• Xenforo Cloud has scheduled an upgrade to XenForo version 2.2.16. This will take place on or shortly after the following date and time: Jul 05, 2024 at 05:00 PM (PT) There shouldn't be any downtime, as it's just a maintenance release. More info here

Mamarazzis! Camera/DSLR Group

The woman on the phone told me if I do end up getting the original 50mm lens I ordered then I just will have two to keep! :)

Seriously? The rule here is, should you receive the original item before receiving the replacement, you should refuse delivery of the second one or vice versa as if you end up with two and don't return one of them, they are allowed to charge your card for the 2nd one too.

So you had me really doubting what that woman said to me about their policy! She sounded very new at the job anyways - had me on hold for a good 5 minutes after every question I asked her and she sounded a little nervous.

I called them up again and spoke to a different woman. She e-mailed me a free return label so I'm going to ship the second one back after all. Thanks!

Awhhh. :( It would have been nice if you could keep two so that you had a backup if one of them ever broke.
How would they know if you ever got the "lost" one though? The tracking number was all screwed up anyway..?

Oh, and here's a shot I took of Lilly today. I just love her. :D

I think I'm getting the hang of this camera more and more every day.

ETA: Edited out my theme idea. I'm clue less now, anyone have any ideas?

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out my manual settings. I can't get the background blurry without zooming in a lot. Maybe because I don't have an add-on lens? It's a Nikon CoolPix P510- I like it- but it's hard to figure out. Anyway, here's a pic from today- I think it came out nicely :)

eta: Hmm... saved as a .jpg so the quality messed up :(

Aw, I liked your theme idea, I just haven't had the energy to come up with anything! I love those shots. She looks so cuddly :cloud9:

Aww kitty he is so precious! I love those shots. :cloud9:

As for themes.. I'm not really sure. :( I'm pretty bad at them as well. I remember having an idea the other day, but then totally lost it. A lot of help I am.

I've been pretty busy with school work so haven't been taking as many pictures. I usually just browse baby club quick while working on stuff. I should have a little bit less to do over the week so maybe I can go out and get some shots! :)

Hi ladies, I feel like I'm joining late!! I'm Aiko, single mommy to Ellowyn, I have a Sony DSLR A100 that I bought quite a few years ago :haha: I never really used it much, but I'm getting inspired by all your awesome photos, so I've decided to pick it up!

Hi Ladies, i am a complete and utter novice and really need some help, all your photo's look amazing btw. I am after my first proper camera and i am looking at the Nikon D5100 digital SLR camera with 18-55mm VR lens kit (16.2mp) 3" lcd. now all that means nothing to me i have no idea what the digits mean etc, is this a good easy(ish) camera for me to start with? Has anyone got of had it and can recommend it?
Thank you so much x

Mummy2B21, this is for sure a really good camera. Have you looked at the Nikon D3200? I think it is a bit newer than the D5100. My choice was actually between the D3200 and the Canon 550D. I decided to go for the Canon, simply because it felt a bit more natural in my hand. Have you tried and held/felt them in a shop? I was also told that between the two I was thinking about there was not really a right lot of difference specification wise that a beginner would notice.

Another trip to the park for us to have a play with my camera. Again all pics are unedited.

Gorgeous photos! Such a cute little guy!!!

My photos are always unedited. I wish I had time to fiddle with PhotoShop, but its so overwhelming and with LO I can't waste time with it :(

Same here. I am still trying to get to grips with the camera, so editing pics is just not on my agenda at the moment.

Where did you guys get your Photoshop from? How much was it?

All I know is that it is a great photo editing software program that most professionals use, but it's REALLY expensive!!

It is a really great editing program, I love it! But I only have the trial version. And only like ten days left. :(
It is expensive and I'm debating whether to get it or not. I don't really want to spend that much money on an editing software but it does make my pictures look sooooo much better. If I were to purchase it, I'd have to do some serious convincing to my husband!
He already got me the camera and the 50mm lens and idk if he would let me get photoshop. I might have a look around at another editing software and see if there is one cheaper.

ETA: I would definitely not spend $500 plus on photoshop but has anyone ever used the lightroom one? It's a lot cheaper but don't really know anything about it.

I'm lucky and was able to get it for free through the university where I work. The idea of spending $500+ on a piece of software is kind of mind boggling to me, though now I can't imagine doing digital photography without it. Editing in Photoshop is often my favorite part of the process; it's where I get to really be creative and make the photo "pop" in ways that I can't get straight out of the camera.
