Sorry Drakey! :( I probably should already know this, but how long have you been trying? It's hard to keep up with so many threads!

since jan properly which was my 1st proper af...... xx

Unfortunately, it may take a while for your body to adjust after BCP. I'm still waiting for mine to work things out and it's been 9 months. Good luck hun. Hope the next cycle is more promising... xx

Hi everyone - I'm new to the site.

MY DH and I have been trying TTC since July 2008 - just after we got married. I always thought we might have a problem because I have always had very irregular cycles.
I am currently on CD90 of my current cycle. My last 3 cycles since TTC have been 78, 64 and 40.
When we originally started trying I was just taking Folic Acid but then noticed a multivitamin called Pregnacare Conception whilst in Boots and thought I'd give this a try because it has some additional vitamins in that were meant to promote reproductive health and so started taking this in October (I was currently on CD38 of 64 day cycle) and then :witch: arrived - the next cycle was 40 days - I though great it's obviously helping and started to be positive - especially as in middle of 40 day cycle I went to Dr's to explain my predicament and they said to come back and have blood test on CD21 of next cycle - which I did and they results came back normal.
So when I got to CD46 of current cycle I did a HPT and it was a :bfn: and so I thought great am in for another long cycle :hissy:. So I waited until my longest cycle - 78 days (this is my longest every cycle!!) and still no :witch:. I finally tested again last saturday CD83 (with a test from Sainsburys - 2nd of 2 pack from previous test) and it came up with a :bfp: but it was very faint and I wasn't even sure if it came up in the time limit! So I went a bought a First Response test as I thought these would be better and did this later that afternoon - this was a :bfn:!!!
I then tested again on Thursday (with another Sainsbury's test - that I made my DH go out and buy on Wednesday night - as I now hated First Response for ruining my dreams!!) with FMU and a very faint :bfp: came up again - literally straight away!
Went to Dr's again on Friday morning (and managed to get app with MY doctor - not the muppet I saw last time who didn'#t know what he was doing!!) and he said that they would send off a high sensitivity urine test and let me know the results next week. But he said that if it did come back negative then he would refer me for further tests as having such irratic cycles is not normal and that I would probably be put on something to make my cycles more regular! So I was feeling a little better about the whole situation. UNTIL I tested again this morning - with the left over First Response and got a :bfn: - gutted! Now I don't know what to think. I have read that the sensitivity on Sainsbury's test is 25MIU and First Response is 40MIU so Sainsbury's is more sensitive and I have been getting a lot of cramps for the past 2 weeks. Am I or aren't I? - the wait is killing me - all I want is a :bfp: but am too scared to test again just in case it's a :bfn:!!

HELP!!!! - AM GOING BONKERS!!!! x

quail, didn't your GP tell you you're likely to get positives due to natural high levels? If so you really should try not to test yet hon, you'll be setting yourself up for disappointment as a positive can't be taken as proof of pregnancy until your AF is actually late. I do understand that will be very hard, but I'm certain all the fake BFP's are hard to take too.

BizyBee, no worried =) I'm having trouble keeping up with everyone as well! The only easy ones to follow are Lucy & Littlestar because I know they're both pregnant. Everyone else is just blurring into one and I find myself going back several pages all the time to see who has had what and how long for.

I'm still waiting, weighing in day again for me tomorrow! Hope I've lost some weight =)

--Edit--
Just posted at the same time as Aly0103, will read when I get back walking the dog ... but Welcome!!
If the sainsburys one is more sensitive it's possible you are indeed pregnant. Do you know when the results from your test will come back in? I hope it will clear things up for you. Glad your GP will do more tests to see what's causing such irregular cycles. I personally thought that maybe you have 1 cystic ovary and one working ovary, as you did ovulate on the 40 day cycle. But obviously I don't know what I'm talking about!! Either way, I hope you'll get some clarification and help soon. If you need it of course, we're still holding our fingers crossed that the BFP means 9 months without AF!

Thank you Erised. I was thinking that I might have PCOS last year when I went to Dr's but he didn't really know what he was talking about (had a reference book out looking things up and then said he'd check with another docotr before he said I could have a blood test) and I being a bit of a wuss didn't say anything!
I was just glad when I went to see my NICE Dr yesterday that the first thing he mentioned when I said about irregular cycles was possibly PCOS - so at least he's got a brain!!!
I hope the Sainsbury's one is right to - I just don't want to get my hopes up!!! I just have that feeling that it's gonna be negative - I'm trying to be positive but I just keep thinking that I'm never gonna get to experience that 2 pink lines and first ultrasound and first kick etc.
I should hopefully get my results back by about Tuesday I think - he said he'd ring me when the results came in - so will let you know!

