Sorry if i sound rude, but does anyone else think that when other people say they can see lines clearly they are

alot of tests i cant see anything yet people say they can when it looks totally white to me, so confused.. i dont have trouble with my eyes, and i really do hope all of these white areas happen to get lines and wishing every one on to their bfp but i also think that people would rather u said no than saying their is something there and them being gutted afterwards? i kno i would rather people said no there isn't one maybe its too early keep testing rather than holding on to hope?

anyone else in this boat??

I agree, sometimes I really don't see anything at all... but I think maybe our different computer screens have something to do with that as well. Most of the time, when I look through the hpt threads on this board... when people say they see something, they're mostly right. Somewhere further down, the original poster will usually follow up with a certain positive a few days later.

So, I dunno what it is.. sometimes I see something in the pictures when others say they don't.. sometimes they apparently see what I don't see. I really think computer screens are the biggest culprit.

yeah i suppose you may be right.. i look my hardest though at times and im like i just cant see anything lol, and i really want to especially when people say they see it clearly... really hope urs is a :bfp: btw!

To me if you have to invert the picture or tilt your screen then it isn't a BFP (which actually stands for big FAT positive). I can hardly call it fat when it's not visible through a photo. I agree....most times I just don't see what some see....and I always post what I honestly see as to not get others hopes up.

agreed.. i will say if i dont see something as i think it needs to be said. and very true. if u do need to mess with the picture to c, it obviously isnt all that visible!

ok. let me just say this. when people post their tests...they are asking for an opinion. if I see a line and someone else doesn't...it's an OPINION. I'm not going to lie and say I see a line if I don't. There isn't anything wrong with your eyes if you DON'T see the line but there isn't anything wrong with someone elses eyes if they DO see a line. Eyes DO see different things...just saying.

yup i agree, that why we have polls to, the viewing gallery is great :) a good place for opionions on tests!

I don't know - interesting topic.

My first BFP (FRER) you had to tilt the screen to see - some people saw it, some didn't. . .IRL I could see it, and the next day it was plain as day. No matter what, I didn't believe that first faint one that required a screen tilt.

I think that sometimes, it's a legit squinter (see below). . .and sometimes we start to fool ourselves because on most tests you can see the antibody strip - looking through the forums here I'd guess that 60%+ of the 'squinters' turn up as BFN's, so it's really really hard to tell.

Anyways, for reference, here was my screen tilter. Maybe you can see it, maybe you can't. . .but if you do see it, there is a big difference between this and an antibody strip. . .but unless all our monitors are calibrated the same it's super hard to tell!

We all want (or wanted) a BFP SO BAD that we tend to see things that aren't there. . .I don't like to say I see a line unless I really do see one. As a professional photographer my screen is HUGE and color calibrated though. . .so I think I see some lines better than others? Or at least I can tell better if it's real or not? I've been wrong in the past though!

Sometimes peoples LCD hi definition screens are better than others an they truly do see things! So it depends on your computer screen as well to become a factor in you see it or you dont scenarios!

I just smile, ttc is sooooo stressful, and hoping for a line to show is so hard!

So if some one " sees" something, then I won't argue with them. I just say that I hope the line gets darker... Cause when ttc, all the dream squashers really sucked for me!
And I hated the q " are you pregnant yet?"
So letting people hope is ok with me as long as they don't take an evap a bfp and buy a whole house of clothes for the evap!

@mommabill ye i know it is opinions, i just really cant see some lines, and feel quite bad now for saying i dont when other people do and they genuinely are probably bfp. sorry if i sounded as if i was being funny.. i wasnt.

@ouverture is that ur bfp? i totally dont see it, god i must be terrible.. im dreading doing my own tests now, maybe i shud just post them on here and let everyone else tell me, cause i probably won't see my own line if i do get one. lol

maybe i should totally get off this thread as i am totally useless at line spotting obviously :(

Ive been in a few arguments on here because I asked this same thing on some threads in this section, many members dont like others to say the tests are negative and they think its rude. I have a very high resolution large screen for my work, and often puzzled when people are saying they see something as I definitely dont. I think sometimes people see a shadow or optical illusion from the control line, thats the only reason I can figure out why they see something.

In my mind you dont have to invert, darken or hold up to the light a proper bfp. and doing those things often just shows the line where the test line will go. sometimes people see something in real life and post on here and we cant see it. but then the next few days it will get darker to something we can see. so those threads can start off with people saying 'I cant see anything' then end up a bfp.

but theres been 3 recent threads on here where theres pages and pages of negative tests, and people still are saying 'I see something' and 'congrats'. these people always end up not pregnant. those are the threads that if people try to bring some reality to the thread that issues start. Im just not going to reply to anyone that I can see is negative, not worth the hassle.

Some people will freak out and accuse you of being negative if you call something a BFN or an evap. I've seen it happen.

They've created an environment saying that this is for "support" when really this section of the board would be better geared toward being for "information." Some women have been very rude to others and have told them not to answer if they can't be "nice" when all they're really looking for is for a lot of women to tell them what they want to hear. It's so very, very sad.

It really, really, does not help anybody (especially in the long run) to tell someone they have a BFP and start congratulating them if it looks more like an evap or a faulty test.

There is no need for anyone to get offended if someone tells you a test is an evap or a false positive. The longer you TTC, the more you test...the more you see that this is true.

It's not the line on the test that makes us pregnant, anyway. Regardless of what the test says, you're either pregnant or you're not!

I have to say I completely agree andella ...

In my own opinion when I post my test pics, all I want is for people to be honest with me, regardless of what they see, and if they say bfn or evap, then I thank them for taking the time to look at my tests and giving me their opinion. Getting narky doesn't help anything and in some ways I think if you can't handle people telling you that they don't see anything then you shouldn't really be posting pics in the first place

emmyreece andella and sarahincanada
totally agree with everything said!

i will say if i dont see it, and haven't had anyone complain yet, as i am just giving my opinion! and do not want to give anyone false hope.
I'm beginning to wonder if i did a test when i knew i wasnt pregnant and posted it on here whether i would actually have people tell me they could see something, which is the total wrong way to go about it imo.

ha, that would be funny, hay! But I suppose if you did that, you'd get a lot of negative comments once found out ;-)

thats very true, and now ive just said it i dont think ill do it now haha! but wud have been interesting!

I posted a test to show an evap - it was taken midcylcle and I clearly stated that I wasn't pregnant.

I had a lot of people telling me it must've been implantation bleeding, because my test looked BFP. (But it didn't, it was a typical evap, lol.)

lol it is bad when u think about it, these poor women holding on to the hope that someone did see something! wel im out this month lol. af arrived today, early. so its all very annoying.. but oh well on to the next cycle! :)

hello, im sorry i dont agree, seeing as this is a discussion i decided to join in, quote "these poor women holding on to the hope that someone did see something! wel im out this month lol. af arrived today, early. so its all very annoying.. but oh well on to the next cycle! ....
i dont think any ladies TTc are poor women we are all on here for the same reason, and i dont think putting up pics and LOL at peoples evaps or lines "you" cant see is very nice, ladies who take the time on putting pics clearly are looking for opionions, nobody knows who answers the thread knows 100% is not positive or negaitive, u cant judge everyone on just because u seen or read it on 1000's of otherpost everyone is different, TTC is hard enough without negativity and putting up posts of evaps and taking the u no what, im not saying you should say u see something when u dont, but i dont find it funny and make a discussion about other ladies threads and what u cant see...and i certainly wouldnt put it in the "gallery" section for other ladies to see who are putting up there pictures, its a viewing gallery. sorry if u dont agree, its just my opioion,
