--Lion Cubs - Mummy and Baby Group!-- We are all One Year Old!

thanks shiv, this is what a lot of people have said, i think i will go with my heart on this one and give it a miss, im sure she'd look lovely but she does already lol! That and the fact i cant even go with her when she has her jabs, so god knows how id manage sitting there and watching her suffer, knowing it was MY fault lol! xxx

Ross and I have talked about it and I can not imagine sitting her down and making someone punch a hole in my baby girls ears :( I want her to tell me she wants it done, and when she makes her mind up about it, we will do it, no sooner though :) Its her body, she can make the choice of when she wants to decorate it

Where is Boothh I was hoping Samuel would get to go on the title  We had a fab time for his birthday, lots of presents and fun had by all. You've probably all seen the pictures and videos on fb so I won't post again. He has a cold now poor poppet so all the excitement has been forgotten apart from the tornado that has gone through my house everyday since with the all the new toys being played with every five minutes :dohh:

As for piercing ears in a baby I'm really against it. I know people that have chosen not to get their ears done and if you do it as a baby you take away that choice. Plus I don't like the look sorry, and mainly what if they catch it on something and rip their ear (like my husband did). I could never forgive myself.

sorry iv been avoiding the thread,

i had my ears pierced when i was 18months, and my mum said i didnt cry at all and was happy when they put me on the postman pat ride outside, i know a girl that got her babys done at 8weeks though which i think is pretty angin, i think 1yr is an okay time to get it done and i was always glad i already had mine done when my friends were scared about getting theres, if i had a girl id get hers done around this age x

I'm highly against ear piercing in babies. If Emma wants it, she'll ask for it. My own ear ripped when I was about 5 from it being pierced too young. The doctor said it happens way more than people realize because your ears continue to grow and the piercing can grow to the bottom of the ear. Which is what mine did until it just ripped out completely. I would never ever do that to Emma. I don't think it looks cute on babies anyways. It makes them look older than what they really are and I think in this society kids dress like they are much older too which I hate. Why can't kids just be kids anymore?

As for AF cycles. Mine is longer than before! Boo to you girls that have a shorter cycle now!! :D I used to have a 28 day and now its a 30 day. :( But mine have always been like clockwork. Which makes it easy to freak out if I miss a day. :haha:

cleck - i think over here they pierce pretty far up, mine are alright and iv never heard of anyone elses doing that and its the normal thing to do around here, maybe they pierced yours too low down?
tbh i dont really care what anybody else thinks about it, i would get my toddlers ears done, dont think id get them done when they tiny but 1 or 2 years old i would, iv had them pierced again and had other piercings and imo they dont hurt if done correctly, x

Hi everyone:flower:

I dont normally post just read lol but wanted to say THANK YOU! to Booth for still bothering to put Kiera's birthday on the thread!!!

I cant believe its been a whole year since all our wee bubbas where born! its been super fast imo:wacko:. Think i was in denial lol didnt want my wee baby to be a big 1yr old:blush: Anyways a very Happy 1st year to all the lion cubs!! xxx

I personally wouldn't pierce Kira's ears- thats something she should have done when and if she's ever ready. I actually didn't do mine till I was 18, and my mom went with me and had hers done too!

maybe its just different areas etc, it seems alot more common were i am from, x

Thanks for putting it up Boothh :yipee:, why you avoiding the thread?? You sound a little pissed off?

Boothh i think it could definitely be where you are from. But I am from an area where people do it a lot too but I still don't agree with it. :haha: I'm always the odd man out. I think that is part of the reason there are so many debates on here though. Like the circumcision threads. It's just usually automatically done here and it's what is the 'norm' but none the the UK girls seem to accept that. :haha: Different strokes for different folks. :D

yeah i suppose so! imo though sticking an extremely sharp needle through your ear causes 5seconds of pain, but to me circumcising a baby seems much much much worse, im sure that would be alot more painful than a little ear piercing, :S
so in a way i wouldnt be able to understand someone that was against one but not the other if you know what i mean?

i respect everyones opinion though and people can do/think what they want aslong as they let me do the same! :)

pippin - i am abit pissed off but i dont want to get into an argument or make anyone feel awkward, so im not going to get into it,

Fair play Boothh, hope you feel happier soon. :hugs2:

I think little girls look cute with pierced ears, but not until they're five or so. I might get Mog's done then, but OH probably wouldn't let me.

