he seems abit better from the medicine, at 3 he had 5oz and he's just had another 6oz now he's lying in his cot bibbing his mobile and he doesn't seem as irritable which good cus iv have lots to do today and will make things easier if he is happy,

Sorry if I don't seem to reply individually it's just because we havnt got the net yet at our house so I'm on the iPhone and it takes aaages xx

I was just thinking - when have we left Adam with someone else? I have definitely left him with my mum when she was down here when he was 2 weeks - 1 month old, when I went to see my shrink and Chris was at work... and *I* have left him with Chris a fair few times, the first time for longer than 15 mins was when I went for a hospital appointment, and now he has him for up to 4 hours when I go see my friend and go swimming. But the only time we have been out together without him wasn't an outing, it was when we were at my parents' a month ago and we had forgotten the Dentinox colic drops and had to go to Boots for some more, we left him with my mum & dad. I was so worried as we drove away, kept picturing some terrible thing happening and my mum having to break bad news... stupid imagination.

Shiv, yes, I think that thing I was looking at is big as well. Think we are going to have to go to a toy shop and check things out in person before I order anything that turns out to be massive. Maybe I can convince Chris to stop past Toys r Us on Friday - we are having to brave the south circular to see his mum & auntie and then we're going to see his grandparents for lunch as well, and I think we pass some sort of retail park on the way... hmmm, might look to see where the Toys r Us are... I've only been to one, on the Old Kent Road, but last year before I was pregnant even, for presents for my niece and nephew. It'll be fun to go looking for things for us.. erm, I mean Adam. :D

Hope you have a good trip away and up north and that the cold doesn't come to anything :hugs: ... I know what you mean about being envious of pregnant women... I seem to know SO many women (and not on here  ) who are pregnant or gave birth in the last year. A friend in Australia is due in early December and another in London at the end of Jan... that's exciting, she's a work colleague who I am good friends with and it was such a lovely surprise when she told me she's expecting. I am really hoping we can get together with the babies and do things. Both my friends are having boys. Actually, I did a little count up of people I know having/just had babies and of those, including me, there are 10 boys and 5 girls (which includes a set of twins), and one due soon who's on team yellow.

Vici, hope Imi has a better day today! I think part of what was making Adam upset was that he didn't do a poo yesterday, and he is usually regular as clockwork (after morning feed, in the Pooh chair). Am pleased to report normal service has been resumed. :D So fingers crossed he's better today. He's been messing with his feeds, though, leaving more but wanting to be fed more often. Guess it's true that they like to shake things up and keep us on our toes...

Boothh, hope Jesse is back on top form soon. I love hearing Adam laugh, though he hasn't done anything like what he did last Thursday, when he was practically having hysterics.

jelr, that's a great bargain on the jumperoo! babies seem to love them - I can't wait to see all the pics of our little ones at Christmas with all their new toys.

to whoever it was who asked how often we get the baby weighed - cleck? we have started going every 2 weeks. before, we had the HV come round, and because of my anxiety and their concerns about that (which thankfully didn't come to anything) they were coming every 2 weeks. then I realised it had been a month, so I found out about the clinic and thought we'd go regularly. I like to know he's ok, I mean, I know he's growing well because he's burst out of the 0-3 month clothes (in crotch length, legs and feet, nowhere else, I think he'd still be in newborn for waist size) and he looks lovely, but I would like to know of any potential problem before it gets into a bigger one. He was slow to gain in the beginning, and while he's doing fine now, I still want to be sure. Besides, it's a reason to go out for a little walk, it's 20 mins away. Pips, that's lovely you have someone to go to the clinic with. I wish I did, it's sometimes quite a long wait and we both get a bit bored. Me more than Adam, though, I think he likes looking around at all the other babies and toddlers.

AFU - I have lots of laundry to do today, just finished a load and have another to go in once I've tumble dried what needs it. I think we'll make an effort to go out today, we didn't yesterday and Adam hasn't been out since Saturday; I was going to go yesterday as Adam was so unsettled, and got him in his coat all ready, went to sort out the pushchair, realised it was in the car, so went to get Adam to go outside, and he was asleep on the settee. So I popped him in the basket and abandoned the trip out!

ok, better address this laundry... :D

Ah thanks cleck i'm delighted to hear that she will hopefully be lauging soon.

Booth: I'm so glad Jesse is feeling a bit better today.

MJ: Glad to here Adam is doing better today - ah the poor little thing probably had a pain in his tummy - I hate being constipated myself.

Well we had a really weird night - Natasha woke me around two crying in her sleep but she had stopped by the time I got up to pick her up - then she woke again at 5 and I ended up having to feed her at 5.30 - she hasn't woken this early for weeks and weeks - it is usually between 7 and 8 now and even after feeding her she kept spitting out her soother and winging for it then for about an hour. so it was 7 - 7.30 by the time I got back to sleep - then she was crying in her sleep again around 8.30 and went back to sleep and woke again at 10 for a feed - she has only taken 3 and 1/2 oz which is normal for the first one but she only took 4 at the second one which is normally around 6 to 7 oz. So I dont know whether she is coming down with something - The poor baby.

Hey ladies, sorry haven't posted much but back to work now full time ( I'm in my dinner break as we speak!):) hope ur all well and hopefully I'll catch up soon!!:) x x

Cleck, have you considered trying a different pump? I don't know which you have, but the Avent Isis always gets a good write-up. I have the closer to nature, which I'm getting along fine with. It does make a big difference for some women.

