--Lion Cubs - Mummy and Baby Group!-- We are all One Year Old!

I gotta keep this thread going. :D

So this is going to be spidey's favorite post from me because she can nosy at my house.

Emma's new toybox showed up last week but I was lazy and didn't post pictures yet.

So here's my living room and her new toybox:

Here's Emma's room now. Just her kitchen stuff and the toy box has stuffed animals in it so that is the only toys upstairs now. And her little piano and rocking horse.

And for fun. My room. We do have a bed that matches the other furniture but I didn't like having the headboard covering the window so we just have our mattresses on the floor and the bed frame and headboard is in the garage.

My exercise/craft room. So anytime you hear me talk about exercising you know I'm in here. :haha: It's really cramped in there and is by far the messiest room in my house, but I try to keep some sort of order in there.

And my kitchen.

HAHAHAHAH GOT YOU!!! :muaha::rofl::rofl::rofl:

hahahahhaha that made me laugh so much! your house is very organised! Do you have 2 matresses on top of eachother, otherwise your matresses are superhigh!

oh and this is the bed we are thinking of buying for Sophia, what do you guys think?

Nope it's a boxspring under the mattress. They are really tall though. The mattress is a pillowtop so that makes it a bit taller as well.

I REALLY like that bed for Sophia. Those pull out boxes would be really handy to have! And the bed itself is low enough to the ground that she shouldn't have any issues getting in and out of it.

Wow your house looks super neat and tidy . and you are even giving a home to the mobidly obese too :haha:

My first thought was ....oooh, it's my lucky day, I got to peek in all the rooms and now I get to peek in the kitchen too!... and then BAM, dreams ruined

Okay, tons of observations and questions LOL! Are those books or dvd's in your livingroom? Quite a collection! I also can see how the sliding door to the back yard is right in Emma's play area, so she can really have a great time using the backyard as her play space too. I LOVE your sofa! Whenever we walk thru a furniture store I oooh and aaaah over that type of sectional with a chaise at the end. It really is my dream sofa! Your bedroom is really nice too- I like the purple and white. If you didn't say anything, I would have assumed you had a platform bed since both your beds are so high off the ground. We slept on a mattress on the floor while DH was building our current bed, and it was sooo trashy since it was obviously a mattress laying on the floor smashed into the corner :haha: In your craft room, what are in those large 3-ring binders on the shelf (gosh, I am soooooo nosey!).. I am imagining they are scrapbooks. I have a room that is my craft room too but it hasn't gotten much use since Kira came around. When you co-sleep in your bed, do you do anything to prevent Emma from rolling off the other side?

Shiv- that is a great bed. Like what Cleckner said, the under-bed storage is great and a perfect height so if she falls out she won't hurt herself. Shiv, you MUST take pictures of your new house once you're settled in so I can nose around :haha:

I'm gonna have to quote this one so I can remember all the questions.

My first thought was ....oooh, it's my lucky day, I got to peek in all the rooms and now I get to peek in the kitchen too!... and then BAM, dreams ruined

Okay, tons of observations and questions LOL! Are those books or dvd's in your livingroom? They are DVDs. And we actually have enough to fill the empty shelves as well but I hid the ones in Emma's reach and am just now slowly adding them back and she is learning they aren't toys. She goes in time out after 3 warnings when trying to rip them down so now she very rarely even touches them.Quite a collection! We just bought that sofa after moving here. We were very specific in what we wanted because we learned from our mistakes from our first set. For example, our first set the cushions would always have to be repositioned and it had big pillows as the backing and that was what you'd lean against so we always had to rearrange the pillows to keep them just right. But this couch everything is attached and the cracks in between cushions are all sewn together. You can't lose anything in the cracks because there literally is no deep crack. It looks like they are separate cushions that you sit on but it's all one giant piece and the 'cracks' are only an inch down if that makes sense. It is amazing. So no more repositioning of anything and no more removing cushions to clean. It's also microfiber so it spot cleans so easily with a towel and water. You are right they are scrapbooks. The white ones are ones my mom made for me. My entire life from birth to my senior year of highschool. There are 4 black binders that are scrapbooks I've done of our yearly vacations starting in 2007. I still need to do our san francisco vacation but it's SO hard to do with Emma around. :dohh: I have a room that is my craft room too but it hasn't gotten much use since Kira came around. When you co-sleep in your bed, do you do anything to prevent Emma from rolling off the other side? Nope I don't use anything to prevent Emma from falling. And she's fell about 5 times but not recently. She only fell when she was first learning to crawl but now she knows how to get on and off and she doesn't really move too much in her sleep.:D

haha, I know what you mean about sofa's. My last sofa was in a constant state of droopiness since the cushions could come all the way off. It drove me NUTS! I made sure my current sofa had attached cushions and it's sooo much better. I still would love a sectional with chaise though :haha:

Bathtub poops have started back up again :happydance: :haha: At this point I don't care if poops are in the bathtub or on the floor- as long as Kira poops I am happy.

