--Lion Cubs - Mummy and Baby Group!-- We are all One Year Old!

Real quick, just about to feed my monster! Ruby, it does sound like he's hungry, and now that he's over a month I'd say give the hungry baby stuff a go :) Vince got a bit constipated on it when we first used it, but we went back to it when he was a bit older and now he's great on it. I think it definitely helps! I'd say have a go :)

Quick message for the ones I can remember. I haven't had AF either and Natasha was 6 weeks on Saturday.

Ruby: I would try the hungry baby food, if there is a problem you can always go back.

Shadow: So glad Lee got to see Finlay and delighted it went so well.

Vici: Welcome back, delighted you had a good holiday.

Bun: You mad thing, hope you get your positive test - I would rather you than me though.

I know thats only the last few posts but I may run again girls as we have visitors again. Talk to you all soon. Xx

Hehe how cute are we, popping in so quickly to make sure everyone knows we're thinking of each other?! :D Hope everyone is ok, if busy busy busy with our little monkeys!

I have more leisure now to post properly cos Vince is in bed :wohoo: hehe... We've tried him in his sleeping bag tonight (which I always looked at before he was born and thought "god, this thing is huge! He'll never fit in it!" And predictably now he's only just in it for the first time tonight and he FILLS it up!! Won't last long, that's for sure!!) Hoping that he can sleep without being swaddled! Guess we'll find out, but so far so good :)

Cleck, it's wonderful to hear from you again, and especially to hear how well you and Emma are doing! A massive well done for getting to exclusive BF, I know how hard you've worked for that, you must be so proud of yourself  I'm thinking more and more that I want to try BF again with our next one (lol, yes, planning the next one already like many of you, but OH needs a bit of convincing still!!) I think maybe it's because the pain of the BF and the difficulty has faded from my memory a lot now, but I really think if I tried it again next time that I'd know what I was in for much more. And of course every baby is different, right? So it might be a bit easier next time...? Saw your vid in the album thread, and like I said in there, Emma is BEAUTIFUL! But then I'm sure you know that :winkwink: Good for you on the co-sleeping still, I couldn't have done that for too much longer than we did with Vince, I really need my space in bed to get comfy or I really don't sleep well!! Great to have you back chick, hope you find the time to pop in every now and then :)

OC, good to see you too, I hope the FF goes well for you and that you're happy with your choice, as I was :) Hope the nips heal up soon too, blisters sound awful!

Costgang, lol @ missing work! I don't work cos of my disability, so I don't know what it's like to go out to a job each day, but it sounds liek you have the right kind of job if it makes you so happy!! Must be nice to get some time for yourself in a way when you go back to work.

Jelr, thanks for your messages on FB honey, hope the steroids are going ok. And I hope the visitors aren't driving you too crazy, we seem to have the balance about right in our house, when visitors do come it feels like it's just enough time between visits to not go mad with it all!! OH's mum and gran are coming round tomorrow, and I think it'll be nice :) And my mum will be back from France for the winter this Friday, which I'm REALLY looking forward to! But hope you're not exhausting yourself with too many visitors, make sure you rest enough girlie!!

Lots of love to everyone :) Becki, hope you're still around honey!!

Shadow xxx

(P.S. Vince still quiet in his sleeping bag since I started writing this, so looking good so far, touch wood!)

Shadow- aww about him almost growing out of his sleepbag already. We use one with Emma almost every night. She loves them. But hers are still too big.

Does anyone else's babies still fit in newborn clothes? Cause Emma is still in her newborn clothes. LOL! She is over 9 lbs but real tall and skinny instead of short and chubby. She is out of newborn diapers though. We used 330 newborn diapers. I kept count. I wanted to count so with our next baby we have somewhat of an idea of what we're getting into diaper wise. I'm not brave enough to use cloth like some of you girls. I just can't see having the time to wash and reuse like that. I'm home alone most of the time so keeping up with just normal laundry is hard enough as it is. hehe.

Bun- Ohh let us know when you find out if your pregnant or not!! I keep getting envious with all these friends saying they are pregnant. Weird to feel that way but I do! My brother and his wife are gonna have a baby in April! Seems so far from now.

Awwww Cleck, bless little Emma, she's a teeny little thing isn't she?? How many weeks is she now? Vince is 10 weeks today and weighs over 14lb! He's also very "tall" but he's tall and stocky rather than tall and skinny! He's certainly not "fat", just nice and healthy I think hehe!! And on the newbornclothes, he was out of them in about a week  He's in mostly 3-6 months stuff now, but some stuff is over 6 months (he has a few babygrows with labels that say "12 months" or even "18 months" !! )

Just a quick visit as i'm off out to have my hair done then DF and I are goinf to the pictures. Grandma is babysitting :D

Just wanted to tell you all Imi was weighed today and is 11lb 11oz!!!:wacko::happydance::happydance::happydance:

Hi everyone!

Cleck - Emma is gorgeous! Sophia is till in newborn clothes - just! I reckon she'll be too big bythe end of the week!

