Well just to give an update - still no
. Haven't really had any side effects from the Metformin - which is good - just hoping and waiting now.
Drakey - I know how you feel (as you can see from my ticker - I too am no stranger to extra long cycles!). I hope you get some answers from your blood tests.
When I had blood tests done in January (because of my irregular cycles) they said the results came back normal (but bearing in mind - dr was absolutely useless). It wasn't until I went again in March (because of a suspected pregnancy and even later cycle) that MY doctor referred me to the hospital and they finally diagnosed PCOS.
I hope that isn't the case with you but that is probably one of the things that they are testing for.
Can I just ask what your BMI is? And your age? As they say that weight can be a factor in either PCOS and/or trying to conceive in general (not always but sometimes can effect ovulation etc). My BMI was about 31 when I went to hospital - which is why I think he put me on Metformin first as he thought that the PCOS was effecting my weight and if I lost some it might trigger ovulation (getting down to a BMI of about 26/27 (which looking back to last year when before I got married - with an BMI of 25ish my cycles were more frequent - still irregular (33, 49, 37, 45, 79) but more frequent!) - he didn't say this so am only guessing. He just said as I was still young (29 in August) so he would try me on that first.
