Ladies new to Clomid...

This whole bloodwork on cd21 thing is confusing me... Before clomid I was under the impression that this test had to be done approx 7 days after ovulation (cd21 being based on the 'average' woman ovulating around cd14) but then with clomid I have been told to go back on cd21 which is next Wednesday and I know I havent ovulated yet... so Im not sure it will show anything up? Hmmm

Im starting my first clomid cycle in a few days (cd 5-9) wish me luck!!

Is it pretty stupid of me to do this without an ovulation predictor?...
I figured we would just have sex everyday for a month, take no chances! lol.

Good luck with that one! I admire your stamina if you can do it that way!

I would strongly advise you to get some opks... even if they are just internet cheapy ones... they will serve you well

Im going for 4 cycles with clomid.... what I'm doing is trying different variations.

1st - cd 5-9 (50mg)
2nd - cd 3-7 (50mg)
3rd - cd 5-9 (100mg)
4th - cd 3-7 (100mg)

Has anyone tried switching them up like this?
Hope one of those combo's works!!

Mine has advised me to take it on CD1-5, I think this is in order to produce more, but smaller follicles. I think the later you take it, the less, but stronger follicles you have. Hope that makes sense x

hi all, well day 35 and the has got me so am starting round 2 of clomid 50 tomorrow.

was just wondering though, i had a scan day 14 and they thought i either had just ovulated or was just about too, my day21 bloods came back at 48.1 so i know i ov but i thought u had af 14 days after ov, so im confused as had a 35 day cycle???!!!

when do u think i should bd this cycle? im confused with it all!!! i had no ewcm last cycle, maybe this cycle i will, have been drinking lots of grapefruit juice and taking evening primrose to help!!!

im gonna purchase some opks to help i think!!

Thanx for the info! yea I knew that, that's why I'm switching up the cycle days like that because I don't know if I necessarily have a problem with the amount of follicles... just that they're not dropping...(as they do not think i'm ovulating every month - but regular periods) They tested my eggs a year ago and said they looked fine... I have no idea if thats relevant tho.

So since I'm really not sure about my follicles yet I'm trying everything .. don't have much 2 lose right? lol - I haven't heard about starting clomid cd 1! That's so early! I've heard 4-8, 3-7, 5-9... 1-5 is definately a new one! Good luck!!

So girls, how are we all getting on with clomid now?

Whereabouts are you all in your cycles and how have you found the first round of clomid?

I've just ordered Provera from my GP (as advised by consultant) to bring on AF as my first round was unsuccessful. But now I have another cycle to look forward too.

Renee ...i think if i remember correctly you are same person that said you ordered clomid without prescription...i don't think you should play around like that trying to make you own combo ...Clomid is a drug and should be taking and follow by a doctor ....i do ovulate and my specialist recommanded 3 months at 50 mg...

Have to agree with miel on this. Unprescribed clomid can do more harm than good as it can cause ovaries to over-stimulate.

Generally, a good consultant will want to scan you to check how many follicles you've developed around CD10-13.

There are lots of fertility drugs available that may even be more suitable for u than clomid so it really is best to check with a doctor.

I know I agree completely - I have an appointment on the 10th with an obgyn so thats perfect for me, they can check the follicles hopefully.
I only took the chance on taking it because a few years ago a RE told me he didn't think I was ovulating and said we can try Clomid in a couple months if I still haven't gotten preggers by then. It was something he wanted to do but we never got the opportunity to because insurance fell through. . I did hours of research and it was always an option for me.. But I appreciate the concerns I know they're meant in good intentions

On another note,
I'm on day 3 of the clomid, NO side effects whatsoever

Glad to hear you're being sensible about it.

On another note, my AF turned up totally out of the blue yesterday after 29 days. This is totally unheard of for me, My cycles are more like 129 days lol

I was told my clomid hadn't work and I wouldn't ovulate anytime soon... so what's this about then. By my calculations if I did actually ov, it would have been CD16. But I was scanned CD 10 and told it didn't work.

Could they have been wrong or is this just something for me to drive myself crazy with lol

So cycle 2, here we come. Started 100mg clomid yesterday as I have to take them CD1-5. So far so good, no side effects yet. But Im not sure how clomi will work with my hangover tomorow!!

Hi there, the first day of my period is tomorrow. This will be the second cycle of clomid i will be on.Usually I get very heavy periods, i wonder if clomid will affect how heavy my period is. Does anyone have fibroids? Im 36 and hve fibroids. We have been trying to concieve for almost two years. Thanks and good luck to you xx

Just wondering if we've had any successes from the ladies new to Clomid?

I'm on CD6, cycle number 2. Have a tracking scan on Sunday and have high hopes for this cycle. Had a few side effects as I'm taking a higher dose of clomid. Bit sweaty, blurred visions, bit bloated and some achey pains.

Last cycle I had nothing so I hope this means its working xx

Hi!

I am on CD 26 with my 1st round of 50 mg clomid. I had severe side effects with this medication. I basically missed 2 weeks of my life, in bed for 6 days.... visual disturbances, dizziness, unable to concentrate, weakness, hot flashes and on and on. I am not sure if I will take it again.

Last Monday I fainted. I have been having very sore bbs with a sensation of having a fuller and heavy lower abdomen. I feel like I am going to have a very heavy AF. My cycles are very long and unpredictable so I have no idea when AF should be coming. Cramping has been constant for about a week now and I think from what I have read, that I Oed around day 14 to 16.

Were u doing OPK's for that week? like cd 16?... Obviously u wouldn't ovulate cycle day 10.. that seems very early.. and if it shortened ur cycles like that it probably did something!

I went to the gyn today, very nice women. She wasn't even mad or anything about the clomid online thing.. She said she wants to test my progesterone levels cd 18 to see if the clomid worked... (what happened to 21?) lol.. and then she told me i'll likely ovulate on cd 18... (cd 12 now) I'm so excited I just want it to be now!! I asked her if one does concieve while on clomid, is it necessary to start progesterone supplements right away to sustain the pregnancy and she said to test as soon as possible and if it's positive it would be smart to get on progesterone right away. Glad I got some answers finally. Good luck to both of us, hope this is our month!

one thing about the clomid though... gained 6lbs in less than a week!!!!!
no change in eating habits either... i almost cried when i stepped on the scale today, is this just water weight/temporary??
