Let the August Babies Be Born!

My waters broke last night and contractions never did pick up, so I'm in the hospital now to be induced. My last induction wasn't bad, hoping this one goes well! I think I'm probably at 40w5d not 42w1d. I had one sweep, three attempts over all but my cervix was always high and closed. Last two were like that, everything picked up fast.

I had my 2nd sweep today and even though it had moved forward and slightly down, it was still closed
So unless she helps to open it up I'll be induced this Saturday, hurry up baby!!

Good luck! I am still here on pitocin, hoping I get there soon. None of my sweeps really helped much, gave me contractions and lost plug but never brought labor on. Everyone is different!

I had my little one this morning at 1:30 AM after hours of pitocin. As I expected it went slow until I hit about 7 cm then I needed to push about half an hour after that, only for a couple minutes and out she came! Finally have a girl after team yellow, this is my third and final baby as well. I'm also pretty sure I was right on the dates because she was was smaller than her brothers, no way was she over 42 weeks along. Coming in at 8lb8oz and 20 inches. Hope you ladies have your little bundles soon!

Freddie & Emsabub really hoping you get to meet your little ones soon, only a matter of days now (although I would be climbing the walls if it was me!) gutted I missed my friends birthday but got a family party this weekend I can now make and I got to take my daughter to preschool this morning 😍😍

Thanks Cazran, me too 😔 I'm booked for induction on Saturday and my partner starts his new job Monday so I know she'll wait and he'll only get to spend a couple days with her 😔 I'm so annoyed & frustrated!!

I've noticed I'm having an increase in BH and especially when sat down, I can feel them whereas I couldn't before. Sometimes they come with an ache but others not, I'm desperately hoping my body is starting to get ready!!

Sounds promising! I've had a few bouts of strong BH and some period like cramping over the past few days... I keep thinking it could be something starting but they haven't developed into anything yet grrrr! But I'm trying to reassure myself that at some stage they'll progress!! Right?! Lol. While trying to push aside the doubts in my mind that are wondering if this baby will actually ever come on its own... Boo hoo!

They HAVE to progress at some point but it's just, when will they?! Do you have an induction planned?

No, mw offered to book one in at my last appointment but I said I wasn't ready for that yet! She said once I reach 42 weeks they'll have me in for daily monitoring. I really don't want an induction. I just pray baby comes before any pressure is put on! I do have a sweep booked for Monday though (I'll be 13 days over by then - omg!) so I hope that will do the trick if baby hasn't made its arrival by then. How about you? Had any sweeps or booked an induction?

I'm glad you had the strength to turn one down! I've had two sweeps that failed because my cervix wasn't ready but induction is booked for two days away..
It's not just impatience, I'm uncomfortable. I just want her here now.

Edit - I did wake up to a contraction an hour ago but have had a few more since, one of which didn't seem to go away when I moved so maybe they're not braxton hicks 😮 She can't come yet though, I'm having my ears syringed tomorrow so it would be typical!

Ooh sounds exciting! Ha that would be typical for baby to arrive on the day you have something to do! I have my son's birthday party on Sunday and I'm worried I'll end up going into labour on that day and miss it!!!

I hope he has a lovely birthday! Having two on the same day will be a bit odd at first, I share my birthday with my youngest brother, he wasn't far off being born at my 4th birthday party!

His birthday isn't actually til the 18th but because of hubby's work we are doing the party the week before... I thought for sure we'd be safe considering it is TWELVE days past my due date lol! Little did I know!! I really hope this baby isn't waiting to share his birthday lol!! Yes keep me updated! Is this your first?

Well I can't blame you for trying to being safe by having it early! Baby's trying to get in on the plans, can't miss anything!

It is my first. I've been having these pains now for 10 hours on and off, but because I'm GBS+ I have no clue when to speak to the hospital.

So exciting! I remember how surreal it felt waiting for my first (nearly 4 years ago now!) Hmmm I don't know anything about gbs.. Do you have to go in early or something then? Both my previous labours started 2 days over due date (although ds1 actually finally arrived 4 days over!) So this long wait for something to start is new for me!!