So I've been looking at doll houses for Kira's birthday present.

There is this one, which doesn't come with furniture, but it's something Kira could use her imagination with for years to come. I would buy the furniture sets separately, but I could start her out with a few pieces of furniture and buy more throughout the year. Or I could get her grandparents to buy the furniture for her birthday present.

And this one comes with furniture and is much cheaper overall.

I was just looking at dollhouses too after you guys brought it up! For her NEXT birthday though, I'm just planning ahead. I LOVE the kidkraft ones. They are all really nice and the reviews are amazing on them. I like one called 'kayla' but it's not on the amazon website. I think you should go with the kidkraft one. :D They fit barbies too which is what I wanted for Emma. I love barbies. :haha:

Edit: Just looked at your link of the kidkraft one again and that specific one doesn't fit barbies though. So you'd have to get a different type of doll for it. I still think it's gorgeous though. :flower:

Oh yeah, Yay for pooping again!!!

Emma actually pooped in the bathtub for the first time ever a few weeks ago. It's my own fault for giving her prunes. The poor girl couldn't hold it in. She completely flipped out when it happened. I feel bad for her. It was a shitty day. (Pun intended)

Yay for poop - maybe the warm water helps her to go?

I love both of those dolls houses. I like the idea of getting one with only a bit of furniture and then you can choose bits to buy with Kira for future birthdays and treats and build up the collection.

I was never a really girly girl when I was little os wasn't a big fan of dolls or barbie etc, so ithasn't even crossed my mind to buy one for Sophia. Naughty Mummy - must think girly!

ooo.. was it a wet poo? Kira only poops large turds, so they're easy to fish out.

I looked at more kidcraft doll houses... this one is so neat!

https://www.amazon.com/KidKraft-65252-Majestic-Dollhouse/dp/B0042F99PG/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1306067514&sr=8-6

It's really large and I have no idea where I would put it, but it has the potential of being really fun for many years.

I never liked barbies or dolls. I was a stuffed animal girl and I loved 'My Little Ponies'. With a big doll house, barbies, ponies, or beanie babies could play in it

Now THAT is a dollshouse! David would buy that for Sophia in an instant if he saw it, but it does look massive!

spidey- I was eyeing that dollhouse too! But you'd have to have a spot planned out in order to find room for it. :haha: It's AMAZING though!!! I think I would play with it more than Emma would.

haha, I would play with it more than Kira too :haha: I might try to get DH excited about the doll house and maybe he'll agree to make little furniture for it. I really want to turn the dining room into a playroom (so then I can have this dollhouse!). Right now the dining room has a large table pushed against the wall which we use as the changing table, a computer desk with DH's gaming computer, and a fireplace. DH made the table and it's made from Mahogany so we can't sell it easily because the wood makes the table expensive. But I would love to get a smaller computer desk and then move Kira's toy cube shelf into that room, along with her kitchen and future dollhouse. On the floor I would put a nice soft rug to play on. It could be sooo nice!!

That's a beautiful room! I love the floor in there. Do you have a spot to sit and eat besides this room than?

We have a little nook in the kitchen that has enough room for us all to eat at- me, DH, Kira and 1 more kid (2 more kids if we sit close). The dining table is too large to fit in the kitchen nook though. In the past 12 months, we've eaten at that table twice.. once for Thanksgiving and once for Kira's birthday. Originally we intended to eat all our meals in the dining room, but the kitchen nook table is easier since its right in the kitchen where the food is made. Now I just have to get DH on board for making it the playroom

I am 100% set on having a butterfly theme for Kira's party!

I've been looking to see what I can buy, and so far I found these:
https://www.bugs-n-blooms.com/images/pink-shimmer-b.gif
They are huge cloth butterflies that can be hung from things, so I want to buy a few and use them to decorate the room.

I also decided to only make cupcakes and to put toppers on them like these:
https://www.bundleofbeauty.com/ekmps/shops/bundleofbeauty/images/flying-friends-butterfly-cupcake-topper-cupcake-picks-12ct-7499-p.jpg
I'm going to make them myself so I have no idea what they'll really look like. To make my cupcakes look fancy, I want to buy one of those tiered cupcake towers.

I'll also make a banner (like what Cleckner made) but incorporate butterflies.

Oh, and I found a cute set of plates and cups here:
https://www.orientaltrading.com/butterfly-party-theme-a2-PT189.fltr

I'm starting to get excited about it! Now I need to decide if I want to buy a dollhouse, or get something else.
