Happy Valentines Day!

Kieran had a very bad evening yday. He had trapped gas and cried for hours. I finally send out DH to get some baby gas relief stuff. His little tummy was rock hard so much that his innie belly button what sticking ou like an outie!! As DH left he recommended putting him on the boob to try to push it through and sure enough by the time DH got home Kieran let out the loudest poop and farts. We never ended up giving him the gas relief but I made the mistake of reading the ingredients. There are so many ingredients that are like 20 letters long and I cannot pronounce. Anyone else worry about all these crazy ingredients?? I also have gripe water and read those ingredients too and also has some crazy ingredients!

I think Kieran has recently become a more effective nurser. The last 3 feedings he has stayed on the first breast for about 20 minutes and when he comes off he is content and not interested in he 2nd breast whereas before he used to feed off both for atleast 15 minutes each. The only problem is where he doesn't take the 2nd side by he time his next feeding comes it is soooo full!

I worry about the ingredients. Thats why I stopped giving it to Quinn when I noticed it was not helping at all. Wish I knew what I was eating thats making him so gassy. I hate hearing him scream in pain.

I have a really naughty baby today she cluster feeding, fussing and screaming. She don't want Paul only me. I even tried her with bottle of expressed milk and she hated it only had half an ounce. Can't wait for her to go to sleep, it's getting to me a bit tonight. Don't help when I hear about other babies same age going 3 hours between feeds. Been lucky to get 10 minutes tonight! Infact she like this every evening!

Wish I knew when she will stop it! X

awww sorry to hear that! cant offer advice only :hugs:

Jo I think the cluster feeding will come and go. My last baby started cluster feeding at 4 months and it lasted for months. Before 4 months he did it for a week or so at a time but I didnt mind when he got older as it meant more time in bed.

J is feeding loads too. I thik he knows feeding pushes his gas through. Evenings seem to be feeds every 1-2 hours but a feed can take upto 30 minutes. So by the time he is winded its feed time again.

So I gave Quinn about an ounce of warm water just now. Hopeing it will help with the gas. hes been screaming on and off since 11am and its now 9:30pm. Yup thats 10.5 hours. He did stop at nap time as I had him in bed with me feeding until he passed out. But tonight he wont even feed right. he will eat for about 5 minutes then fall asleep and start screming within 10-15 minutes and feed for 5 minutes then sleep...etc etc. I dont know how much longer i can do this for tonight. We went out for dinner and he screamed for 10 minutes before OH was able to rock him to sleep and put him in the car seat. he actually slept for 40 minutes there which was long enough to eat and get home. If this water trick doesn't settle him down Im giong to call the dr tomorrow and get him in. Not sure there is anything they can do but screaming for 10 hours is not good for a baby im sure. Ive only heard colic babies screaming for a few hours each night....not most of the whole day!!!!

BTW I onlly decided to give him the water because my nipples are killing me from all the times he has spent on them today. I almost made him a bottle of formula to see if he would drink it and sleep for a while. My head is killing me from all the screaming and I dont want to take anyting for it because there is caffeine in it and im trying to aviod all caffeine to see if thats what his problem is...but its not looking like its the caffeinie. I might try no milk tomorrow but taht will kill me. No pop, no cappacino and no milk!!!!! All i will be drinking is water....and i hate water. I can only manage a glass or two a day but without milk ill have to drink it all day. Uhg!

Please send hugs! I really need them.
