Junebugs 2010

Lol Delilah! I hated it in the hospital too.. But just try to use the time to relax as much as you can! I can't believe Nathan fitted into your lovely neat bump! I can't believe Layla ever fitted in mine.. It's amazing! Your belly will soon shrink, mine is back to normal now but with a few added stretchmarks, yuck!! You and Paul have plenty of time for more kids! :flower:

Dramaqueen I think it depends how straightforward the labour is! Some people find labour a breeze and are back to normal right away but others have such a hard time that it can take even longer than a CS to recover.. If I had another baby I'd choose a section again without a doubt! You should try and have a break from all the visitors, it can get too much. I just tell them I'm going out when I can't be bothered with them!

:) xx

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA, Zoëlle insists on being held when sleeping so I can't type during the day.

Then we were gone to Québec and Ottawa for my grandmother's memorial service, just got home on Monday. Wow, painful. She was fine all the way there (took us 5 hours to get to Ottawa, then 6 hours to get to Québec city) but decided to cry the whole 6 hours from Québec to Ottawa How stressful... My dad was in the car with us and he's really anxious so it made it worse for us... She only cried half the time from Ottawa to home...

I now have her in a handsfree Mei Tai carrier and she's sleeping, yay!!! We've spent the last 2 days cleaning the house for the real estate agent who is coming today to take photos of the house and list it for sale :) My MIL was here yesterday to hold Zoëlle while DH and I cleaned, tidied and packed... Ouffff it's a lot of work to sell a house. OK, real estate agent just left and the house will be listed tomorrow. People will start coming through now for viewings...

Didn't have the chance to read through all the pages I've missed, but CONGRATS Delilah!!!!! So excited for you, Nathan is adorable. Yes, been getting the emails from Paul and he even answered me :) I wasn't bored in the hospital, I was so exhausted and took the time to rest up because I knew I wouldn't be able to at home, so please try to rest!!! I also got tons of visitors which was nice. I took pain meds around the clock and didn't wait to be in pain: worked very well since I was hardly uncomfortable! Ibuprofen 600 mg every 8 hours and acetaminophen 1000 mg every 6 hours. I did have some stronger prescription pain meds (oxycontin) but felt that both myself and Zoë got really sleepy when I took it, making breast feeding difficult... Email me if you want to chat about anything, I'm here!!!

KD, I'm not measuring quantity of breast milk baby is taking in. I'm letting her have as much as she needs, as long as she keeps latching, means she's still hungry :) Didn't try pumping yet but may soon so that DH can also help feed her. I think she's near 9 lbs now at 4 weeks.

Weight loss wise, have not lost any more weight in the last 2 weeks so a bit discouraged... I still have 17-18 lbs to go before I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I kind of fit in my pre-pregnancy fat jeans right now, that's a start...

Zoë has her 1 month check up next Tuesday, and I have my follow-up OB apt on July 13th. I have stopped bleeding now at 4 weeks post C-section, thank heavens. Planning on getting back into exercising slowly, starting with walks next week with baby. Looking forward to sex again!!!

DH is starting his new job on Monday, quite nervous about being home alone with baby :-(

Hope everyone is doing great, will try to check in more often from now on :)

hiya everyone. so good to be finally here. can you add me on the list? i had my gorgeous daughter honey-louise 8 days ago and iv been a little lost as to where to post since leavin 3rd tri. hope all you ladies are well xx

Congratulations scotsgirl! :happydance:

Yay CJ, good to see you! Good luck with the viewings, hope you find a buyer fast! Good news about the bleeding too, I felt horrible bleeding constantly! I'm glad your breastfeeding is still going well. I think Layla is having the 6 week growth spurt.. She's been cluster feeding all day long and just basically drinking milk like it's going out of fashion, hope she won't do this all night :haha:

Zoe is beautiful, love your latest pics, and I think she looks like you xx

Thanks Lili, I find she looks like me too :) I should post a photo of myself as a baby, she looks exactly like I did as a newborn! Hope Layla doesn't keep you up all night with her cluster feeding... I think Z started the 4 week growth spurt today, she fed every 1-2 hours. Can't believe L is already 6 weeks old!

Just wanted to say congrats to all your mommy's :D
It's absolutely wonderful being a mother <3

hi CJ had already missed you! Zoelle does look like you and your mum, she is so cute :)
DD1 was the same only wanted to sleep on my arm.. until she was 8 (!!!) months old lol... but as hard as it was I always knew I was going to miss it!

Emma you are very lucky.. I'm sooo tired!

forgot to say CJ you will be fine when hubby goes to work, I was nervous when my OH went but it's fine, I took both children out every day this week! And if I can do it with 2 children then you can do it.. just do what you can and always remember the household can wait!

