I was reading earlier about one of the possible 'sightings'... it was quite believeable the article. I just want to know what happened. I hope she is resting somewhere too. poor girl

Honestly, I still think it was an accident and they just covered it up. The whole sedation, and maddie climbed and fell off the sofa is the most plausible explanation IMO. I think Gerry was probably the 'ringleader' and he comes across as smarmy and sneaky cos he thinks hes protecting kate and the twins I don't buy the whole sexual abuse side of things really

I must admit I've got quite emotional reading Kate's book.. It's very convincing as alot is explained but that's not the point. I suppose that's neither here nor there because there's so much conflicting I've now confused myself! Point is when she said that the twins would ask where she is, why she isn't coming back and Sean would walk around the house saying to everyone "We can't find Madeleine". That's heartbreaking.

I totally agreee with this too.....
It's very easy to read into things too much - especially when there are so many discrepancies around.
I don't think anything was planned, but I don't think any of us will ever find out the truth

I do honestly think that the mccann's are not completely honest. The thing that is confusing is that the madeleine fund is a limited company and not a trust or a charity so the mccann's have easier access to the money. Also this fund was apparently created within hours of madeleine being missing. And I can't forget that the british media was informed a couple of hours after they discovered that she was 'abducted'. I thought that the majority of missing children are eventually found. I don't know, this is mind boggling!

Yeh the sofa thing and cover up is the most reasonable explanation with the evidence etc, but like quack says, the money side and media side is very odd and something fishy is def going on there i think. It was too soon?? And why is it not a charity?

I also dont believe Sean and Amelie talk about Maddie, how can they remember her they were so young?

theres no way they would remember, my ex's kids where 18 months and 3 when we where together and now neither of them remember in the slightest.. (which makes me sad!!)

ive ready through this thread over the last few nights and wow... i never believed the story of the abduction.. but ALOT thats been mentioned on here had never crossed my mind!

I think the abuse side is just people picking out things they heard & making it in to what they want, I just added the comment to see what you guys thought x
Someone put a quote from a website about plausible explanation, about Maddie banging her head the night before & then them giving her calpol the next day etc x it explains the blood in the apartment on the window x I think the McCann's panicked & tried to cover it up & now they are in too deep x

Well obviously the twins won't remember Madeleine as a person but with everything going on since she was missing they are going to be made very aware of her! How could they not be?

My 21 month old only see's my parents every few months and she always goes running to them when they come visiting of we go to see them because she sees pictures of them all the time and we always talk about them to her. It's like when a child looses a parent at a very young age. They still grow up knowing them because their family will keep their memory alive. They still miss them even though they don't remember meeting them.

Yeh thats true if the parents always talk about Madeline then the kids will be aware, I dont think they have a 'memory' of her though, The comment kate made about Amelie saying about wearing Maddies shoes because they wont fit her anymore, Kate has obviously said that to Amelie and shes just repeated it IF it was said at all x

I've been reading this thread for days now. My mind is well and truly boggled!

I remember when it first happened, I was the only one in my group of friends to disbelieve Kate and Gerry. They seemed so cold and just no emotion.
I was also very angry that they'd left all 3 children on their own, to go out to dinner!
I'm still angry about that. They've never even hinted that they feel bad for neglecting their children.

I really do think something different happened to what they've said. What that is, I don't know.

Reading excerpts from Kate's book, it makes me question myself and everything else I've read, but that's what she wants, isn't it?

I hate the thought they've done something to her, or covered up her death etc. I don't like thinking they're capable of that. But something is definitely amiss.

I've read in several papers, comments from the public and columnists, who support Gerry and Kate, 100%. They lap up all the info in the paper/media and don't seem to question anything.

A lot of the comments on websites are only in support of Kate and Gerry.....they must have censored the "bad" ones.

I just find it all so far fetched and completely unimaginable. But, something has happened and I just feel for poor Madeleine.

I can't ignore the dog evidence. I can't ignore a lot of what's gone on. I'm just surprised the McCanns haven't had to answer to anyone. Even if they were innocent (not that I think they are), surely they should still have to answer questions?!

There are too many inconsistencies, not enough emotion. Kate has never, to me, looked like a distraught mother. What sort of mother, when faced with finding her child gone, runs out and leaves her other two BABIES, on their own?! There is so much that makes my blood boil!

zanes got a very good memory at the age of 2 but the things those twins are coming out with have been put into their heads. yes i understand they want to keep maddy in their thoughts but putting all that into babies heads isnt fair

Im not sure with the twins really, Eve died before we had Amy, but she 'knows' about Eve to an extend. If I say 'wheres Eve?' she runs and gets her photo and gives it a kiss or sometimes she looks up to the sky and waves at her.

My Son was 3 when Eve died and it was 3.5 years ago and he remembers her and brings her up randomly in conversations. Then again he does have a very good memory, he recalls stuff I've long forgotton from our old house, when he was 2.
