• Xenforo Cloud upgraded our forum to XenForo version 2.3.4. This update has created styling issues to our current templates. We will continue to work on clearing up these issues for the next few days, but please report any other issues you may experience so we can look into. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Just letting you know there will be a change to this section (On hold for feedback)

TTC'ing with no known issues and not a lenghty period is FAR FAR different from those who move on to investigations, assisted conceptions and go through months of hell rather than impatience ...I voice that from personal experience not a guess.

As much as we may seem quite quick on things (thank you for the positive feedback) its not always the case and can often be too late we'd rather stop choas before choas is caused. We also have a good team of mods but you may notice we are all different time zones whist that is a good thing it also means certain times the forum is definately less modded whist we all have our own personal lives, homes, jobs, partners, etc.

It isn't nice to feel we should consider placing restrictions on any section but we do like to try and protect the more sensitive issues on BnB.

Hope that makes sense - time for ones bed

Thanks for all the feedback so far though girls x

I think it's a very good idea. I too agree about keeping the journals open and a sticky thread that will be open for all, and our choice whether to read or not. Thanks for the consideration!!! :)

I hope that I can still be part of the section. I don't really feel like I belong in the TTC section.

I have to use assisted conception b/c I have no partner. And have had an IVF cycle cancelled. Did two clomid IUI's before that, and have had 8 previous unmedicated IUI's. Been TTC for a year too - so I guess I fit into the long term part of things as well?

I haven't been a member for too long, but honestly haven't noticed too many inappropriate/insensitive posts - have seen a few though. However, I'm not opposed to closing the section if it has become problematic.

I think that is a great idea. Can I stay. I really don't have a journal, but I do like coming in here to talk to my buddies and post my questions about Clomid and my ltttc issues. Do I qualify? Thanks and I do think that it is a great idea.

I think it's a great idea too, although I don't post much, I'm on here everyday and love the advice I get when I do post from people who are in the same boat as me.

Although I am not quite a LTTTCer, I am going through testing to figure out why I have such irregular cycles. I lurked for a while and since I signed up for an account, I often check this board. I find the information helpful, I enjoy offering hugs/words of encouragement, and I am also obsessed with checking the LTTTC bfp announcements. I am so thrilled everytime another name is added! I am sorry if I offended anyone by posting.

I guess I should add, I've been TTC since July 2007 with endo and MFI (low count).

when i first joined BnB lots of the members of ltttc were on the ttc boards (neyney, miel, jack24 & a few others) i never really spoke to them because i was new and felt like i wouldnt be welcome, but i kept track of their journals abnd their progress. and now they've moved over here, but i still pop on every once in a while to see how their doing. im not ltttc but my year is getting pretty close now. i feel like even after a year or 18 months even i wont be wecome here. im on the ttc boards and thats my place. i dont come here that often and only mostly to check up onthe journals so i havent sen any insensitive comments. but i have sen people use the ltttc boards as a platform to belittle the ttc-ers (calling them stupid and moronic!). everyone has to start their journey somewhere! and everyone on here was new and full of silly questions once!!

im not saying that things shouldnt be changed for the better. but people who are going to need this support in the future ma be pushed out by this . .

Perhaps everyone can post replies but not post new topics? Is that possible Wobbles?

Sounds like a good plan, but in say my case... My things change from day to day... Like i had my scan yesterday, Today i informed all it didn't go to well, maby tomorrow it goes beter...
Then if i get changed from CLOMID to the HCG injections i will want to post on that....
Or when it becomes to much i would like to post about my LTTC frustrations.....

Sorry, I meant that only people who qualify for this section could post new topics. Didn't word it very well!
 for you though

It's not posting new topics that's the issue though - I don't think people who aren't active members of this section ever really start new threads... it's the insensitive replies to other people's threads that are the problem. Even if we can't post replies though, we'll still be able to read threads that are started and give support to the friends we have in here in other ways x

I didn't think of that side of it sorry. I wouldn't imagine posting anything other than complete support to ladies in here.

I know most people wouldn't! But you'd be surprised at some of the replies people get! And some of the time it's people posting (not talking about you!) thinking they are being supportive but their 'advice' based on how they managed to conceive only makes people feel worse x

hi,

i'm not sure if grabbing all the members with lots of posts will catch all the people welcome in this section. I havent been trying for long at all but am fortunate enough to have found out about my fertility problems early (as I was already diagnosed with PCOS), i have been through various tests and am off to see a FS about clomid (sorry i'm rambling now).

Anyway my point is that I find this section very very useful but dont fall into the LTTTC/high posts category.

I know you said we can apply with a reason to get in though so i'm probably worrying unecessarily :)

Thank you for making me realise! Noone could possible know what these ladies go through unless they went through it themselves. I, myself have no idea as my bub was accidental; but this forum has opened my eyes and made me realise just how lucky I was especially since I was being checked out for PCOS the week before conceiving.
Hearing 'tips' from people who conceived easily would not make the ladies feel very good, they probably tried all those methods anyway.

I think the post count thing was more to stop new people from coming straight in and posting without really knowing what the section was for, rather than to stop people like yourself who obviously belong here (the fact that you haven't been trying for long doesn't make you any less welcome - it's a section for assisted conception too). If it's going to be limited to posts for LTTTC and AC only, I'm not sure how the post count would apply anyway? I think everyone will be approved for posting if they belong in here :hugs:

I'm not sure if any of that made any sense  x