DD1 is in bed nearly asleep and DD2 is asleep but still feeding, once they are both asleep in their beds I will do nothing!!! The kitchen will still need tidying later lol

Hi June girls

I finally had Ashton Rowley on 26th June. 16 days overdue! 9lbs 1oz!

I will post my birth story as soon as I can. (Its quite a long one!)>

:happydance::happydance::happydance:

Well Layla stocked up on milk before bed then slept as normal so it was ok!! Back to feeding every 2-3 hours today

Awww Emma that is sad, but you have such a perfect family and that's all you need :hugs: I've just looked at all my bump pics on my laptop and now that I'm back to my normal size I've realised I was fucking huge!! I'll do it again one day...... give me like 10 years, I'll join Junebugs 2020 :haha:

I can not believe Jake slept through!! We still have a nightfeed around 4am but OH does it :haha:

Linn have you had E registered yet xxxxxxx

Awe thanks Lili xxxxx
Last night may just be a one off though! We shall see xx
I registered Jake on Friday and then sent off his passport bits Monday!! Got 4 weeks until we go to France xx

I found that with my baby that it was always a one off when she slept through lol.. or lasted a few weeks and then changed at each growth spurt.

Lili she was registered when she was 4 days old lol, I'm already getting child benefit and applied for her passport, I had to do it fast as I wanted to make sure plenty of time to get her a passport, as we are off to Germany next month!

I will join the junebugs 2020 with you Lili :) I bet you will sooner!!

Was due 15th June baby Lacie came 28th weighing 7lb x

Hi ladies,
Had a rough night with Z... Can't get her to sleep in the bassinette, she only sleeps with me but then I don't sleep... Any advice on how to get her to sleep in the bassinette? After each feed, I rock her to sleep and wait 10-15 minutes. She wakes up instantly when I try transfering her over to the bassinette. I rock it but she gets more and more agitated and then I need to pick her up... I'm so tired, I need help! And then during the day, same thing. She only sleeps on me or in my carriers, I can't even put her down to have a shower. Not sure what I'll do when Nathan starts work on Monday :-(

I've been advised to put Evey into her 'bassinet' (aka washing basket ) before she goes to sleep, that way she learns to settle herself and that being in the bassinet means sleep time - not mama holding her!

Fortunately Evelyn sleeps quite well once put into her bed, we just make sure to change her diaper before her feed because then she tends to get sleepy enough that she will settle better on her own.

If she doesn't settle in there then I put her into her bouncer and she tends to go to sleep in there, which gives me some time for a shower...

That's all the advice I can offer; fortunately, although she likes sleeping on/with me, Evey is a pretty good baby! I expect someone else will have some better advice..

We had a paediatrician appointment today - Evelyn, having gained back her birth weight (7lbs 11oz) within 3/4 days, is now 8lbs 12oz!!! Tubby girl!! :cloud9:

hey all im still lurking!

not got long but quickly CJ...you could try wrapping her up in a blanket and cuddling her off. then the blanket and her will be warm and the temp difference between you and the basket, she shouldnt notice iyswim. that worked with DD1 for us. xxx

I already asked Alex if he'd get the snip...He said he would  We had a discussion when I was pregnant about it (as we always said he would eventually) and he said that even if we decided not to have anymore children fairly early on, he'd still want to wait until he was in his thirties or so before actually having the procedure done, incase we changed our minds... So, I think my epic labour upset him more than me! But I was also very depressed to begin with, so I think he's just wanting to keep me happy, iykwim? I wouldn't agree to it anyway at this point, because we'd decided on 3-4 kids! Just surprised me that he is willing at this point! Poor soul, I think birth traumatised him!!

BTW, is there a certain limit as to when you can get on the mini pill? I need to find out who can prescribe me it over here... DH and I are already discussing s-e-x and I want to get contraceptives sorted out asap.

Evey slept from 10pm til 2am til 6am til 10am last night :) We are perfectly happy with that at this point!!!! :D

xx

KD, she starts crying if we do that and I've read you can't spoil a newborn so there is nothing wrong with picking them up when they cry. She has never been able to fall asleep by herself (other than in the car seat while car is moving). I refuse to let a 1 month old baby "cry it out", they just want to know that they're not alone and need the comforting...

E&L, we swaddle her every time we put her down, then rock her until she's alseep. It's kind of funny, the second we stand up from the chair and start walking toward the bassinette her eyes open and she's wide awake again... Arghhhhh... BUT she does sleep very well next to me, swaddled or unswaddled, so at least there is that. We take naps side by side too...
