Leaving LO at mums for the day, do I express while I'm out???

I'm leaving expressed milk for her to feed my daughter, but do I express while I'm out and also what do I do with the expressed milk. Hate the thought of throwing it away but won't have access to a fridge and will be out all day.

Yes you should express every couple of hours your away from lo.


You could keep milk in a iced cooler? My electric pump came with a small storage bag lined with ice packs so I just freeze it and store milk in it and you can transfer it to your fridge or freezer when you get home.

But won't I have to wash and sterilise the pump between each pumping session? Not sure how ill do that when I'm out.

I was told you only need to sterilize once a day but that could depend on how often you use it...I think if you give it good wash in a bathroom then you'll be fine.

I pumped.....honestly, between pumping sessions I could not wash my parts. I kept them in the bag near the cooler and everything was fine.

Keep pump parts in a cooler, too. No need to wash between pumps for the day.
