I have put some pics of Joes tongue tie in the journal, im gonna compare them when he gets it snipped next week.

Hey girls, hope u r all good, just had a lil catch up. My mum arrived last night and john has been back at work today so i've not been able to get on here until now and prob wont be on as much for a while as my mum is here a week, johns parents are here for 3 weeks then a week after they leave we go back to UK for 2 weeks and then my mum flies back with me for 2 weeks.....phew!!! Soooo appreciating the help though. I was heartbroken that john went back to work today and very teary, so glad my mum was here. Plus Holly has had a very restless day, which hopefully will mean a good night, but shes been very fussy and crying a lot so shes been hard work. Oh well, its all worth it, ey?

OMG Alex stinks  I forgot how explosve BF pooh is

I had a very teary day yesterday, spent most of it crying in my pjs again :(

Am hoping today will be better and I am gonna get out of this house and getdressed!

Everyone ok?

Alex slept 5 hours straight last night! Well done little man keep it up :)

Hope you feel better soon Jade. I've been very emotional for just over a week now and it sucks!! Damn hormones!!!

Well I didnt need to worry about Joe as he is now 9lb! he is nearly on the 75th centile, now im worried hes gonna get too fat!

Yey go Joe!! I've got a feeling I'm gonnahave a lil tubster on my hands over here! Shes already on 4oz and sometimes demanding a lil bit in between...!

Hello ladies!!! Guess who can join the club now? I don't have too much time to post, but Madison Rose Blanchard made her debut Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 7:05 am PST. She weighed 6 lbs 15 oz and was 19 inches long.

I'll get around to writing the birthing story, but long story short, I had the easiest delivery ever- went from 3 to 9.5 cm in a matter of less than 4 hours!

Every 3 hours is great Jade! Well done!

It was so hot here today, it's 36 deg celcius (about 98F). Mackenzie has just wanted to drink the whole day! It's 19:00 here and it's only starting to cool down now. Apparently tomorrow is going to be the same :(

Anyone know about nipple shields? I bought the Pigeon brand ones today and they worked really well. I was worried she wouldn't drink from them as she refuses a dummy but she was fine. The only thing was that she drank for so long (over an hour!!!! and then she was still thirsty). I don't know if it was the heat or that the milk came out slower. Anyone know?

Over an hour isn't too bad. The nipple shields are great, but they do slow down your flow of milk getting to your lo since one of their function is to help regulate the flow so LO doesn't gag. It might also be that your LO is hitting her 1 week growth spurt, which will make her RAVENOUS... this will help stimulate breast milk production for you too, since the more she eats, the more you'll produce.

Hope Joe feels better soon

Well done Alex 5 hours! Have no idea what that is like! Kieran's longest is 3 but only during the day. :hugs: about the tears jade. Hope getting up and getting dressed will make you feel better. My little mans poos make me and DH roll over in laughter. I didn't realize this tiny little baby can fart so loud and then he gets this little look in his eyes like oops did I do that?

Last night was a bit rough again. We are still trying to figure out the cosleeping And what is most comfy. Kieran would sleep in our arms 24 hrs a day if he had his way. Think he has his days and nights mixed up. When he cries he goes from 0-100 in aatter of seconds and then it takes ages to calm him. He will be one week old in about 10 hours!!!!

LOL Maddie farts so loudly too!!!! She gets a contented look afterward though. We always call her poops and farts "presents" and thank her when she does them for us.

She's doing an amazing job! She latched on right after birth and drank for an hour and has been eating regularly. The doctors expect one or 2 diapers a day from a healthy, well-fed baby, but we've been going through about 12! Her poo isn't tar-like anymore and since she's bf exclusively, they don't smell!

This morning had problems though... my milk came in, which made it difficult to latch on. starting from 3 am, we tried everything, from just being patient, to expressing in her mouth, to using nipple shields... but it just wouldn't work and she just kept SCREAMING and SCREAMING!!!! I just couldn't stand it!!! She finally settled a bit so I tried letting her sleep in her bassinet so I could get some sleep too, but she wouldn't have it... as soon as I picked her up, she would quiet right down again, so I gave in and just let her sleep in my arms as I silently sat there and cried, since I was told it wasn't safe to sleep while holding her. finally, by morning, my milk was fully in and I was in so much pain! the hospital brought in a pump, which helped tremendously, and we fed the milk to the Little Girl. She still hasn't latched on since this morning, but at least I know she's getting fed. Anyone have simply MAHOOSIVE boobs now? I swear my b has gone to a large D! I don't expect to get back to pre-pregnancy weight because of my boobs, and even though I didn't get stretch marks on my bump, I think I'm going to have them on my boobs. This is the sorest part of this whole thing so far! LOL
Wow... I think I've been rambling. Let me just end by saying this... No, I don't miss my bump AT ALL- I'm so happy not being pregnant anymore... Yes, I might be super tired and far too emotional, but my beautiful baby girl is worth anything and more than I've gone through! Daddy's a photographer, and you ladies NEED to see the beautiful pictures he took of her first day of life. I'll post them as soon as he changes the files to a more web-friendly size. Have a great night ladies!

Jade im sorry i didnt see your post, hope you are ok
Lisa you sound a bit happier now that your mum is there, hope it gets easier for you
Regina glad you had an easy birth Madison sounds like she loves you as much as you love her...:cloud9: im sure your boobs will settle down even if they do go up a couple of sizes.. glad you are home x

I wanna see what is your FB name? Pm if you don't want it on here! Been getting peed on loads. Seems everytime we change kieran's bum he sees on us!! Anyone else with a boy get the love sprinkle?? We have these little pee pee tee pees. They are little cone like Washable things you place on his willy while chAnging diaper to catch pee. I'm going to give them a try on his next chnage

 My son did that to us when we changed his nappy for the first time. They never had pee pee tee pees in those days, lol. Mackenzie has pood and weed while her nappy was being changed but thankfully with a girl the wee goes down, lol.

