January JellyBean mummies

Great idea Sarah, not exactly sure what to write but here goes.....

I'm Laura. I live in Ontario, Canada and I have 2 children...My daughter Tessa is 2 and my son Quinn is almost 1 month. Both my children stopped growing during pregnancy and are considered IUGR (intrauternine growth restricted) My daughter weighed 4lbs 13oz and my son was 5lbs 3oz. I'm a breastfeeding and part-time co-sleeping mommy.

Do you think thats too much for the front page?

no, i think thats perfect

Laura hugs for you and Quinn! Your trying all you can hun it's all you can do. They usually grow out of these things naturally by 3 months which probably seems a long time off (((hugs)))) x

I'll do mine while I'm up doing the night feed, I'm a little tired and have only one eye open so forgive any mistakes!

I am Jo, I'm 31 from Sheffield, mum to Corey 4 and my January baby Fearne. I live in Sheffield, I am in final year of adult nursing course and I'm breastfeeding my beautiful baby!

Hope that's what you was thinking! X
lovely thanks, its nice that people might find something in common with us and a bit of an ice breaker to newbies to the thread

OMG what an aweful eveing this has been. Quinn has been pretty gassy these last few days and ive been giving him gripe water twice a day to help ease it but its not really been working. hes been cluster feeding because of it but not really eating much which I think has been making it worse because hes probably only getting the foremilk which makes him gassier.

Tonight has been the worst. Screaming in horrible pain. The gripe water didn't seem to help at all so I went out to the pharmacy and got some Oval. It says it works quickly but Quinn still kept screaming for a little over an hour and the only thing that calmed him down was being on the boob. Needless to say my nips are killing me now but if it helped him feel better and calm him down....he was getting the boob.

He has finally settled and its now midnight....which is better than the 2am he has been settleing at these last few days but he had never screamed as bad as he did tonight. i was literally crying with him. I hate knowing hes in pain like that. Its aweful.

I sure hope the oval works better and quicker tomorrow. I can give it to him up to 3 times a day but ill try to start off with once a day...maybe like 9pm when it all seems to start. Wish me luck that this stuff works ladies....Quinn needs it....and so do I!

sorry didnt see this this morning, its awful isnt it when they are like this, never heard of Oval but good luck with it x:hugs:

You can get some brand new great cond swings off ebay! I dont have one but have been looking...

For the front page:

I am Jade, 30 live in Notts and I have 2 gorgeous boys, Caine and Alexander. My partner is Andy and we have been together nearly 9 year, hope to marry next year. I manage a sales department in an Environmental consultancy and am also studying for my Business Studies Degree. I got my swing off ebay, i think it was £20 bnib - the fisher price rainforest one. Have a look on baycrazy for local pick up only bargains. Phoebe hates it though! Only place she likes to be is my arms right now

thanks, ill look, Joe has been funny recently during the day, wont sleep for long in his crib luckily he does at night time. Have you tried a sling?
weve got the rainforest vibrating chair

Ive got a moby sling which has been highly reccomended - but i literally cant put phoebe down for long enough to master tying it. Trying to practise with a screaming baby doesnt work :(

She did sleep in her pram for long enough this morning for me to sort some washing out and halfway prepare tonights dinner, hoping she does the same when i pick my son up again or i'll be finishing off dinner with her crying again :(

Hi ladies not been on in a few days, really tired. Michael is still struggling with his wind despite the gripe water - wonder if they do Oval here Laura? Hope Quinn settles, it is horrible not being able to soothe them.

I'm feeling a little better in myself now I'm adjusting to being a Mummy but had no idea that newborns sleep for around 23 hours a day/night! Will look forward to when Michael wakes up a bit more in the day time.

My statement:

Hi I'm Susie, 29 and a single mum from Lancaster. I have a lovely little boy Michael born 28.1.11 and we are bottle feeding. Off work till July when I return to teaching primary school - hopefully part time

its hard work isnt it Pinkie
nice to see you susie, thanks for statements i will get them on soon, should i put them on below the dates?
Im worried about work now and paying back my mat pay if i dont go back, i have some options like go back in June and hand in my notice in the summer holidays, then i wont have to pay any money back( i think) or just hand it in now and the payback wont be so much, then risk not having any childminding kids.
Do you know if i can claim any other maternity benefits if i did hand in my notice now?

Ive been looking at the moby sling, would be great to take the dogs out for a walk during the day, i dont think i could manage them AND a pram. Just need to persuade OH now.

my statement - Im Emily, 22 and living with my fiance and 2 dogs. My little boy was born on 04/01/11 via emergency c section weighing 6lbs1 :)

I have a moby for sale if anyone is after one. I have a chocolate one and im selling to fund a different sling (i so want a didymos)

Sar what notice do you have to work if you went back to work?

4 weeks notice but i can do that in the summer hols, i work in a school as a ta, nice to see you Fraggles x

there is a rainforest swing in the classifieds on here, just enquired about it

Hi everyone! I had a good night last night. Bryce cluster fed from 7-10 which was a bit of a nightmare but he slept until 2:30 so I had 4 and a half hours sleep! Wahoo! :happydance:

He has been struggling to settle during the day for the past week so I topped him up this afternoon with 1oz of Aptamil and he went down in his moses basket for the first time during the day.
My husband went mental at me for doing it but I think he needed it just so he could get a nice sleep and to give me a bit of a break too.

My statement: My name is Naomi and I have been married for four and a half years. I have a 2 year old Daughter called Eloise and a 1 month old Son called Bryce. My Daughter was delivered by emergency c-section and my son was a ventouse VBAC. I am a stay at home breastfeeding mummy!

FF mommies....how much does your little one drink? Im pumping and storing some BM in 3oz baggies and I gave him a bottle this past weekend because i was having a few drinks with a friend for her birthday (only ended up drinking half of one drink due to the screaming gassy baby) But i just want to know if 3 oz is enough or if i should make them bigger. I dont mind wasting a little if he doesn't drink it but the bottle i gave him didn't seem to be enough and i ended up BFig for about 5 minutes to finally get him to settle. Luckily i was home but in 2 weeks im giong out with my mom for 3 hours and will be leaving OH with a bottle. I would hate if its not enough and he has to wait for me to get home for more.

Hi Laura Michael is 10 days old and takes 2-3oz but sometimes 4 if he is hungry.

I'm freezing mine in 3oz bags, it's easy enough to defrost milk under warm tap quickly if baby polishes one off quickly. Next week I'll prob do some 4oz bags so have some bigger ones in my stock pile. Are you freezing a collection too or was you expressing specifically? X

Hi everyone, I was originally a feb lovebug but my baby girl decided she wanted to be a jellybean and was born on January 24th so I thought I would come and say hi to other january mums.

Hope you don't mind x

Laura BF babies settle with your smell too so he may of finished off on the boob just for familirlarity (sp)
