I don't think i believe eczema and asthma are related to early weaning. My LO got eczema at about 4 weeks old, i didn't start weaning him until 17 wks?
But OH had bad eczema as a child and i have hayfever and asthma, i think if it's in your genes it's in your genes.
My friend just started her 3 DAY old on rice cereal.

What?!? Why?!? Thats crazy. Theres no way they need it. Why not just offer more milk? Surely its not in an attempt to make them STTN x
You never know in 20 years time, our kids might be saying "I can't believe my mum weaned me at 6 months! Now I have got x, y and z wrong with me!"
Just because guidelines have changed, doesn't mean they wont find out even more years down the line and change the guidelines again, maybe to 8 months, or even back to 4 months.

but even though that very may well be true i dnt think it should be used as an excuse to ignore the world health orginisation and wean early...

Nor do I...?
Wow that is way too early! My grand parents didn't wean that early at all. My dad and aunt were at least a year before they were done with milk.
