Just been reading through all of this thread... how do you know how much of this is true? How would some random person know that Gerry had deleted the history from his phone for example?

I can't really take any of that into account personally, even the sacked police officer (or the officer who was taken off the case), everything is biased against them.

Im not standing up for them at all and Im certainly not saying they're in the right but I don't think a lot of stuff you find online can be trusted

A lot of this information comes from official police files which have been made public. This info has then, in most cases, been put to the McCanns, who have commented on it. Gerry said that the reason his calls/texts were deleted was because his phone only held 10 records (which may be true but they weren't block deleted, it was selective, the same with Kate's). That's their problem - they never shut up. They dig themselves a hole everytime they open their mouths! They forget what they have said - but they don't just forget a few details, they literally FORGET what they have said, because IMO it never happened. How can you explain Kate saying (video on youtube, so she hasn't been misquoted) she never physically searched for Madeline, yet now saying in her new book she looked through the undergrowth? You either did or didn't. No confusion!

I havent actually read or seen any interviews by either parent apart from the appeals they did in portugal when maddy went missing originally.

Id be interested to see some footage of him saying things like that before I can believe it personally. Not saying its wrong, just have a hard time believe things in the media or internet before Ive seen it myself iykwim? xx

Yes IKWYM. I'm like myself! I honestly came on to this thread horrified by peoples lack of sympathy & attitudes but have spent the last few nights reading/watching stuff about it (I blame OH for having the football on, lol) & I still find it hard to know what I believe. I don't believe she was abducted, or that she was killed with intent by her parents. For me, the massive amount of story changes, inconsistancies etc etc points to me SOMETHING is being covered up. What it is, I just don't know. I don't believe she was abducted, but then I really struggle to believe if Gerry carried her dead body to the beach, he managed to hide it with just his bare hands & no one find it, until it was moved. That beach was very close by & IDK, it's difficult.

Maybe it's not just the McCanns who have something to hide. That Jane Tanner woman & her ever changing description of the suspect must have an agenda too. Maybe she is somehow involved, maybe she's covering for someone.....maybe she just likes the attention! Who knows.

I just hope one day we find out!

Not being funny but you are open to discussion when you splash your story all over the news and write a book If they had a problem I'd happily invite them in to answer some questions but since they can't even answer police questions I doubt that would be the case.

I'm not saying your view is wrong as everyone is entitled to an opinion and everything is open to assumption but - the basis of the theory alot of us have has come from official police documentation not a stranger making up stories on the net.

It is my personal belief that the Mccans have something to hide. I don't base my opinion upon rumours, I take into account scientific fact. And it is a fact those highly trained (British) dogs found the presence of a dead body in their hire car. It is fact that the blood is a match to Madeleine's DNA profile. It is a fact that a full grown man carrying a child would not be able to squeeze himself through a window without a) putting her down b)making a mark c)disturbing the bed/windowframe. It is a fact that all the people at the very middle of this investigation have changed their stories several times. It is a fact that Kate and Gerry Mccan have refused to answer police questions and refused to take part in a reconstruction. Now I'm not saying they killed her or even going to make an assumption about what happened. But something is amiss

.. I never said it was a perfect match either. The DNA sample was too small and what was found too complex BUT scientists have said that 15 out of 19 components of Madeleine's DNA profile matched. Either it was genuine or a "chance match". Now call me naive but what is the probability that someone else's dead body was put in the back of the car? Because the cadaver dog also detected the scent of a dead body. It wasn't just a random bit of bodily fluid.

Absolutely agree with what Jem has said. I don't think anyone in here has made their assumptions based on hearsay and propaganda from the internet. I myself have watched a number of interviews the McCann's have done, all in which they stumble over their story or contradict themselves. It is solid fact that, although they stated in one interview that they were willing to co-operate by any means possible, when Kate McCann was interrogated by the PJ she refused to answer all 48 questions. Why would she do that? I have seen the questions she was asked that were published by The Sun (which is a paper very much in favour of the McCann's so not out to cause any controvesy) and on the most part, they were not in any way misleading or finger pointing, just general questions such as "who contacted the authorities?" and "How was Madeleine's behaviour that night?" The only question she answered was this:

Q. Are you aware that in not answering the questions you are jeopardising the investigation, which seeks to discover what happened to your daughter?

A. 'Yes, if that’s what the investigation thinks.'

The cadaver dogs smelt the scent of death in numerous places in the apartment and the hire car, on clothing belonging to Kate McCann and also Madeleine and the toy cat. There is video footage, again from The Sun, (which I will add, is headed by Rupert Murdoch who was in close connection with The McCann's official spokesperson at the time, Clarence Mitchell) The cadaver dogs have solved 200 cases and have never been wrong before. They don't conspire, they're just dogs, trained for one purpose only. There was a report taken and it was found there had never been any known deaths in the apartment prior to the McCann's stay.
The sighting by the Smith family was ignored. Why? Why, if you were searching desperately for your child, would you ignore a potential lead? Why, when a number of sightings of her appeared in Malta (14 in total) did the McCanns fly to Germany to plug her fundraising instead of going there to follow up on the leads? As well as when the most "promising" sighting in Belgium, they flew out to Spain. Why does Kate McCann say in her book that she spent hours looking for Madeleine in undergrowth when in numerous interviews she has admitted she had not actually spent any time physically looking for Maddie at all? Why did Jane Tanner's description of the man she saw change alongside the Smith's revelation of seeing Gerry carrying Madeleine towards the beach? Why was it only members of the Tapas 9 that could back up any of her claims, with no independent witnesses (other than the Smith's)?

I could literally go on. To me, there are too many things wrong with the whole thing. And this is from reading and watching evidential proof, not from reading other people's conspiracy theories

Good point And yes, I believe there were and they were also a match. Funnily enough the Mccans have used soiled nappies as an excuse. Now I don't know about you but I don't chuck shitty nappies into the back of my car. Generally, I put them in a nappy sack then into the bin. Also shit doesn't smell like death, so.
