Living room advice - Carpet, Laminate or Vinyl/Lino??

We have the original wood flooring thats been sanded down and oiled. We also have a rug over it. The room is cool but that is more due to the fact that there are quite big gaps between the boards lol. If we didn't have the gaps then it wouldn't be particularly cold. If we had the money we would put down Karndene flooring as it's so much nicer than laminate.

If we had to choose between carpet, laminate or lino then i'd go for carpet as i think laminate and lino don't look great at all.

I always hoover my rug 1st then roll it up and put it in the kitchen whilst I clean my lamitane

Ours is one of those long, thick hallway rugs that doesn't roll, and has a sticky underfelt so it doesn't move and is safer. It would be a nightmare to roll up

Dnt think I could have one of those then......I am OCD about my floors

We have decided on a nice thick carpet. We have said we won't allow food, drink or shoes in the living room.
