Just letting you know there will be a change to this section (On hold for feedback)

I think its a good idea to narrow things down a little. Simply because sometimes people who don't understand the troubles and heartache of ltttc can be a little in sensitive.

Hopefully no one will feel excluded, and understand its a proctective and preventative measure?

There's always pm & profile messages i guess if they wish to offer support/advice yet can't specifically post on the thread?

My OH suggested something which creates a usergroup only section BUT its automatically approved ...what this way will do is 'force' people to read the guidelines so nobody can say "I didn't see them" they have to agree to these before the access is granted & it also enables us to refuse that access on a permanant should they ignore.

There are girls with buddies and those who relate to certain topics/situations that can offer good advice and understanding so to anyone else really theres no need for them to even want the access to post and its where you hope common sense kicks in.

What do you think?

Seems fair to me huni xx

Just wondering if for this section there is any way of having an automated box come up to ask if you want to turn your ticker off before posting? I only ask as i am a complete dumba**e and keep forgetting to uncheck the 'show your signature' box before i click 'submit reply', then i see my signature and feel like a complete insensitive cow!
Maybe its just me that needs to take more care? I've tried to edit it before, but i don't think you can remove your signature via 'edit post'?
I'm sorry girlies- i don't mean to leave it on when i do leave it on! I know how frikkin' annoying it is!

The reading guidelines and then getting approval to post sounds good to me!

I think that sounds like a great idea Wobbles! Thanks for everything:hugs:

Sounds like a good idea Wobbs and thanks for caring how we feel x

I think that sounds like a good idea - and if that doesn't work, then after a while it can always be made stricter.

xx

You can edit and remove the siggy if you go advanced and under miscellaneous options uncheck the show your signature box

Just joining in a bit late. I think its a great idea to restrict this section. We're in to year 3 now and when I first started posting everyone was so supportive but sometimes you have to trawl through some benign stuff which seems really trivial. I am sure that people mean well but unless you have been / are going through it all there isn't any way in the world that people can understand. I hope that doesn't offend anyone who has been well meaning but its just the way it is. Thanks wobbles!

I also think it is a good idea for a quick checklist to appear rather than having to join, that way it is still inclusive but will hopefully make everyone think before posting.

On reply and quick reply theres a box that says 'show your signature' you need that unticked. IF you forget to after submitting reply press edit then edit in advance to turn it off (it won't let you on quick edit). Hope that makes sense.

Don't get me wrong I to have forgot in the past I think many understand that ;)

The popup box could be possible Id have to ask my techie (OH) but I think it could be more annoying than helpful! x

I think it sounds like a great idea :) it can be quite upsetting when people are insensitive especially on this forum ( we get enough of it in real life lol) so its great that hopefully that will stop xxx

That sounds good. Is it just something that would come up that people would have to read the first time people come in here, and not every time they read a thread in this section?

If it's only once, the only thing that might be a problem is if people use the "Unread Posts" to look at new threads, rather than clicking on the section itself to read threads, as I know half the time I don't pay much attention to which section threads are in that way - so you might still get people reading and replying to threads without thinking (although you'd hope that people would check)? Sounds like a good idea though :D ...I'm half asleep this morning and probably not making much sense, sorry!
