kinda a yukky question about the 'loss'

I'm currently miscarrying at just over 5 weeks... I'm not usually quite as far as this when it happens and usually its just like a normal AF with a few red lumps. But this time I have big black clots mixed in the bright red blood.. is this normal?

i'm so sorry for you
when it happened to me there were very big and very dark clots and big lumps of tissue (sorry) and really dark blood,, but not loads of it. i was just told at the time that i should seek medical help if it was a lot of blood (1 pad or more an hour i think?), can't remember what they said about clots but dont think they were too concerned. contact your dr or nhs if you are in a lot of pain .... take care and i hope you are okay sorry if that's not much help ...

Thanks, was just a bit worried that it was such a dark colour. But seems all ok from what you've both said

Mine started dark and then lighter. The only concern is if you lose too much blood and you become unwell. Look after your self.sorry for your loss

I'm sorry to hear about your loss as well. I also experienced dark blood and clots of different sizes for a while for the last one. Prior to that I remember a mixture of that and brighter blood. Hope that helps, but it does sound like its ok for you so far. Take care of yourself.

Hi Ju Bubbs. I was 5w 6d and had really dark, good sized clots and bright red bleeding also. I was told to seek help if I filled a pad in less than an hour, had cramping that doubled me over in pain, or if I developed a fever because it could signal an infection. Hope this helps and I'm so sorry for your loss.