Welcome Regina! Congrats again on your little bundle of joy. Can't wait to see the pics. Mackenzie has her photo shoot next week :cloud9: Funny you mentioned the gagging. I find my milk seems to come so fast when she drinks that she ends up coughing and gasping for air, poor lil thing :( Didn't know the shields helped with that too :) I have often fallen asleep with Mackenzie in my arms but find that I am so aware of her being there even in my exhausted state. You sound like you're doing a great job!

My boobs are also huge now and my tummy is almost back to it's pre-preg state and yet hubby doesn't even comment :( After feeling fat and stressing my whole pregnancy about not ever getting my figure back, a compliment would do wonders, iykwim?

I am in so much pain. I could barely walk to the loo this morning :( I was doing so well after the op. The day I left the hospital it felt like I could run a marathon, lol. It should be getting better not worse!!?? How did you ladies cope after your c-secs?

Sar will go check out the journal.

Lisa and Jolene how you feeling?

Alexander is feeding well and filling his nappies well bless him :haha:

He has the guthrie test today! :( Its snowing here :(

Disney, have you tried a different hold to latch her on, when your boobs are full its really hard to latch them on at first but after a day or so its easier. I have to latch Alex with the rugby hold one side and its fine the other. I have one dodgy nipple thats always caused me agro! Congrats again hun x

Jolene :hugs: am sure you look fab hun, piccies of before and after? :)

Jolene my tummy still hurts it feels bruised or like ive done sit ups and thats 5 weeks later. make sure u take painkillers even if u think u dont need to before the pain starts if that makes sense. the other thing i didnt realise was your tummy stays numb for ages. i posted a thread about it and some women dont get feeling back for years... i never knew that! You still need to take it easy as its early days yet x
I like jades idea of before and after pics I think we should all do it..

Thanks Ladies, will have to get a pic while hubby not looking, he'll think I'm daft.

How often do you ladies have your LO's weighed? After the paediatricians last check-up with Mackenzie at the hospital, all he said was see you in 6 weeks. I didn't think of the fact that she'll need to be weighed to make sure she's getting enough milk in (so difficult to tell when BF'ing)

Jolene-I am finding the csection recovery very difficult. It has been a week now and sometimes I still end up in agony. I was told about 6 weeks till I should feel somewhat normal. Hope it is sooner.

As for weight loss I finally stepped on the scale yesterday. I was 114lbs prepregnancy and 146 lbs at my last check up now I weigh 131 lbs so I have lost half of I already. My belly has shrunk solo much but is nowhere near prepregnancy flatness. That for me will only come once I get back to yoga and running. I will take a piccie one of these days.

Are you feeling better today jade? Happy 1 week to Alex! DH and I had a champagne toast last night at 7:52 to celebrate kieran's one week!

We had a decent night baby K slept 3 hours straight at one point in mummy's arms :cloud9:

How's everyone else today?

Other than weighing baby a good way to tell if they are getting enough is to count wet diapers. i dont quite reembmer how many in a day is good but sure someone will know.

Also, not sure who was takling about it as i didn't hit the quote button, but for the gagging from milk....try the side lying position it helps. I had a very strong let down and too much milk at one point with my daughter and she would gag and choke at every feed so the lactation consultant told me to do the side lying postion for a while til it calmed down. It was lovely. Helped with gagging and choking a great deal and plus i learned how to sleep while feeding in this position so it saved me a great deal of rest. But if you had a c-section it might be uncomfortable to do this realy on. I couldn't do the side lying for the first 3 weeks because i felt like my insides were saggin to the side and it was a little painful. best of luck.

OH Ya!!! Thanks to who ever first commented about the pee pee tee pees. I totally forgot about these and need to get some before my boy is here. I didnt have to much trouble wit my daughter but i remember with my nephews they use to pee on me every time i changed them adn im not looking forward to that!!!!!

BTW.....any of you who had boys......did you get your child circumsized? Do they do that there where you live? Just curious.

Laura- we will not be circumcising but all my friends with boys have done so - so I know a bit about it if you have any questions

We have the pee pee tee pees but Kieran just kicks them off everytime. He hates having his bum out and screams through ever single diaper change. We picked up a wipes warmer so at least his wipes are nice and warm on his bottom.

we wont be getting Joe circumsized either... i looked at the teepees good idea but doubt it would work on Joe now he wriggling

Jade im sorry i didnt see your post, hope you are ok

Thanks so much. she latched on last night at midnight... a hopeful sign, I think! I've gotten a pump though- best thing ever! If you ladies are in the market for one, we have the Phillips Avent Twin Electronic Breast Pump. It's amazing! I can set the pattern and pressure manually by squeezing a trigger, and when I like the rhythm, I push a blue button, and the machine remembers that pattern and pressure and keeps pumping that way exactly. My boobs are out of control, though! at last pump, I got 8 oz out of each boob! that's a huge amount of milk, I think!!! Right? and there's no way Madison can come even close to consuming that much!

Got photos up on Facebook. Go ahead and search for me. www.facebook.com/disneydancr or my email is [email protected]. I'm Regina Pelayo from Anaheim, CA

Regina i saw the photos she is so gorgeous x

Blimey it is hard work having a baby and a two year old! I am loving it though, Bryce is so gorgous I could cuddle him all day! :cloud9:

Ooh looking forward to baby cuddles soon....does Bryce cry much?

Jolene everyone in UK gets the Guthrie (heal prick) test for cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anaemia testing xx
