One question though. Gerry says that it was on THEIR request that the dogs were brought in. Why would you request that a cadaver dog be brought in if you believed your daughter was still alive? And why would they bother requesting dogs in the first place if, the minute they found "evidence", the McCann's dismissed them as tangible?

In the other link though the police officer said it was he that wanted and brought in the sniffer dogs, not the McCanns? Think they are off on their fabrications again.

I know I love how they can remember 'every little detail' of those days on holiday but the major things they manage to muddle up

I've been reading this whole thread but not commenting much... WHY would anyone think it's ok to leave kids on their own in an apartment?? We don't do things like that in our own homes so why on holiday?

As an example, Tegan is always unsettled away from home. When we went on holiday a couple of months ago my OH slept in a double bed with Tegan every night and I slept in a single (T doesn't go to sleep in bed with me she just wants to play ). Surely all parents would realise that kids are sometimes unsettled away from home, why would you leave them? Even if what happened to Maddi was not done by their own hands, it is still their fault. What they did is unforgivable.

You're right. My Mum took Emma to the caravan her & my Dad have & because Emma had never been before she slept in the single bed next to Emma rather than in the double with my Dad, just in case Emma woke & was scared. Just common sense isn't it.....obviously not for some people

I'm not sure if I'm in the minority but when ever I leave my house I always make sure my door is locked to protect my things. There have been many occasions where I have trailed back home just because I couldn't remember if I had locked my door. And on holiday I'd definately make sure my door would be locked to protect my passport more than anything. I just don't understand how someone with children in the room just happen to forget to lock the door. Surely our children are worth more than valuables we own :/

It probably was locked, Theyre just saying that it wasnt to cover their backs. If the door was unlocked and Maddie woke up, at a few days short of 4 your more than capable of opening and closing doors, My LO can almost do it and shes not even 17months yet! I think they probably did lock the door but because the window theory didnt work they had to say the door was unlocked to keep up the abductor story. IMO.

i just cant comprehend anyone on this earth being so bloody stupid and going out for dinner leaving kids alone in an unlocked/unsafe place. I think theyre lying about the doors

I dont think the tapas 9 speak any more, at 1.21 or 1.22 in that interview Kate says they were going with friends with knew, then she stumbles and says we know.

You're definitely not a minority, I'm pretty sure everyone locks their doors on the way out now. Sadly it's normal to lock the doors when you're IN the house now too. I know I do. Too many stories of people coming in and helping themselves while you have a shower

As far leaving a door unlocked whilst children are inside, alone.. TBH I can't imagine ever leaving my child alone in an unfamiliar (or familiar..) place. NOTHING is more important than protecting your children. On that interview on irish TV, Kate says they wrote "can this group have a week long booking because they are leaving the children alone". That really caught my attention. I honestly think that statement was a double edged sword. She said it with the intention of meaning it altered all the staff to children who were by themselves but I also think she might be a tiny bit ashamed of herself - there it was, written simply, they were leaving the children alone.

Also, before i forget, It was said that they couldnt provide full DNA to determine if the blood in the car was maddies, but yet they gave that ''body finder'' a strand of her hair??

I think the issue was that there wasn't enough blood so the DNA tests were inconclusive, but possibly Maddies.