I have been looking through some old posts on this and other sites and came across you little rant at your friend from years ago who's just had a baby boy!! I know the feeling!
My sister has just had a little girl - I was her birthing partner! and I love her to bits don't get me wrong but she has 2 kids already (15 and 9) with another man and starting dating someone in September 07 and in Christmas 07 she told me they were gonna try for a baby but because she has PCOS (it doesn't run in family as she is my adopted Sister) they were putting her on Clomid! She got pregnant on her 6 round (JUNE) and her and then they broke up in August!!!
It just annoys me that they were only together for 3 months and have now subsequently broken up and me and my husband have been together for over 6 years and are married and have our own house and good jobs etc and we probably won't be getting clomid or something until we were trying for a year!!! Anyway RANT over - breathe!!! x

Welcome Aly, I can relate! I have been trying for 9 months and have had cycles that are comparable to yours. My husband and I have been together for over 10 years, we have a beautiful house, and we are so ready for a baby. It is frustrating to have such long/unpredictable cycles. I really hope your test is positive.

Quail, stay positive hun. It's only 8dpo. Theres still time to get a :bfp: Fingers crossed. xx

I can fully understand why you'd feel annoyed even though you love your sis. It does often seem unfair, how those of us that really want it have to wait a long time for someone so precious ... and then there's those who don't realise what they're jumping in to, and get it within months. It's highly frustrating

I hope you'll get positive news on Tuesday =)

Thank you for your comment Erised and BizyBee - it means alot that there are other peolple out there who know what I'm going through!

Well doc phoned this morning (quick I know!!) and said that test had come back :bfn: - but kind of expected it really - did another test on Sunday morning (other Sainsbury's one) and it came out negative, so was a bit prepared.
But am trying to stay positive. He said he is going to send a referral for the fertility dr at the hospital and they will probably give me something to regulate my cycles - as he said the odds aren't with me at the moment. He also rang back about 5 mins later and spoke to my husband and said for him to come and pick a specimen pot from surgery and supply a semen sample, just to double check that there isn't a problem with him - which I thought was good.

I don't know if it's just me but all I see at the moment is pregnant women everywhere - and all I keep thinking is why isn't that me!!! But patience is a virtue - or so my mother says - unfortunaely I don't think I possess it!!

But don't worry ladies - I strongly feel that 2009 is gonna be our year!!!

well ladies i got a faint bfp at 10dpo this morning with fmu but im not convinced until witch dosent show shes due in the next 2 days so keeping my fxd hope you are all well.xx

Always keeping my fingers crossed for a lady in need quail ;)
Just a couple of days left to go and you'll know for certain!

Aly, I sooo hear you about the pregnant woman. Pregnant woman, and woman with small children. They're -everywhere- ... I can't go for a coffee on Saturdays without having the little ones sit on all the tables around me. It makes me so broody, and on bad days it just drags me down and I can't be happy to see them. On good days of course, it's fantastic to have them laugh and giggle at you, no matter how jealous I am.

I honestly don't know if there's more pregnant women around, or if we just notice it more. I think it's probably the last one.

Sorry your test results came back negative. I like the sound of your GP though, he seems to really care. I do wonder why he said the odds aren't with you? My GP and gynae try to stay really positive, as telling a woman the odds aren't with her can make her convince herself he can't get pregnant ... and well, we all know the mind is a powerful thing.

Either way, I hope you get the gynae appointment through soon and that a bunch of tests will give you results so you'll get your BFP soon =)

Thanks Erised. I think he just meant that with any woman having just 25% chance each cycle to conceive (with an average of 12 cycles a year) that me having such irregular and erractic cycles (currently on CD 92 - with an average of between 4 and 8 cycles a year) that I've got less chances than most women. Yeah he is really nice - and really efficient - took my urine test in on Friday afternoon and he phoned with results this morning at 8.15am.

I know I try to stay positive when I see pregnant women and women with babaies/children - all I have to keep saying to myself is 'THAT' will be me someday - hopefully soon.

Congrats quail - I hope it is a :bfp: for you - I have fingers and toes crossed for you!!! x

well ive done a few more tests today[haha] and all faint but there bfps ,thanks for all the kind words take care.xx

Quail, that's great news! Keep us posted as your lines hopefully get darker...

Aly, I know what you mean. It does seem like odds are against us, but it will happen. I try to think positive and tell myself that the wait will make me appreciate a baby more. If things come easily, we are more likely to take them for granted, right? Having said that, I definitely get jealous when I see pregnant women (friends, co-workers, my SIL). My OH just had a semen analysis also. It definitely makes me feel like things are moving along. Hope your OH's results are good.

well it was another chemial af started today.xx

im still getting faint bfps and af has yet to show in full force so dont know whats going on its just like a light period anyone any ideas? thanks bizybee.xx

You might be implanting (how many dpo are you?)

 Quail!

Good Luck with those SA & Test Results Ladies!

:dust::dust::dust::dust::dust:

P.s I'm still lurking!
