Mangoes to melons week 26 last week of 2nd tri <<insert emotions here>>

Hey girls! I hope everyone is doing lovely!!

I’m sure we are all really starting to look pregnant!!! You get quite a lot of attention which I wasn’t really expecting. Sometimes I like it but sometimes it annoys me :) Hehe

I’ve been doing okay. Have been having contractions.. Braxton Hicks. I had 9 in an hour and a half yesterday so they asked me to come in. My doc checked my cervix and it was closed!! Thank God... But she was very concerned. Wanted to start me on Procardia to stop the contractions but decided to wait. I’m going to have a cervical lengthening ultrasound done at my next scheduled appointment which is next Thursday. She says if my cervix is short I may have to come out of work.... That will be extremely hard on us financially so I hope hope hope that isn’t the case.

I’ve been trying very hard to stay hydrated. My contractions are only exertion related. I mainly get them at work or when doing housework or something. I work a very strenuous job.... 12 hour shifts as a nurse in a busy ICU.... No more lifting and turning patients for me. Which sounds like a dream but is such a pain. It is hard to find 1 person to help you turn a patient.... let alone find 2 to do it for you.

My stinkin MIL is giving me fits as well. She is upset because I told her she couldn’t stay in my home for 3 weeks after baby is here. She is from NYC and we live in South Carolina. I just can’t have a house guest during that stressful time!!!

BUT on a better note... I think we have a name for our little man... Hank! He will be Hank Edwin (Edwin is my OH’s middle name also). We really like Hank and think it is super cute / manly too... :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

I had stress related contractions too, not fun at all. But they checked my cervix and there was no movement and checked the length at my 20 week scan so it was all good.

I do still get bouts of them now and again, it's a bit more painful that braxton hicks, more like the beginning of labour so totally freaked me out!

Love the name Hank, so cute!!!

I tried on a billion maternity bras today and finally found a few I like and that actually fit me. But then I remembered I need to buy the kids all new winter PJ's as an Easter present so the Bras went back on the shelf and I spent the money on my kids instead. Darn, that was a good sale too, hate not having work since I moved here!

I know what you mean total maternity clothes i own 1 top and the number of my normal clothes that fit me is decreasing by the day. But i have a house to save for i need to buy everything for the baby my family is huge so there's always a birthday and LO has decided now is a good time to go through a growth spurt lol he's suddenly grown out of clothes and shoes i bought him over Christmas!!

This might be a silly question but forgive the 1st time mum!! Ladies who plan to breastfeed - do you still buy bottles etc in case you can't?

Like most things to do with this pregnancy, I would like to breastfeed, but I'm not going to stress if I can't. But at the same time I don't want to leave LO with nothing to eat!!

I would get bottels as i wanted to BF with my 1st but he just would not lach on. I pumed with my 2nd so had every thing and this 1 i am bottel feeding

Well yeah that's what I was thinking - I have a few friends who have had babies and intended to breastfeed, but for one reason or another it just wouldn't happen

aw that's all lovely! I really like the rocker chair, if our LO hates the coco bloom one we have I think I'll get one of those instead!

Your tommee tippee set is a bargain!

I'm hoping to breast feed, but couldn't last time so I'm backing myself up with bottles etc ... just debating which bottles to buy!

I started off with Avent last time and ended up with Dr Browns as she had quite bad colic so I don't know whether to just buy them first this time!

just realised I answered your question about BF too Conina! see above!!

Oh I'm 24 weeks and viable tomorrow :) Wonder if my ticker will change fruits this week!

Conina. I plan on expressing occasionally for my OH to help with the feeding too so I have bought all the equipment. I wanted to breastfeed really bad with my son and didn't get anything...but it only lasted a couple of weeks as he wouldn't feed properly and would be at it for ages despite the fact I was producing tons of milk he just couldn't get the hang of it but even after I'd decided to give up he still had to struggle for a couple of days until I got some money and was able to go out and buy all the equipment as well as the formula. So yeah I would get it just in case xx
