Im clueless

Do you make the bottle up with water and formula before you go out so they are ready? or do you just fill the bottle with water than add formula before you use it like you would at home?

xx

I got one out the fridge, shoved it in the changing bag, and warmed it up when I needed it

well what i do is take out the boiled water in the sterilised bottles and take the formula measured out in a sterilised pot - like this

and then just heat it up whilst up, using one of these flasks:

sounds more complicated than it is honey, but works well for us :)

i got one of those pots with the separated compartments....and take boiled water in the bottles with me...if i am in a high street or something where i cant heat the bottle, i go in starbucks for example and order hot water and put the bottle in it to warm it up

if im making 7oz of mil then i will fill up bottle with 6oz from home..
when i need it i check how warm that water still is & add boiling water from my flask to bring it back to the right temp. I then add the already measured out formula= PERFECT!!

i just boilth kettle b4 i go out pour the 6 oz o water into his bottle but the lid on put it in his bag and by the time hes due his bottle its cool enough then get the powder from a milk powder storage container and pour it in and shake it then its done and ready to drink :)

If you have Tommee Tippee bottles, you can buy these cool storage things which fit inside the bottle so they never open unexpectedly and is so easy to carry around. We use them all the time and just mix when we are out.

I take the ready made cans and a sterilized bottle(s), so much less hassle

I have thought about that. Someone told me it could constipate your baby if they dont have it regularly though... How is Hannah? I kinda didnt take that persons advice seriously because I know her... if you know what I mean... but I havent tried it yet.

I normally take out a ready to use carton, and I use the Fisher Price flask to warm up the bottle (the top is like a cup you can pour the hot water into and put the bottle in)
If I don't take a carton, then I measure the powder and put in a dispenser in the bottle, and put boiled water in the flask and just make up fresh with the water, and fill the lid of the flask with cold water to cool. Hope that made sense!

We've never had any problems with them. Honestly we aren't out that much during her feeds but she's never had problems And when we went to Texas she was on the cans for the entire plane trip--again no problems whatsoever. I just buy the same brand as her powdered stuff :) I would recommend checking the temp though because we have found that on cold days we still have to warm the bottle slightly to get Hannah to take it

i tried the ready made cans for maddi, ages ago - she wasn't so keen, but i may give them another go, have one in the cupboard i believe, seems very handy, thanks for the reminder vickie x

I have done this four times... over four years... so pretty much have it done ;)

we carry a bottle of baby water in a large container marked with ounces.

I do it one of two ways. I either have liners and add the amount needed for each bottle, say two or three and bring them then add the water. I live in Florida so the water heats up on its own... then mix when needed.... or... I would carry a container of formula with an extra spoon from another can and make them bring one bottle and a lot of liners.

I have the tommee tippee bottles with the powder in a seperate little compartment thing! You should never give a baby a bottle that has been made up for over 2 hours, So when I do mine I know there all fresh! Same goes for the cartoons once opened unless they are put straight in the fridge you are shouldnt use it after 2 hours x

At McDonald's (where I work) you can ask for hot water in a cup. Have it filled about half way. People just put the bottle with prepared formula in it into the cup with the water to warm it up.. and it's free:)

My question is, if you're out for a walk at the park or something and need to feed the baby.. how do you keep the bottle warm- there's nowhere to warm it there? Stick it under your arm pit? LOL. But seriously..

I have the water measured out into my bottles, and the powder sorted into this contraption that holds powdered formula for 3 bottles, and I just dump it in when I need it. If I need to warm it, which she usually will just drink it at room temp, I do what that other person does and go to starbucks and get a hot water from them.