We waited for two and a half hours for her jabs and I got shouted at by some witchy chavs for 'jumping the queue' which I couldn't even tell was there. She was ok though I really hate having to hold her leg still for them to stick her :(

I just have a Madela Harmony manual pump. I've thought about getting an electric Madela Swing pump but I'm not so sure that it's worth it for $270.00. I've read a bit and it was saying I only need 4 teaspoons of breastmilk to mix with the rice cereal for a meal in the beginning and than slowly less breastmilk as she gets used to it to thicken it up. So really 4 teaspoons isn't much. I think it's 20 mL of breastmilk. So I should be good with just a few ounces a day from pumping. At least I hope cause I really don't want to pay more for another pump. :haha:

$270 for a Medela Swing? wow, they are "only" about £90 here. I have one that I got on eBay for about £70... crikey. $270 is a lot.

Adam has been a lot better today, back to normal. made up for yesterday's missing poo as well! poor baby is not happy if he's not regular. I do understand though.

Oh your right MJ. Woops! I meant Madela In-style. :dohh: It's a shoulder bag double pump. Which would be my ideal pump if I were to buy another one. I have no idea why I said swing. haha. I'm gonna google it now to see how much the swing is here. :haha:

Well the swing is definately cheaper. It's $149.99 on the Target online website. But it doesn't seem nearly as fun as the In-style.

Hi all just popping in on a bt hotspot! My internet should be working tomorrow evening so will have more time to catch up again! Hope your all well xxxx

Hi rubyrose :D

heh, cleck, I couldn't imagine it'd really have been twice as expensive in the US  - I think next time I'll get as decent a breast pump as I can afford, for sure. the Swing is ok, but for someone like me with limited supply, I think more power might have been better. but it's something you don't know till you're in that situation and for all I knew I might have had zero supply so it'd have been a waste of money. I now know it'd have been worth the investment. oh well.

 Hey girls, just popping in to say that I'm still around, but like lots of you I haven't been keeping up lately! Bad Shadow! Have read some of what you guys have been posting though... ~Seems there's lots of poorliness and teething and general fussiness about, I'll join that club, Vince is almost definitely teething (tho no teeth cut through yet) and he's been pretty fussy lately! :(

Just really wanted to share my excitement about this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6HJ4ECHqLM&feature=player_embedded

I'm hopefully getting Vince into the next term which starts in January! Wish he could start sooner, but they started the current term at the start of October and I didn't know about it back then!

Anyone else doing / thinking of doing anything like this??

:happydance: Soooo excited!! :D

well, that looks like fun, Shadow. one thing though, from the video - how many 2 yr olds fall into canals?! seems like some parenting classes would be in order if that was happening too often!

I do want Adam to learn to swim and he'll definitely be going to classes before he's at school. I remember learning when I was about 3. I'm not a good swimmer, but I am capable enough and for the safety side as well as the fun, Adam will learn. I am looking forward to us all going swimming, actually, it's something that although I did learn as a kid we didn't really do as a family. my mum has horrible eyesight and cannot see without her glasses, so she didn't come int the water too much, and my dad never learnt. it's hard to believe but his parents didn't do a lot of fun things, he wouldn't have gone to fairgrounds very much, that sort of thing. now he is nearly 63 and has never swum. I find it sad. and it is really a shame because he's overweight with painful joints and it would be the perfect exercise for him

so... today we have a friend of mine coming over, someone I met on a web forum years ago, she's American but living in London for a while. haven't seen her since I had Adam, last time I was 38 weeks so all ready to pop! was thinking - it would be so lovely to have a Lion Cubs meet up sometime... I know you're all round the country, and overseas... but even so. :D if we could swing it, I'd love it :D anyone in the London area... ???!

my friend suggested coming over at 12 or 1, whichever was best for Adam's lunch... heh... it's hard to say, I know he'll eat at sometime around the lunch hour, but when exactly depends on when he ate breakfast... and none of this would be an issue but I said I'd walk round to the station to collect her as she's never been here before, so she's coming at 1pm and now it's 11.35 and Adam went down for his nap about 20 mins ago, and ... I don't think there's going to be time for him to get another bottle before 1. think I might be walking round with a screaming baby. oooops!!!

what are you all up to today?

 A meet up?!? God, that'd be soooo cool but very scary!! I've never ever met anyone I knew first online... And I'm a right shy little thing in real life hahaha... But I think I'd be able to pluck up the courage!! As you know I'm up in London regularly for Finlay anyway, it wouldn't be so hard to arrange for me :) OMG it's be sooo cool to meet some of you in person!! Cleck, can you fly over to London? Shall we invite W4B and her OH?!

Come on ladies, who else could get to London some time??? Let's do it!!!

I agree I'd be SO nervous meeting you girls. :haha: It seems like I'm the only American that still gets on here pretty regularly. Overcomer where are you hun?! And smith, heidi, and Gabrielle seem to have disappeared from this site. I would LOVE to fly over there and meet everyone! If I did it, it would have to be a meet with our DH's and OH's too cause I'd be way too scared to fly over there alone.:haha: Are you guys thinking in the near future or something at a later date?!

Shall we invite W4B and her OH?!

 Believe it or not, I still had her as a friend on my myspace. I rarely use myspace anymore but was flipping through my friends on there a few weeks ago and she's still there. With piccies of her baby and all!

 REALLY?! OMG... What does the baby look like?! I can't even imagine... Are there any photos of it wearing those hideous vests "My mom's a crack whore" "my dick is really big" or "my parents beat the hell out of me" ?!?!? Remember those?! Oh, but it's ok, because she was abused as a child, so she's allowed to joke about it... *Shadow puts her claws away and takes a chill pill*

So seriously Cleck, could you really fly out here? That's quite a trip to meet us lot, I hope we live up to it!!

C'mon girls, don't be shy, who else could come??? :happydance:

*taps fingers waiting for others to get in here and say they can come to a meet*

I WILL I WILL I WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLL :wohoo: I am so excited

*sneaks in and re-joins thread and hopes no one noticed me leave*
