March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Had M asleep on me for an hour....i usually move her to carrycot but i am loving the cuddles today...bad habit really and dont often let her sleep on me but she is sooo warm and smells good :happydance:

Lads PLEASE look up how to co-sleep safely its totally safe if you do it right! :hugs: stop feeling bad about sleeping with and cuddling your babies! Its what you are meant to do. BF releases hchemicals in us and baby that actually makes you sleepyu as we are designed to boobie and doze! Ts only our weird western society that thinks babies should be independant from birth! Its not bad habits its natural, you are all doing so fab, enjoy those snuggles they don't last long!! :hugs: xxx

Afm. OH invited people roundd for dinner, I'm cooking a 3 course meal and hoping the kiddies behave :haha: the GF is 32 weeks preggo though so maybe it will be good for them to get a taster,! F will likely be angelic now! :haha:

mitch i think it is normal for babies to sometimes not poo for several days at a time and yay for cuddles

waula - super mummy! i think you should post a link/the recipe for the brownies. they might be the new thing we all have to try

loo - congrats on successful ikea trip!

kym - not sure what to say about bath except that the first bath we did was too cold and R cried. we now make it much warmer and he loves it

good luck emera on the 3 course dinner!

we bought a baby carrier today this one

https://www.infantino.com/product.cfm?product_id=1194

i tried on loads in the baby shop and this was the only one to fit. im not especially petite but a lot of them did not adjust small enough for me. im not keen on the actual sling material type ones. it looks good so far and cost £35 so quite affordable. i will now be able to walk the dog off the path which will be nice!

emera - i completely agree re co-sleeping/cuddles... i had fairly strong opinions before i had N and he's teaching me a lot! hope the 3 course meal goes well!!!! brave lady...i'm still on freezer meals from my mad cooking spree before N was born!!!

mrscup - recipe is 200g dark choc, 100g milk choc, 250g salted butter, 400g soft brown sugar all melted together in pan over low heat...off heat then add 4 large eggs one at a time and mix. then sift in 5oz plain flour and 2oz cocoa powder, mix. mix in 100g raspberries. scrape into 20x30cm tray lined with baking parchment. sprinkle on top another 100g raspberries. bake for 30-35mins at 160deg fan in middle of oven. its not very low fat!!!!! :dohh: but they are immense. :munch: we need it for BFing right???! :haha:
xxx

Cupcake - I have that carrier. I haven't used it yet as I absolutely love my Moby (LO's asleep in it right now) I think hubby will like the carrier better, the Moby confuses him a bit.

All your cooking has convinced me to defrost some of Mitch's cookies.

Grrrr, articles like that on cosleeping annoy me so much. Now more people have ammo for why its dangerous. Actually, as Emera says, there are safe and unsafe ways to cosleep.

This is an interesting article, it's aimed at health care professionals to advise women but there is some good stuff in it. https://www.unicef.org.uk/Documents/Baby_Friendly/Guidance/4/bedsharingpolicy.pdf For me, I haven't really done it as much as i thought i would, maybe because i'm not sure that i can secure T in bed yet (I want to get a rail so he can't fall out. But this morning i accidentally fell asleep while feeding him. He was between me and OH which i think isn't safe generally, and i was KNACKERED which is partly why I haven't wanted to do it as i thought i wouldn't respond... but actually at one point OH moved over on the bed towards us and in my sleep i smacked him away. So I guess I do respond! T slept SOOO much better than normal!

Today OH had a meeting in a nice little town so me and T went along and shopped and then met OH for lunch. When we got home his mum had got a team of cleaners in so our house looks lush and clean and lovely. I love it. They'd even put a load of washing on. And she left us cash for us to have the cleaner more regularly. Yaaaaaaaaaaay! If OH isn't going to help with housework then i'm happy for him to pay for a cleaner!

missey - yay for clean house and having a cleaner!

thanks for the recipe waula i will def give it a go at some point

Would you think this might be helpful for cosleeping?

Also, hahhaha https://www.thefoodoflove.org/breastfeed-in-your-sleep.htm

Emera - you seriously are superwoman, three course meal and two under two to look after??

Hubby is in back bedroom at the moment as he needs to be on form to look after D so I've been co sleeping with B as have a king size bed too so plenty of room. It has been only way to get B to sleep some nights. I tried breastfeeding lying down but flow seemed quite quick for B so think I prefer feeding him sat up.

So not such a good night last night. I did at least get sleep from 1130 to 230 which was great but then up every hour feeding again. This little boy is so much more demanding than his little brother. Hoping he's a sleeper eventually like his older bro.

Missy congrats on one month!
That bed rail says it's only for a single bed. I don't know if it could be made to fit a larger bed.

Dinner went great :) made Lyonnaise Salad for starter, roast rolled pork belly with apple stuffing, roast pots and broad bean, asparagus, spinach and purple sprouting broccoli on the side. Then kept it simple and did lemon meringue pie for pudding :). Yum! Had a fun evening, chatted lots, palmed F off on OH's mates who got very soppy. Wrapped all Roh's presents up, made some mini quiches and breaded chicken fingers and little jellies and a dinosaur made out of fruit for tomorrow and I'm now finally in bed feeding F and think I have everything organised for the party tomorrow!

Can't believe my little man is 2 tomorrow already!! Seems like yesterday he was lying right here like F is now, and suddenly he's running about telling me what to do and asking for chocolate bunnies! Better try and get some sleep in now, as although we are just having a small party 5 toddlers together s going tto be madness even though there will be 6 adults!! :haha:

Missy, my friend had a similar bed bar made by lindam - from argos - and she said it worked out well.

Happy Birthday Roh!

Gah!!!! What follows a day from heaven????? Yep, you guessed it... A night from hell!!!! Woo!!!! Only 2 and a half hours in and the screaming hasn't stopped

Marvellous!

Happy birthday to Roh. I don't know about you Emera, but ever since new baby has come along D seems massive. Such a big boy. His head, bum... you name it. He appears huge. I've got 2 months until he is 2 and know how quickly that will go.

Loo :hugs:

Just managed a 1130 - 145 sleep. I'll take it.... for now anyway.

Happy birthday roh.

Hugs loo - im finding no two days nights are the same its fustrating. sorry your doctor was useless .have you considered a complementry route? my sis in law was like tht as a baby and thts how my mil got into bach etc, maybe worth a look into.

Vitfa - so frustrating. I keepbtelling myself that this will get better but just can't see when. I'm worried about copimg with 2 under 2 when hubby goes back to work. I can barely get washed and dressed now, what will I do when have to organise toddler too :dohh:

I know everyone says it gets better i dnt see it. i dont want to wish her growth but im needing the settle down stage xx
