Large Family? Come join us!!!

We're only pregnant with #3 right now, but I'm sure we'll probably have at least 6-8 kids. We're not sure exactly how many right now, but we both want a big family and just have this feeling that we're supposed to. Fortunately for us, we live in Utah and large families are pretty normal (I've met a family with 13 kids, 10 kids, and two families with 9 kids each.) Because of mine and DH's religion, both of our families are okay with big families, and I think they kind of know we'll be having a big one, especially since we've "pumping them out" already. :haha:

Mo2P, your temps look so good this month! Fingers crossed for that beautiful BFP! :flower:

Wow, this thread took off again! Awesome! We have 3 boys, 1 girl. I love my boys, but they are SOOOOO... much energy! I would love another girl, but I'm convinced its a boy, since they run in the family. Dh says he thinks its a girl, so we'll see.
My mom was excited. My mil isn't super vocal, I know its not what she would want, but more because of the financial aspect. If we had loads of money, I don't think she would care if we had 10 kids. Fortunately, she's really good at doing what she can to be supportive, even if she doesn't agree. We haven't told everyone in the family yet. My side will be thrilled. His siblings will probably raise their eyebrows, but won't say much.
So nice though to be able to talk with others with big families!!

LOL My husband is Catholic. So his dads side of the family LOVES babies :) But I live in Washington State. Its all liberals ( I am too lol) who think that more then 2 children keep you down and dont allow you to have a life lol. My family, although they love my kids, think I couldnt possibly give my children a good life because I have more then 2. Its sad. I LOVE my big family! Even though sometimes they make me want to hide in a closet and rock back and forth.

Lol, its SOOOOO... true!!! ( the rocking back and forth thing)

So gotta ask, do any of you homeschool? Or will you? I find large families tend to lean to homeschool. Where I LOVE when mine go to school. It gives me the time I need to clean, plan meals and spend time with the younger ones.

I wanna turn this thread into a large family thread, if you all will help me out :)

Could you tell me,
How many children you have
when your due (if pregnant)
and how many you want/plan on having.

I'll add it to the front page :)

I don't have a large family yet, just the one, but I really want to have a large family. When DH and I met, he wanted 1 and I wanted 2-3, but since then I've really shifted and want 5 or more...DH isn't quite there yet, but he's talking 2-3 now! Hopefully as we have more children, he will see the blessings :)

Anyway:

I have 1 child
I am not yet pregnant
I plan to have 5-6 or more.

I wanted to home school, dh was dead against it. We agreed to give school a chance and if they didn't get on well in school I could take them out. They LOVE school. And I've learnt to love a bit of peace and one to one time with the younger ones.

For the front page, I have 4, def having one more, possibly 2. Not preg yet.

Oh and I plan to homeschool, that is actually something that DH is really supportive of. I was homeschooled. He is just sure he doesn't want our child(ren) to go to public school, as am I, and we can't afford private. He did both private and public and he said he'd never send a child to the schools we have here after his experience.

Front page updated :)

I dont know if I could home school. Maybe if I had a bigger house with a area just for homeschooling. My 12 YO daughter gets frustrated pretty quickly. So I think being at school helps her control that a little more. If she were at home she would just break down and not get anything done.

Have you had any homeschooling experience? A lot of people think that it's hard to get things done, but having been there, it really isn't. 12 would be a rough age to start though, I was homeschooled all all the way through, so it was "normal" to me.

Never had any experience with it. My hubbys half siblings were homeschooled. But my mom worked really hard and no way was she home to school us. I wish I could though, because with all the shootings and things I get really scared.

We were home schooled for about a year, when I was 13 and my brothers (twins) were 12. It was mainly due to persistent bullying, and my brothers saying "if she gets to stay home so do we!" When we moved out of the area my mum put us back into school as she had to find a new job and wasn't able to be home with us.

We r pg with #5.
As far as homeschooling, I am a huge advocate for it, my sister home schools her 5, my 3 younger sibs were homeschooled for a few years. I wish I had the personality for it, but I really don't. Ours kids go to a Montessori school, and we love it. Its been really good for them, and I don't get frustrated with the traditional classroom setting. If I lived closer to my sister we talked about tag teaming homeschooling, but she's an hr away. If I did choose to, the area we live in is wonderful for it.( Indiana)

 I've got 7, and would like just one more. I'm currently felling very negative in the tww (7dpo.)

Dh is not so much on board with more but trying to be supportive.

Look forward to getting to know you all :flower:
