Why does someone always have to come and ruin a perfectly civilised discussion?? We are just talking and discussing what may have happened to a poor innocent child. Some stories just don't quite add up, so people are questioning it and stating their beliefs. I find this thread really interesting, I hope it doesn't get closed down

soph we've all said this is just *our opinion*.. Im more than happy to hear other peoples theories and things but we're not going to just stop the discussion we're all fairly deeply interested in because some people have said that *they* dont agree with *our* opinion?

All of this is speculation, if you believe then u do, if you dont then you dont. Nobody should stop posting because they think something different.. instead of telling people its ridiculous and not true etc just offer some alternatives for people to think about?? As far as i can see EVERY option given so far has been thought about..

None of us were there that night. Some of us have chosen to read facts at great length. Others are happy to think that the whole thing is a misconception and they're innocent. There is nothing wrong with this discussion imo and there is no reason why anyone shouldn't comment regardless of their stance. None of us are right or wrong. But this IS a discussion. If we just posted our opinion and everyone just said "ok" then that would make for a seriously dull conversation. Freedom of speech is a beautiful thing. Nobody needs to get worked up or shitty. Like I said, there is no right or wrong and everyone is entitled to their opinion. At no point in this thread have I seen anyone tell anybody else that if they don't believe what they do then they should stay off the thread. Agree to disagree and leave it at that. We're all adults, this is a sensitive subject and I think that it's been discussed maturely so far

If someone comes onto the thread which is going really well & says people make out they are 'stupid' for not believing the 'conspiracy theory' (which in itself is offensive!) and say we tell them not to comment, then yes, it frustrates me cos it's just not true. I said 'thought not' because I am convinced no where on this thread has anything been said like she claims.

However, if I'm wrong, please just show me!

So I've been reading that site that states a lot of facts regarding the mccanns stories and am in awe about so many points mentioned (on my phone so can't write down which ones right now). One point in particular that stuck in my head was that kate admitted in a bbc interview that she herself had never actively looked for maddy. Wtf???? Surely as a parent the first thing you would do is go screaming down the streets looking for your child?? I just couldn't believe it when I saw that!!

This is one of the most civilised threads I've come across on baby and bump. It might not be on a nice topic but people are listening to each other, discussing things, listening etc - there's been a few times I've wanted to say something which would have been classed as rude but I haven't, because the thread is going so well. I'm sure others can say the same....

Don't come on here & just because people are discussing things you maybe don't like,make out that we've said things we haven't even come close to! So rude.

I said 'thought not' because I am 100% positive those things haven't been said.

I personally didn't like her tone when she came on & made out a really civilised thread was making people feel stupid, cos it's not. Nor did I like her saying what we are discussing is a 'conspiracy theory' - suggesting on one hand we are making people feel stupid who don't agree with us whilst on the other calling it a 'conspiracy theory' seems a bit contradictary to me!!!

Yeh theres quite a lot about that comment further back its to me shocking really, If a child went missing to me id be physically looking day and night... its odd! She also said she did look in undergrowth... so whats the truth?!

Exactly Soph. You have come to your own conclusion as have we. Just so happens they're different. It's a basic human instinct to be suspicious. Some are just more so than others. Like I said, any offense you've felt wasn't intentional I'm sure

Look, I'm not going to argue. I can link back to my posts on this thread where several times I've said to you you're entitled to think they are innocent, to want solid evidence, to feel until there is any we shouldn't believe they are guilty...etc, but we think different. We find something we want to discuss, you say it's not solid evidence, it won't stand up in court. To me, I know you think that, and you know I believe solid evidence isn't the only thing needed. You know how we all feel so you don't need to keep repeating yourself, and we accept how you feel.

So when that's all been said before, there's no need to make out we've jumped on you or made you feel stupid. We haven't.