Bought Imogen her first quilt and pillow set, and our first baby gate. Imogen hates it and cries at me if I leave her for a second at the moment. Hope she gets over this separation anxiety soon. She's always fine when I leave her at the childminders, it's just if I leave her in the living room while I make a bottle or something, she gets hysterical.

Ergo carrier arrived this morning, and it's brilliant APART from trying to get Imogen into it. I suppose that's something I'll get better at with practice. It's really comfy though, I can position the waist strap really low down on my pelvis, so it doesn't restrict my tummy. I really love the grey one with stars - I bought a second hand one, as they're expensive new and I wanted to see how I got on with it. Might ask my friend who lives in New York to pick me up one there and bring it over next time he visits.

Boothh, sorry wasn't thinking. Will be a bit less thoughtless in future.

I agree Booth, to each his own. I think every parent does what they want and we have no room to judge or say anything :) We are all different :hugs: Dont be pissed, be happy :D lol

LOL Cleckner- we think the same. I was going to mention that ear piercing is a good topic for debate like circumcision.

AE- I've heard great things about the Ergo carrier. I should look into getting one since I don't have any carriers that are still comfortable to lug Kira around in.

Today we had another playdate :happydance: This time it was at my friends house and the 1st time Kira has played anywhere besides home or my mom's. She screamed as soon as we walked through the door :dohh: but after 20 minutes of snuggles she wiggled off me and happily played! I was so proud of her! The 2 other girls are 16 months and 2 1/2, but they all played together quite happily.

Boothh- I totally agree. But sadly I know some people that are against ear piercing but have no problems circumcising. It doesn't make much sense really. For me I'm against both because I see no reason to cause any sort of pain towards my babies. Ear piercing for me was much more than a little bit of pain because I also went on to have 14 stitches. And my friend who pierced her babies ears, the baby kept getting the earrings caught on stuff and they'd bleed. It's all a judgement call really. Just like everything else we do. :D I hope your okay hun. I don't know what your pissed about but I hope it wasn't something I said. :flower:

Pippin- Yay for seeing your LO!! :happydance: You'll have to post a piccie up in here for us to see. :D

Aunty E- Emma has clingy days too. It's so difficult to get anything done. I have definitely found by wearing Emma around the house it makes things SO much easier. I can just feel her entire body relax once she's put in the carrier. And than she just lays her head on my chest and watches everything I do. :cloud9: I'm gonna have to google the ergo carriers. I think I know what kind your talking about but I'm not 100% sure. :haha:

Heidi- :wave::haha:

AFU, the playdate went awesome yesterday. I met with a girl that I've met from this site. I really like her and her kids are so sweet. She has 3 kids and is pregnant again now. :D Brave woman! Her youngest is 2 days younger than Emma so they are cute to see together. She walks too so yesterday they were getting into stuff together. :haha: Than we all took the dogs to the park because they have a meet there every day. Emma went nuts. She was all over the place and was full of grins for everyone there and kept trying to catch the little dogs. I thought she wouldn't be able to walk because it was grass but she did it like it was nothing. So I'm definitely getting her shoes when DH gets home next week. :happydance: Also, this morning I got to skype with my brother and niece. My niece is now 4 months old and just about as big as Emma is now. But it's amazing seeing her and remembering that Emma was that age not very long ago. She started squealing really loud and it made me remember when Emma went through that stage.:D

Posted at the same time spidey. :flower: I'm glad Kira had a good playdate too!! Emma is the exact same way when coming into a new place or around new people. She gets really upset. Actually she clings to me like a baby monkey for a good 30 minutes usually before finally warming up enough to go play. :dohh:

Happy Anniversary to you and the hubby Sam!!!!!! :hugs:

Glad the play date went well Spidey :) Sounds like it just took her a bit to warm up and get relaxed, glad she did though :D

Glad you found a good person to have play dates with Sam lol :p It sounds like Emma had a blast!

AFU- Today we are cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, shampooing all the carpets, scrubbing the floors, etc, IT SMELLS SO GOOD in here :lmao: Its about time, my place was like a friggin war zone. Daddy took Caylee to the park, she fell a lot and came home with scratches and scuff marks, but Ross said she didnt cry at all and she had a lot of fun, so..go baby go lol. Shes a tough little girl. We are going to have family day once she gets up, maybe go to Dairy Queen and just play as much as we can, Ross has been so busy he has only seen Caylee for like an hour a day the past 6 days, its been tough :(
No baby yet, still waiting haha. I think I am going into labor every damn day, I am annoying my sister and mom with the 24242 phone calls lol
