only pooped once first thing this morning but he has had another now. how many times a day should a 1 month old poop? I cant remember. he has been very wet all day thou so i wasn't freaking out.

Hope he's still settled Laura! I know a bf baby who only poo'd every other day, both my kids poo in almost every nappy whilst bf. Happy to say we have no dirty nappies overnight now! Saves disturbing her to change her!

Fearne is 3 weeks today, where does the time go? X

Ooh happy 3 weeks Fearne! Laura I was told 2-3 poos a day is to be expected, not sure if its diff for bf babies?

at least 2 poops a day is what I've read..... i'm getting like 5  lol
