As the title says really ladies. Will it be ok as it was in cold water all night or should I throw it away? Normally I would just throw it away to be on the safe side but I am short on formula and can't get any until tomorrow (on neocate and need to collect from the chemist). I will have just enough if I use the lot I left out overnight otherwise will have to substitute a little with nutramigen.

Would rather substitute than make my LO I'll but don't want to if I don't have to of you see what I mean.

I'd throw it. Even in cold water it likely wasn't cold enough to be out of the "danger zone" temperatures. So personally I wouldn't chance it.

I would also say to throw... substituting will be any time better.

I would also throw away. What I used to do as I always knew I would forget about formula is put the freshly made bottles in ice cold water in a jug and put it straight in the fridge, then by the time the ice had melted/stopped cooling it the fridge would take over. (Just a thought for next time)

I did throw it girls not worth the risk. Thanks for you replies.

Ke29 - great tip about ice in jug in fridge next time!

Why can't you put hit formula in there anyway? Never really questioned why before now..

because fast cooling formula stunts any further bacterial growth where as letting it cool in its own time would promote growth and is why fresh bottles should be used within 2 hours if being made and given to LO straight away. It also heats up the fridge and everything in it.
