Kate McCann releasing a book...

Absolutely. Aside from the fact the window was so small. How could they squeeze themself through a window whilst holding a child? And they couldn't possibly have said they went through the unlocked doors as they apparently could see them and were watching them most of the night. The theory that she heard Gerry talking outside and went to look makes sense as the window facing the road was the one behind the sofa. I can't fathom why your first reaction to find your child dead would be to pick them up and go hide them but there you go. They obviously cared too much about their image and the fact they'd go to jail for neglect and leave their twins behind. It's sick and Gerry makes me the most sick as the Smiths were absolutely certain it was him. I have no doubt that saw that stupid man walking toward the beach that night. What are the chances?

I don't understand the actions of the other adults that night but obviously they all want to cover their own backs while believing the Mccans had nothing to do with it. Maybe Jane Tanner did see a man but it was dark and he could of been holding anything. The dark does funny things to your eyesight. I see plenty of things in the dark that aren't actually there, lol. Also the fact Fiona Payne's mother hasn't said a word makes me believe she knew that nothing added up but she didn't want to get involved.

Who's Fiona Payne hun??

I just heard a noise over the baby monitor that scared me cos it sounded like someone was upstairs (it was infact the binmen outside lol). I just can't fathom you finding your child missing & not being so sh*t scared you didnt grab your other two & run out....but then again, they left them every night so I guess, that'd be a normal reaction from them :dohh:

Think there is a link to the Smith's sighting a few pages back. They have not once changed their story or description and they were an independent witness. Yet Jane Tanner's, a friend of the McCann's, story changed on numerous occassions from what the man looked like to what he was wearing.

Am I right in thinking the last person to check on Maddie before the 'abduction' was someone 'O'Brien' who is the partner of Jane Tanner? I wonder if she is covering for him with her 'sighting' story?

(Comment below this article suggested that was the case: https://gazetadigitalmadeleinecase.blogspot.com/2007/10/one-more-witness-contradicts-jane.html)

O'Brian was after Gerry I think. He also only stood in the doorway and said that he couldn't actually see Madeleine's bed from where he was, only the twin's cots. When I contemplate any other possibilities, I just keep thinking back to the Smith's sighting. The father claims he didn't sleep for two nights after realising the person he saw was Gerry McCann because he was so haunted by it. Seems he had a bit more than just a hunch that it was him

Sorry hun, so it would have been Gerry, O'Brian THEN Kate who checked on her? Her story changed so much there must be a reason for her trying to make out she saw more than she did & I wonder why that is.

Where's the info about the Smith's sighting????

Fiona Payne is one of the "Tapas 7" you can read about them here:

https://www.mccannfiles.com/id18.html

Diane Webster, Fiona Payne's mother, has made no statements or interviews about what happened. She was also the only one not to get up when Kate came over and said Maddie had been taken.

I've just ordered the book - don't know what I believe but if the proceeds go towards the fund, then that's ok by me

Thanks! Off to read.

This is interesting:

Basically, they are a bunch of liars IMO.

I think I will be buying the book - don't think it'll give any answers to all the questions though.

Does anyone know what the "Tapas 7" did when hearing Maddie had been 'taken'?

According to reports, Jane Tanner was in her apartment as she took over attending to her sick daughter from her partner. So she didn't notice anything wrong until she opened the door and saw everyone. I'm going to assume they all got up to go search though it was said they did alot of trampling through the apartment at first.. Diane Webster stayed put. :|

The Tapas 9, on hearing Kate's revelations, all got up from the table, supposedly to help look for Maddie. All but one, Fiona Payne's mother who also, as has been said, didn't involve herself with any of the investigation. Between Kate saying Maddie was gone and the police arriving, they had all already drawn up a timeline of events on pages ripped out of Maddie's activity book.

If i was one of the McCanns friends i'd be running round the complex trying to find her

I wont byu the book as it would be to sad and probably full of lies.

I dont want to believe they did anything but I just find it all a bit strange :(

Exactly. When the Tapas staff were interviewed, all of them stated that they saw all the group leave at once bar one older woman. Mind you, if a child was missing, I wouldn't find the time to sit down and write out a list of events either

I think what she means about the outfit is that Maddie looked beautiful and caught someones eye who may then have watched the family waiting for a chance to take her (leaving aside the fact that they were handed that chance on a plate).

She also said that someone might have known they were out because the diary in the restaurant had a note in it saying they wanted to be close to their apartment so they could keep an eye on the children and she feared someone watching them had seen it.

My LO is very blonde and has beautiful eyes. Everyone remarks on their colour and how beautiful they are.

When I dress him in certain things we are constantly being stopped by people who want to admire him. He has a particular coat from Next and some shirts from Debenhams that never fail to draw attention to him.

One woman said he looked like Royalty, I think she'd got Royal Wedding Fever because she kept saying "He could be Royalty, he looks just like Prince William when he was a young boy, he's better than Royalty!" *cue Proud Mummy Moment*

But once we had a man pay him a compliment and then say "people would pay good money for him" before he laughed and walked off. I did that thing where you start to laugh because they have but then you realise what they have said isn't funny and you have no idea what they meant but you don't like it.

So I sort of know what she means. Sometimes children do draw a lot of attention just because of how they look in a certain outfit, and who knows who might have been looking at Maddie that day?

I will say the comment from that man made me much more aware of who might be looking at LO and why.

Sorry just seen this.

I understand your point. If they had said 'we were in the wrong leaving her, we realise that now, we will feel eternally guilty' etc THEN she suggested about the outfit maybe attracting attention, I wouldn't mind that. For me, it's the lack of guilt, the way they refer to the guilt in the past tense, like they are over it ('felt' not 'feel'), the way they still try to almost, argue and defend that they were right to leave her. Your daughter was stolen & you say you were 'performing your own baby listening service'? Seriously. If she was taken, you did a terrible thing - hold your hands up. They were asked did they think they were wrong to leave her & they said they had struggled over that question. For gods sake - these are meant to be intelligant people! If I read a front page that said 'WE WERE WRONG! We accept responsibility' I'd have a hell of a lot more respect for them.

I personally think they are full of excuses for their behaviour because if they admitted some form of blame, the wouldn't be seen in such a rosy light anymore. And probably because in their heads, they need the 'abductor' to be the bad guy & not them!

Have a look at 21:55 (what Jane Tanner was supposidely doing)

I think that's a case of 'let me say something which the police won't question'!!

I think most people's problem, and where most suspicion is aroused, is in the fact that they have never admitted that they were in the wrong

I'd be looking in the swimming pool, asking people if they had seen her, checking the road, going to reception etc etc. Just doesnt make sense to me. I'm pretty sure they wouldnt have suspeted the McCanns killing her though, idk? Very odd that one stayed put, was that the woman whos husband ws seen making inappropriate gestures, or somebody else?

Exactly and they've never acted in the way you would expect parents to act if their child had gone missing, I mean to go jogging, play tennis, leave their twins in childcare to do said things, it disgusts me!

I remember reading his blog and he had put something about being disappointed because he couldn't go jogging that day, HELLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOO your daughter is god knows where and all you care about is jogging, they are deluded!
