Long Irregular Cycles 'r' Us

Sorry Blonde :hugs:

Good luck Drakey! Hope the blood work goes well.

Hi everyone - just a quick update - :witch: still hasn't arrived and I haven't been feeling too good for the last week or so - really nauseou and have really bad stomach over last few days (diarrohea) - which I think is down to the Metformin tablets that i'm on as now I'm on the full dose (4 x 500mg).

If I don't start feeling better by the end of the week am gonna see the doctor.

Am trying not to obsess too much at the moment and am trying to keep my mind occupied - am reading the twilight series - am on book 3 (eclipse) now so that should keep my mind off things for a while! (Would thoroughly recommend if anyone hasn't read them!) Am hoping the not thinking about it and it will happen approach will work!

Erised - glad everything is moving in the right direction - fingers crossed that it works for you.

BizyBee - I really hope you get your :bfp: soon.

Quail - :hugs:

Hope everyone else is a ok - PMA and all that - WE WILL BE PREGNANT IN 2009!!! x

Aly- If one more person tells me to quit wanting to get pregnant and I will get pregnant I'm going to punch them in the face. lol. But I know what you mean. I'm trying to rewatch all of Star Trek Voyager this summer and I have a huge reading list, so hopefully I'm not occupied with baby thoughts.

hi ladies,

thanks for caring.... well after all my worrying, im getting reffered to gyno! my BP still up slightly so i got BP tabs to try and help that......... bloods where all fine apart from something to do with my liver?? but he didnt go on about it so i take it that its nothing serious..... and my eastrogens levels are there which i take is normal? so i really dont knw whats happening still until i see my gyno! lol xxxxxxxxxxx

Glad your blood tests came back ok. Sorry you didn't get an explanation for you irregular periods! Let us know what the gyno says!!!

This period is killing me. Before I went on BCP I rarely, if ever cramped. My periods were heavy sometimes, but not painful. OMG this period I am CRAMPING like no other. And I had forgotten how heavy periods can be off of BCP. Hopefully the fact that it is heavy will mean that it is short. FXD!

hi everyone well im on cd7 and its all ver boring i hate waiting to o,.xx

Glad to hear things are ok Drakey. Good luck at the gynea.

Aly, sorry the Metaformin is bothering you. Feel better soon. :hugs:

Quail - Sorry you had another cycle that didn't go as planned. I hope you'll get your sticky bean this time around without any false BFP's.

Mrslarkins08 - Welcome! I do hope you won't need the Clomid, but 36 days of bleeding sounds like a very messy cycle indeed. Hope things will take the correct path for you soon =)

BizyBee - Clomid!!! How are you feeling on it, and have you ovulated this cycle yet? Hope the first 3 cycles of Clomid do the trick for you hon, so close =D

blondeNklutzi - Not sure if I've said welcome to you yet even though you've been around for a while now. I have a lot of catching up to do. Good luck this new cycle, hope you can manage to stay distracted long enough (Star Trek! =D ) for the cycle to go quickly and well.

Aly - Metformin is evil on the stomach, isn't it? I'll be upping my dose to 3 (and staying on that) on Tuesday and I'm really not looking forward to it. I do hope your stomach will calm down soon though. Did you slowly up your way on to the 4 pills a day? Hope it does do the trick and bring on ovulation when it should.

drakey - Hope you won't have to wait for your gynae appointment too long. Glad the bloods came back fine, though do hope you'll get some answers soon.

That's everyone from the last 2 pages. Sorry if I forgot anyone.
Quick update on me ...

Had my second gynae appointment on the 12th of May. Different guy, and he just told me I need Metformin right away. He asked me how I felt about Clomid, as he'd like to refer me to a fertility clinic and get me started on Clomid too as he believed I'd need it. I'm more than fine to go along with that idea, so we'll see when the appointment comes through. He was also happy with the way the weight loss was going =D

So I've been on Metformin for a little over a week now. Started at 1 day which wasn't too bad. Had 1 day of an upset stomach and lose bowels, but that was it. Until I upped my dose to 2 a day on Tuesday. I've been feeling sick since, and on Wednesday I made the mistake of taking my metformin with pancakes that DH made me. Only remembered you shouldn't have anything sweet with it after I had emptied my stomach in the toilet bowl. Lesson learned though.

