March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Pampers ... Not papers... They would not be effective!

I've been feeding and winding and feeding and winding for the last 2 hours. Really want some sleep but I put him in his basket and he's wide awake! Must have tries 5 times at least. DH has gone to the spare room. He's been awake since around 6pm so must be tired now surely!!!

Glow - birth story is on post 492 which I think is page 49 or 50 if you read 10 posts per page (it's page 25 for me as I've set it to 20 posts per page, halves the number of pages to flick thru!)

Thanks ladies
Bit of a mess emotionally the now – little lamb is constant feeding – milk is in thick and fast – boobs ache
FT – I don’t think I caught your birth plan – would it be ok to post the link or head me in the direction

Huggies 1 are working for us so far – but LL has chubby legs
She only lost 4% of her weight today so pleased

Im just settling after a marathon 1 hour feed – at the back of a 40 mins feed ( 30 mins prior) – I keep thinking is this normal – surely she wants to sleep but no feeding pretty much – tell me it gets better and more time in between feeds ladies
Thanks for all the well wishes

Lx

Vitfa - wish I could tell you it gets better but I'm now just over 3 hours into this feed. He stops, I wind, put him in the cot, he wakes up in 30 secs and the whole cycle starts again.

Any tips on how to get him to stay in his basket other than going for a walk(not practical at 1am) or going out in the car?( again currently not v practical). I am in tears fed up of this.

Lozza, when A is like that I swaddle her and then lay her on my chest until she's asleep. Listening to my heartbeat really seems to relax her. When she's gone floppy, as in completely asleep after about 20 minutes then. Transfer her over.

I really hope you're ok.

X

What Laura said....
plus
Wind her for longer than you think, gently, rubbing from 8 to 4 clockwise, especially if there's legs held up to chest.
:hugs:

Lol Emera, I love when Keira is on the boob hunt too. It's so adorable, she looks like a shark with her mouth wide open moving her head around looking for it!

hope it got better lozza...massive  when N like that and i know he's full he gets the dummy...xxx

I'm here :hi:

Oh boy, I'd conveniently forgotten about cluster feeding and we are only on night
3.... I can't remember now when it got better.... Sounds like it is very common anyway.

I'm going to try and pop in later to have a good look at posts.

Hope everyone is well xx

Lozza, we have had the night from hell too. She fed 5 times in 3 hours (she was falling off/asleep each time) and then as soon as we put her down the crying would start again. We changed her nappy twice, let her fall asleep on us, infacol, double dose of infacol, used the dummy, everything, but as soon as she went back down...crying...for both of us by the end. Eventually I fetched up her Moses basket thinking a change of scenery (and more enclosed than the crib) may help, and she eventually dropped off, but not before I'd got beyond stressed and oh and I were snipping at each other

Result - zombie parents

:hi: hi Widger! Yep, cluster feeding is the order of the day for most of us!

Hope you are doing well? You sound like you are coping better than I am right now!

Is Daniel enjoying being a big brother, or does he not fully get what's going on yet? Can't imagine how you deal with 2!!! xxx

Loo - I'm still in the zombie honeymoon period. Daniel is sussing out what he thinks of this baby. First day he was delighted and excited. Yesterday he was ok but not too happy with me and kept kicking the bouncer in protest.... I'm sure he will let me know how he feels today.

I'm seriously running on empty now... Have to sleep between feeds today and get hubby out with Daniel. I need to catch up to be on form for my other baby boy. Did do story time with him last night and he was snuggling me so tight xx

We are now on hour 4 of this feed and if I don't get sleep soon I think I'm going to cry. She just won't sleep! :(

I think there must be something in the air last night for these babies...i.didnt get the same night as the one before....M quite unsettled...not as bad as some of you ladies. I am wondring if i dont wind properly...she was very restless and grizxly in her moses basket last night but not awake as such.....really noisy but cos she wasnt actually awake i left her but obviously couldnt drop off myself. I am stumped if she doesnt need food or nappy change. Have been winding for longer and a different position but not alit comes up...just think.cos she has a good latch she doesnt get wind at all??!! And infacol....i.have used it but how on earth do you stop your LO chucking it out of the side of her mouth before you get her on boob???
Oh and totally with you on boob bobbing...she is so cute wjen she rummages to find nip and then doesnt latch first time. And soooo sweet when she twists her head to.side to.gulp for boob and its soooo the wrong direction ha ha
Hi.widger....hope you are ok? Yep to cluster feeding but mine seem to.be early evening
Question...when is everyone moving towards bath/change/feed and bed upstairs with monitor around 7-7:30pm to get routine started? Still feed around 11am etc but getting used to.going down properly. I am thinking around 4 weeks ish
Vitfa....hi....thibgs will

Vitfa...that was meant to.read...things will get better hun...you are still.in.the realms of unstable hormones...mine are passing just around now. I feel less weepy...unless i.watch catch up.obem!!!!...more emotional about it now than i was during pregnancy.

Oh and i have HV this morning....need to.ask about restlessness etc etc....you think.its a sign.of growth.spurt???

So decided to stop the infants friend see if that helped bubs upset belly.. He was more settled today and seemed happier.. Then this evening we had another projectile vomit episode!! So back to the infants friend!! I spoke with my health nurse and she seems to think he was having a growth spurt and that was the reason for him being so unsettled! We will see how we go now back on the infants friend... Also got baby an appointment with an osteopath next week! Hope they can help him feel better!! His so cute when his happy I hate seeing him sad!

Also on cluster feeding when I spoke with my health nurse today she told me to try not to cluster feed as baby confuses the wind with being hungry so feeds more then is to full causing an upset belly. So baby just gets more upset. Makes sense but it's hard when your baby is screaming at you!

WSS ^^

The health nurse told me the same thing & so I took the advice & LO is doing much better