Shadow - Vince certainly doesn't look fat at all - nice and healthy! I worry about Sophia getting fat - I know they say you can't ver feed a breast fed baby - but she is such a guzzler and regularly puts on 9oz a week! eek!

Vici - what film did you go and see? I am venturing out with Sophia to a parent and baby screenign of "the invention of lying" tomorrow!

Sophia has been having a growth spurt the last few days and has been feeding every hour and not sleeping at all - but this mornign she let me lie in until 10 (after her 7am feed) and then had a big feed at 11am, then she has been asleep in her chair for the last 2 hours!! In which time I have baked a cake and grabbed myself some lunch! soooooooooooo I am hoping that is growth spurt over and she is now doing her actual growing (rather than eatting!) Saying that she is stirring now so I best be off!

Shadow - you must be thrilled to be getting your mum back in the country - does she live near you when she is back?

Have a nice day everyone x
Oh and hi OC - nice to hear from you!

Well hello there ladies!

Its been a very very long time!

Good to see you are all well, havent got much time, so i cant reply to you all individually :(

just an update really!

Kara and I are doing great! She was weighed last Thursday and she is a whopping 10lb 2oz's!!!! She's still in newborn clothes, first size and even the odd tiny baby lol! She's tall and skinny though, with a big chubby face! My poor girlie has got a cold at the moment though :(

Took her to the doctors yesterday, and the doctor said that there's nothing wrong!! :growlmad::growlmad::growlmad: FFS, the poor girl is so snuffly, cried alllllll day and night on saturday and sunday, didnt even get a straight 20 minutes of sleep! Anyway we stocked up in boots yesterday on all things cold relief related, she's now 3 months old, so most 'over counter' things are ok for her - THANKFULLY!

well 9 weeks until me and David start TTC for number 2! and i cannot wait! We've just got a brand spanking new 2 bedroomed house, its beautiful girls, with a nice big back garden and a block paved driveway, nice big patio doors into the kitchen, and two bathrooms! I finally got to decorate my baby girls nursery, and i cried when we finished it! We officially move in on saturday coming, and i cant wait to get in!

Its been really tough with moving and poorly baby, but its so been worth it!

Anyway i'm going to get some pics up on here for you all to see how Kara is getting on, and of course some pics of the house up to now! i'll put them in the lioncubs photo gallery though, so have a peek later if you are interested!

lots of love from me and Kara xxxxxx

Cleck - archie is still in newborn though he is only a month old!! he was 8lbs 6oz at birth and is 10lbs 4 oz now but his long not really chubby to!

I had to go through Adam's clothes this weekend and sort out all the cute little newborn stuff  - he hasn't been able to wear the bodysuits for a few weeks because his cloth nappies take up more room than disposables, and now I've admitted defeat on the babygros and trousers, too, realising he's not been in them for a few weeks either... his feet are too big, legs too long, even though round the middle small things still fit, he's also quite tall and slim. I've kept a few bits, just because I can't bear to part with them, and the rest is going to one of Chris's colleagues who's having a boy in December.

No idea what Adam weighs, HV hasn't been round since Sept 14th, when he was 9lb; she's coming again on Monday. I hope he's gaining ok... he's certainly bigger and feels a lot heavier, and when I weight myself alone and holding him naked there is an 11lb difference, so...

So good to see everyone in here, I miss our 2nd and 3rd tri days when we were all chatting up a storm, but these babies take up more time now they're on the outside!

Tomorrow I have to take Adam to get his hearing assessed - he failed his screening when he was one day old, in one ear, so he has to go and get it all done again, I'm nervous and scared about the whole thing. Scared that they'll say he's deaf on one side... I have no idea if he is, it's so hard to tell because he does (sometimes) respond to sudden noise like they're supposed to but then he would if he hears fine through one ear.

Also, the appointment is at 9am in central London (King's), and according to Chris, there is no way we'll manage to even get on the train with the pushchair if we attempt to travel between 7.30am and 8.30am because it'll be packed to the gills with commuters, so we're planning to leave the house about 7am and get a train at 7.15am and hope for the best. Of course we'll then be in London way too early and will have to hang around in a coffee shop or something. We could get a cab only I don't want to because it's too long a drive for me to feel ok with him not in his car seat. At least at that time of day Chris will come with us. And I rang the hospital today and they said the technicians should be there from 8.15am so if we got there early they'd let us in.

It's all complicated by the fact that Adam has to be asleep or at least quiet and still for the test, so I have to keep him awake and feed him right beforehand, hoping that this'll make him drowsy... eeeek. So much stress... but I don't mind really, it's just going to be tiring and strange for him. I just hope he passes the test. The lady who did the initial screening said that lots of babies fail because they have amniotic fluid in their ears from the birth...

*scared*

ooooh, I posted a short video of Adam in the photo album!

