Kate McCann releasing a book...

You could easily dump a body in the sea and it would never be found. I once watched a programme about a Boeing 747 that crashed into the sea and it took them months to find the wreckage. A jet is slightly bigger than a 3 year old girl. And after a while, a body in water would be so badly decomposed it wouldn't be recognised as a body.

surely that depends on how far in the object is though. If its in the middle of teh ocean then no, it would never be found but if its chucked off a pier or something then I imagine it would get washed up on the beach or someone would see it unless it was weighted then it would just stay there and im sure the sea was searched well?

i wonder how they would have gotton out to sea, surely someone would have remembered seeing them? I just dont know, its like the poor girl just vanished :nope:

I do too Kala. I think my first reaction would be OMG SHES GONE HELP ME FIND HER not THEYVE TAKEN HER

Yea definitely.

Also i imagine i would run around screaming for her and looking rather then running straight back to the restaurant.

I think if most people were in that situation they wouldnt need to run back to the restaurant to alert people as they would hear the screams and shouts for your missing child.

Yeah, i'd run around looking myself and screaming for someone to help me. Kate and Gerry both had mobiles did they not? I'd prob phone whilst looking, not run over to get them  You dunno what you'd do in a panic though I guess.

I suppose, depends if whatever it was was weighed down so it wouldn't wash up. It doesn't bear thinking about. The only person who knows for sure what happened that night is the only person who isn't around to tell us :(

Fiona Payne: "She did... she brought it up and that she - I mean, this is awful in retrospect, as well - she asked what my opinion was on, errm... tut, on whether they were okay leaving the... the doors unlocked, because she was saying: 'Is it better that, if Madeleine wakes up, she can get out and find us or...,' errm... 'or locking it and, you know, finding that we're not there and the door's locked, if she woke up,' because Madeleine had woken up, what I thought was the night before. Errm... tut, and it was in that context, really, just asking, you know, what I thought. So it was obviously something that was on her mind a bit, huh."

If it was that much of a dilemma how about NOT leaving your 3yo daughter scared and alone in a foreign country when you know it has already happened the night before? :nope:

That makes no sense whatsoever. Why would you leave a 3 year old an opportunity to get out of the apartment?! Thats so ridiculous. Theres a pool right outside the apartment too :dohh:

was just going to write that too. think i'll just carry on 'thanking' your posts tonight, lol

I cant understand that theyd leave their kids at all... what makes it harder to believe is that the kids woke up crying, screaming, scared the night before... and they chose to leave them again? Sorry, but I just don't get that at all. Leaving them alone is one thing but knowing that they could wake up scared & upset as they did the night before? just horrible :(

I know its totally different but Seth is terrified of thunder & lightening, that when it happens first thing I do before he wakes up is get him into bed with me so if he wakes up scared he's with me and he feels safe. I know its totally different, but the last thing anyone wants for their kids is for them to feel so scared :(

xxx

Personally i think it was more then just a abduction by a stranger.

but like you sam i hope if she was abducted that she i dead (its such a horrible thing to write) because that is better then the alterntives :(

I'm just reading the '100 reasons Madeline wasn't abducted' I'm truly shocked. A few things can be 'explained' by the 'shock' of an abduction but some of them make me feel extremely uneasy.........if they are true then god only knows.

I know this is terribly morbid, so I'm sorry, but if they did 'dispose' of the body, how has it not been found?

A 3 year old is so small i imagine it would be fairly easy to hide then dispose of

It seems she wasnt seen for most of that day by anyone other then her parents so if they had something to do with it then they had time to think and act

I suppose I was just thinking that she died by accident that evening, & they'd have had to rush to dispose of the body & wouldn't have time to think about it 'properly'. Wasn't the media coverage so extensive though that if someone had gone back weeks later to move the body they'd have been seen??

VG points too about shouting they've taken her. I honestly think (the best I can having never been in that situation) that my first instinct would be that my 3 y/o would have wondered off....

i don't get how they could leave the doors open, ANYONE could of/did get in  if they woke up, scared, in the dark i hate to think what the poor little loves would of been thinking :( i'd be scared if i woke up with the door open!

Wow after reading all the thread and looking at peoples posts it definatley seems that their story does not add up at all!! I am really starting to think about buying the book just to see what her actual story is, and at the end of the day the proceeds will go to a good cause, I hope it brings her back, I really do. It is so sad thinking about the other more sinister outcomes and what the little 3 year old girl has gone through dead or alive! x

Can Police in this country not investigate all these 'discrepancies' or are their hands tied because it happened abroad?

It would seriously traumatize me if I had gone out without G and come back to find she had been crying for me. And that's if she was staying with someone I knew. If she had been alone and crying for me I would never leave her again. It's not like they did it as a one off, that's what makes it worse

They have spent a vast amount of the fund money on their legal fees :nope:

Scrap that apparently its not true

I'm not sure where i read it (was a link on this page somewhere) BUT SEEMS LIKE OUR GOVERNMENT actively hindered the investigation by now allowing the Portugese police to do searches of their phones etc, maddies medical history etc (Can anyone confirm that, im sure i havent made it up :dohh:)

Our own government have hindered the investigation. When was the case declared officially closed?

Really that is shocking!!! That fund is to help find Madeleine not their own legal fees, no wonder that people have stopped donating!! I wonder how much their legal fees were stopping that policemans book being published!! Thanks Kala will not be contributing to the fund or buying the book now I know this!! x