So I'm eating hardly anything now, 2 pieces of toast when I have to take the Metformin but that's pretty much it. Today I'm feeling a little better though, and I've actually been able to drink normally again. Don't know if it's because I'm drinking milk only or just because I'm actually feeling better. But earlier this week I could hardly stomach anything, drinks included. That said, I haven't taken my second pill yet today so I'm expecting things to get worse again soon. I'm also very tired for some reason *sigh*

Upping my dose to 3 on Tuesday, and that will be it then. Not looking forward to it!!
I did actually ovulate (on my own! before I had the Metformin! so happy =D ) just over 2 weeks ago. My temperatures did exactly what they should, and my period came on 15 days after ovulation. Very happy about that, my first 'real' cycle! Now I'm hoping AF will go away after 4 days and that hopefully I'll actually ovulate on CD14 this time instead of CD28.

But all is looking positive =D

hi erised, so glad things are going well for you, i got my gyno appt on the 1st july, can i ask you what they did when u got your 1st appt? what shall i expect? xxxxx

On my first gynae appointment not all that much happened to be honest.
He checked my weight, told me I had to lose weight. He discussed the possibilities of Metformin and Clomid in the future, once I'd reached my 1 year mark. At the time I had been ttc for 10 months but he wanted a full 12 before putting me on anything.
It was mostly a lot of talking to be honest, just to see how I'd feel about being put on medication later on and make me aware of any side effects it might have. Plus make sure that I was willing to try things on my own, like weight loss. They also checked a urine sample for something, didn't tell me what.

Other things can be done too, depending on how much your GP already did. Mine had already make me do 3 sets of blood tests and had already send me for an ultrasound to check for PCOS. So because PCOS had already been diagnosed he didn't have to do any of these things anymore. I also brought my fertility friend charts from when I started which he looked at and confirmed that I hadn't ovulated.

I haven't taken any Metformin yet today, so I'm feeling quite good so far! Probably won't be by this afternoon. Anyways, I weighed in today ... I lost 4 lbs!! Soooo happy. I'm on my period as well, when you usually gain weight. So Metformin, while making me feel horrible, does wonders for losing weight!

thanks hun... well done on the 4lbs! i lost 8 last week! having BBQ today though so im hoping i dont put none back on lol. xxxxxxxx

Wow Erised and Drakey, great job on the weight loss!

Erised, I am glad to hear you are doing well and you had your first "real" cycle. I am waiting for a bfp or AF any day now. I did well with the Clomid. I took it before bed and had no side effects. I also took progesterone for the last 2 weeks and felt fine also.

Wow on the weight loss. I had lost like 10 lbs, but then I got lazy and stopped working out. Why I don't know. Anyway, now I feel fat and don't want to work out again. Freaking vicious cycle.

lmao, weightloss really is an evil cycle. I had lost 13 lbs up until we went to Holland, and in those 2 weeks I managed to gain 2 lbs back. Before we went I hadn't lost weight in around 3 weeks due to not bothering. Thankfully gaining weight made me pick it back up again. Or well, as much as I can as I really don't feel like exercise when feeling sick.

Yesterday was a very good day for me and Metformin. I didn't feel sick at all, and managed to get an hour on my exercise bike in. Silly as I am, I thought that meant I was now used to it and expected today to be fine too. But nah, I really didn't feel like toast so had less than half a pack of noodles for lunch. I just couldn't eat anything. Which probably means that the Met will make me feel quite sick again later today. But hey ho, all I can do is wait.

BizyBee, I do hope you'll get your BFP this cycle. Glad the Clomid seems to be doing the trick and isn't making you feel bad =)

well ladies im cd12 today but im not sure about this cycle as i had a almost pos opk early in my cycle and my pre o, temps seem quite high so i guess i will just have to wait and see if i do o, or if i already have any ideas?

Well, my first round of Clomid was unsuccessful. :witch: got me this morning...
On a positive note, my cycle was only 36 days long!

I've decided to call about setting up an acupuncture appointment. I've heard great things about it, so I'm going to get past my fear and try it. A few friends from work swear by it, so fingers crossed round 2 and acupuncture do the trick!

For now, I'm going to enjoy a few glasses of :wine: this weekend and prepare for another cycle.

good luck bizybee.xx well im on cd15 and still no sign of o, thoug i id have ewcm on cd9 andan almost pos opk any ideas?