Shiv, I'm envious of you getting anything done today! Adam has been very cuddly today (this is my nice way of saying he doesn't want to be anywhere apart from with me! I try to put the positive spin or I'll get a little annoyed...) He had been in a pattern of having a feed and then having a nap about lunchtime but no naps the last week or so. :( I put him in this basket and he kicks and plays, all alert, and wants to play, but doesn't sleep, and I feel bad about getting on with things so I just do small essential quick tasks like washing his bottles and nappies, and go back and make faces at him to make him smile... I don't care two hoots about the housework but some things do need to be done, we both need to eat and drink... the rest can wait. He's going to be so little and needy for such a short time in the scheme of things, I don't want to wish his babyhood away because before I know it he'll be at school.

OMG, OMG, OMG, my little sis just phoned me. SHE'S HAVING A BABY!! She's 26 and her and her DF have been trying for just under a year :D She has no idea how far gone she is as her AF is so irregular but woo hoo :happydance::happydance::happydance::happydance::cloud9:

OMG congrats Vici's little sis!!! :happydance::happydance::happydance::happydance:

Well, hi girls, just had 5 mins for a quick read through and catch up with you all.

Cleck - great to see you back. Well done on the exclusive BF - although it is very fraining at times! We are just out of newborn now, but it's because Owen is quite tall for his age lol!

Great to see that everyone is doing pretty well on the whole. :)

So our update today is that I've been for my 6 week check with the GP - which was really just a chat about how I'm feeling - so a bit of a waste of time!! Then this afternoon we went to the HV for a chat and weigh in.

I've been a bit concerned because Owen has been a bit unsettled the last few days - he's had some real screaming fits, and has had an on-and-off blotchy / spotty rash on his face after breastfeeding. Also he sometimes gets a bit wheezy, and sicks up quite a lot. I'm thinking he might have an intolerance to something in my breastmilk - but I can't pinpoint what!!

HV said that what I'm descrbing sounds quite normal, and not to worry about it as long as he is generally OK and is putting on weight - well he weighed in at 10lb 6oz - so fab weight gain! I must be producing gold top so we are to carry on and not worry :)

hi everyone, josh had his jabs today, cried for 2 mins, then went to sleep for 3 hours, had a feed, then another feed then sleep again.
shadow i do miss work, only do 5 hours on a shift, i work in a little supermarket, im in charge, :haha::haha: one of the lads lost his ball, he got a ladder to find itbehind the freezer, so when he was on top i moved the ladder, he couldnt get down, so he hid behind the sign at the top and when one of our regulars walked down the aisle, he poked his head round and said hello, i swear i nearly wet myself. got af yesterday, god i hate them.

Off to wales for 13 days

Oooooh MJ, sorry I didn't see your post about Adam's hearing test till now, got your text though and so glad it all went fine :D Vince had his at about 10 days old at home with the HV, its a groovy little machine they use, but it took her aaages to get a good readout from one of his ears and i must admit, i was concerned too! It's lovely to know all is well though :) Hope your trip into main London wasn't too stressful, don't think I could cope with that, you're braver than me!!! Gonna go check out your new vid in a sec :)

Karen, hope Owen's little rash is nothing to worry about! Congrats on such a good weigh in :D

lol @ work costgang... Glad Josh's jabs went ok, Vince cried for about 10 seconds with his and then was fine and smiling at the nurse!!!

Have fun on holiday Mr and Mrs Carter!!! :D xx

Guys, I HAVE MY EPIOC!!!!! It's awesome, I'm so pleased :) off to play now!!!

xxxx

Hi everyone:wave:

oh god, i must be behind the times, what is an epioc shadow?

i would sooooo love to be going on holiday too. somewhere hot and sandy.........
I remember the days:dohh:

Rose tried a new bottle today and actually drank from it and loved it! Am ever so happy as its the 3rd type i have tried and i really want my dh to be able to feed her so i can at least have 10 mins in the bath in peace, she cluster feeds for hours every eve. she also settled herself and went to sleep (once!) which is another problem we are trying to tackle. even if she is asleep ,as soon as i put her down she is wide awake seconds later. Ahhhhhhhh:wacko:

She is doing great, weighs 9lb 10oz and is spot on for her corrected age of 5 weeks. its so difficult to put into words how much i love her, even when i am so knackered:cloud9: i know you girls know what i mean! having a longer newborn stage is lovely but its also tiring as getting her to go longer between feeds etc is tricky as her tummy size is still that of a 5 week old, still what the hell, we nearly didn't get her at all after the trauma of her early birth!

anyway, random posting over (must be lack of sleep:blush:)

hope all the little babes are doing ok
x

Kaygeebee - Sophia has been very rashy recently, especially after BFing. The doctor says it is heat rash, and it is worse after feeding becasue they get warm during feeding as they are all cuddled up next to you and workign quite hard. Maybe this is what is happening with you too?

MJ - glad Adam's hearing test went ok!

Shadow - oh good news about your wheels! have fun!

Carter - cottage looks brill - have a great holiday

Costgang- your work sounds like a blast - you lucky thing!

We've just got back from the cinema! It was nice to do something "normal", and Sophia was good as gold! Although it was only us and some of my antenatal class friends and their babies, so wouldn't have mattered if she'd screamed really!
