Let the August Babies Be Born!

Yep, 41w2d here, had an ultrasound last night and baby is fine, today I finally lost a large chunk of plug. Hoping this happens soon! if I don't deliver before 42 weeks my midwife won't be able to do it, and then I'll not get the waterbirth I've been planning on! Let's go, baby #3

Hi ladies,

Thought I'd update, baby Freddie was born 30/08 at 10:54pm weighing 8lb 2oz after a lightening quick labour.

I was 41+1. We are thrilled and sore lol. Hopefully his big brother will be too.

Hang in there ladies you will all be there soon x

On a side note even if I end up being induced after today it's single digit days until I get to meet my yellow bundle of joy 😍
AND I'm feeling a bit smug as I just managed to trim & paint my toenails. Granted not the neatest job but pretty dam pleased with myself. Got to make the most of these days to myself (DD is with nanny for the day!)

Congratulations October9. Nice to hear that you had a quick labour although that would of been very tough.
Cazran, i would be very pleased with myself if I managed that, I cheated and had my first pedicure today which was totally worth the money.

That's good news 😄 I have a feeling it'll be another girl somehow.. But I could be very wrong! With the nails being done at least they'll look nice in labour :haha:

Got my midwife appointment tomorrow, hoping I can guilt trip her into doing a sweep! I haven't slept through the night in 2 weeks :( I've been walking round lots too today and felt so heavy down there when I'm moving then when I settle down I can't feel it as much, my waddle is hilarious 😂

I spent the last 3 weeks trying all the old wives tales & remedies to evict baby and nothing has worked so I've given up & am just resting as much as possible now to conserve energy for labour!

I'm just terrified of being induced, the water helped so much with DD & the thought of not being able to move around much & being hooked up to machines makes me feel quite sick. I know I still have lots of time but feeling very tearful today 😔

I know how you feel, I have too. Just tried nipple stimulation again with the pump and I'm quite surprised at what actually came out :O
Try not to give up hope Cazran! Once you relax they'll probably start to make a move because we're not encouraging them, usually that's the way I've found!

Had another bout of period like cramps and lots of BH this afternoon... Started to wonder f it could be something but it's all gone again, rubbish! Although it did actually make me start to feel a bit nervous about the fact that I will actually be going through labour very soon... Anyone else feel any nerves about it?!

I'm only nervous about being induced. I know it's going to hurt but I also know if I can have my water birth & access to gas & air I will be ok. DD was back to back & 9lb 2oz so the midwife has assured me this one should "fly out" lol.
I've been having intense braxton hicks too that get really regular but I've never felt contractions in my front so not too sure what to expect....
I think it's worse this time as I have childcare for DD to worry about, she starts preschool next week & im really nervous I'm going to miss her first day x

You should be okay Cazran :) you're very lucky though you can be induced and have a water birth, we can't here.

I've just found out today I might have pre-eclampsia so they took some blood and said come back tomorrow for the results and to re check BP, then will do a sweep too so hopefully everything is favourable!!

I also have group B strep that nobody bothered to tell me about until last minute so I can't go to the birth centre and might miss out on my water birth too. If they'd have told me at the time it was done early July I could have prepared myself for it by now, I'm SO annoyed!
Really want to meet my girl now, bit scared of the pain though!

Emsabub- I developed pre eclamsia my 40th week of pregnancy, and had to be induced right away ... Everything turned out fine though and I was ready for baby to be here anyhow !! It's scary, but I just concentrated on doing exactly what the doctor told me to do and how he told me to do it and everything worked out :)

Oh no Emsabub how frustrating on both counts. Hoping you don't have PE, keep us posted!
You'll soon forget any pain once you're holding your little one, although I do distinctly remember being on the bed after having DD & thinking ouch! Also, they check for internal tears afterwards which nobody told me, really wasn't a fan of that having just pushed out a large baby 🙈🙈

Good luck with the sweep, I've been googling induction all afternoon which was a terrible idea!

1nce - they did mention it but because I was only showing one sign being my high BP, and the fact it was slowly coming down anyway, they gave me the choice. Induction scares me to be honest, that's why I think everyone who takes it is so brave! I'm so glad to hear it all worked out for you though :)

Cazran, everyone says the same it'll all be different once you're holding baby😍
But the idea of being checked straight after that isn't very nice, even if it might be a little more roomy to look, if not sore!! Ouch.. But I think being pregnant or TTC, Google is our worst enemy🙈 Yet we still can't resist, I can't anyway :haha:

Any sign of your little one yet?

I was induced with my second and it was honestly not bad at all. The worst part was it took them three times to get the IV in and I almost passed out because they were digging around for my vein with the needle. I walked around the entire time, had terrible back labor as I did with my first, when I finally did push he came out in three pushes. Really want a water birth this time but i can only have one if I go into labor before Sunday...

I am just in the worse mood ever today! Snapped at my mum earlier which is very unlike me, DD has been super grumpy all afternoon (in bed now finally) so now I need to summon the energy to cook dinner for me & DH.
The tiredness is fine because I know that won't improve for the foreseeable but absolutely dreading next week as I've got limited childcare help for DD but at least one if not two sweeps booked. And it's my birthday a week today & everyone will be at work 😔

Feeling very sorry for myself & wishing these braxton hicks would p*ss off lol

No signs of anything today and I'm feeling fed up!!! This waiting and not knowing when something will happen is driving me crazy! I'm not even getting much in the way of BH which I had really intense with both my previous pregnancies... Boo the anticipation is too much!!

Cazran that sounds a little stressful! My childcare isn't as easy next week either as my mum goes back to work (she's on school holiday at the mo), so I'd really really like the baby to arrive before Monday!!!

Hi ladies!

Just to update, there was no sign of pre eclampsia so I'm guessing my high BP was because of the heat we had yesterday. they attempted a sweep but my cervix is closed shut (so annoyed!!) so she told me to get her moved down to put pressure on and make something happen. Got another booked for Monday and can have a 3rd if I want to but then if they fail my induction is arranged for Saturday 10th :( I'm so hoping baby decides she wants to come out sooner!!

I've got mine Monday, I'm so nervous they are going to tell me similar (ie cervix closed/unreachable)

Really good news it's not PE though, one less thing to worry about.

I'm pretty sure that'll be the date they book me for too, it'll be a baby race lol x
