March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

FT - the visitor madness is hugely exhausting - we've had no visitors for 3 days now and i know this sounds mean but i'm loving it!!! relaxed feeding = full baby, more sleep, relaxed me...

We're using a dummy FT - didn't want to but only use it when i'm sure everything else is sorted and he's doing his tired growl and he spits it out once he's asleep. The other useful time is when he's got wind in the evenings...dummy and a cuddle and all is right with the world and has stopped him comfort sucking me then puking everywhere... The thing i don't like about it is if N is hungry and we put the dummy in he shuts up and sucks on that so very aware I don't want him sucking on it when he's hungry...

Lozza... we have a poo stain on his nursery rug  i tried to get it out... but it wont shift!!! defo NOT glam

Thanks laura... i hadnt considered a dummy untill he sucked his thumb... think i will keep his mitts on!!! :haha:

i just braved the weighing scales.... 7 pounds left of preggo weight!!!! shame i had about 2 stone to lose before pregnant :haha: need to get ''feeling ok about myself'' in time for our september holiday.... but its so hard with c-sec.... all im allowed to do is walk.... and i cant do that with the baby as im not allowed to push pram or use the baby carrier  If i lived in a big city or town i would push a pram anyway..... but i will only bump into my MW if i take digs around our small town.... she is ALWAYS running about in town

edit to add: thanks waula...xxx

MORNING LADIES!

ive been stuck in visitor hell - hence ive not been able to get on here all weekend. Honestly, just when u think everyone and their son has met the baby.... there is someone else who hasnt :haha: i shouldnt complain as everyone is lovely, but its pretty tiring.

Hope your all well - i went back a few pages but no chance of reading everything ive missed :(

So digs stump FINALLY came off the night before last... on day 14! honestly, everything about him is chilled haha. QUESTION ABOUT THE STUMP - when your LO's came off did the tummy button look like an innie straight away?? if so, i think digs has an outie (i dont care either way - just curious). anyway now the stump is off we can finally ''tummy tub'' him

Digs fed last night at midnight, 5am and then 8am - so i feel quite refreshed today. I always change Digs nappy at bedtime, feed him in our bed, let him fall lightly asleep in my arms then put him in his crib for the night...seems to work for us. If i put him in there wide awake he grizzles though. The room is always about 20degrees. We dont swaddle - just a couple of celular blankets.

His poo is still yellow and is always runny..... likewise to all of you ive heard this is normal xxx

As for me..... vitfa, was it you who said you have now got piles? Sorry to be TMI but so have i thanks to those STUPID iron tablets (which im currently not taking - i refuse to until i get my lactulose). Ive never had them before and theyare awfulllllllllll.

Its also crap not being able to take my iron tablets as im pretty sure its my aneamia thats making me tired.... and not digs :(

Gah sorry, this post was a bit me,me,me :nope: at least i can be on here this weerk now tho to keep up with you all :happydance:

Yep piles and constipation. in taking lactulose and my iron. it can take 4weeks for iron to come back up depending on the drop. ive missed a few doses and can feel the effects x

Waula - Congrats on the smile, isn't it amazing to see! He is so adorable!

I finally tried flipping her over to her tummy and she was out and asleep literally seconds after. I even got 3 hrs sleep!

Hi Lads!!!

I'm loving the chatter today!! Lozza :haha: with Z weeing everywhere! must admit I've been wee'd on a few times by J. I never had this problem with the girls because it normally just trickles down but with boys it's a whole different ball game  :haha:
We have the heating on all night too and like you have the room around 21/22. I think the gro-egg is shit to be honest as the recommended temp of 16-19.5 feels bloody freezing to me  J has a swaddle blanket and a doubled over cellular and he seems fine like that.

FT - glad you've survived visitor hell! I agree with you it's lovely but soooo tiring at the same time...get's a bit overwhelming especially if hormones are playing havoc! Lovely pic of your little man

Well OH went back to work today  I burst into tears last night and I did my whole first night alone. J really good fed at 12...down at 1.00am then back up at 3.10am until 5.00am which was a bit of a slog to get him back to sleep. I suppose I could moan if he was crying but he never does he's just wide awake and wants you to talk to him :dohh: I tried the Dummy but he just kept gagging and spitting it out. I then went downstairs to get an Avent one to try and when I came back up he'd fell asleep on his own
Back up at 8.00am, fed changed and dressed, fell asleep fairly quickly so went to my sisters and he didn't wake up until 12.15! fed, changed back to sleep again and he's still asleep now!

Emera - Happy Birthday to Roh!!! :hugs:

Waula - :happydance: for first smiles and gorgeous pics of N

awww waula i cant wait till digs smiles at me for real... and not just cos he is doing a poop

glow - yer its tough when our OHs go back to work isnt it? I had a little cry when mine did, thats for sure.

oh gosh... think digs is doing a MASSIVE poop.... the little sounds he makes gives him away :haha: ive yet to witness a REAL ''poonami''... perhaps this will be my turn

Meant to say....I ordered some thank you/birth announcement cards off Ebay and they arrived today. They are gorgeous! they came wrapped in blue tissue paper and blue ribbon. They were £11 inc P&P for 25 inc envelopes.

Here they are:

Haven't read back properly, but Glowie the cards are lovely!!

Just ducked out to see if i can pop F in her basket as had her in the sling all day and think she might want to stretch. 5 toddlers here, its bedlam!!!

Roh has sooooo much Duplo, what a lucky boy! Going to stick a candle in the fruit dinosaur now!

Glow - those cards are fab, do you have a link?

Midwife's just been for her final visit... Z weighs 9lb8oz which is an oz a day since she came last week! His birth weight was 9.1. She reckons he drinks way more than he needs which is why we have a full dirty nappy with every feed and I asked about a dummy which she thinks might help if he'll take it. She thinks no chance of nipple confusion with him! She reckons he's about to roll from back to front too - he rolled from front to back yesterday so I need to keep a doubly close eye on him when he's on the changing mat!

I need to get him to sleep really instead of all this feeding. Since 8am this morning he's only has 2 hour long naps, has either been feeding or lying on his gym awake the rest d the time, oh, or weeing!

Glow...must get our thank you cards sorted...they are lovely. Is the company Bride andBeyond. Will have a look...how long did they take?

Great weight gain Lozza!!!

Here's the link https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/brideandbeyonddesigns/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686 first class service only ordered them Thursday and arrived today so really quick considering bank holiday weekend.

Emera - Can we get a picture of the fruit dinosaur? That sounds like a great idea to avoid all the sugar of a cake. Also Duplo! I can't wait until then!

Lozza - When I was in the hospital the lactation consultant said to switch holds to prevent too much wear on one part of your nipple. I think if you're not having any pain then you can stick with the same position. I don't know about clearing different pores.

Speaking of which the other day E latched for a second then pulled away. One of my pores didn't get the message and squirted all over his face. It continued for over a minute. I just had to sit there with a rag waiting for it to finish. That is so weird to watch.

Glow - Beautiful announcements. I think it's funny that our boys weighed the same amount and have the same initials (in a different order).

Last night E would not go to sleep. He would cry whenever I put him down either in his bed or mine. But he would stop the second I picked him up. A couple hours of this and no sleep had me crying out of frustration and hubby came in told me I'm a good mama and sent me to bed. He took care of the rest of the diaper changes and snuggling. I woke up with the little guy in his bed, hungry and a giant poo smear on the changing table. But at least I got some sleep!

I don't think 4 changing table covers was enough.

Mitch - I ordered them Thursday afternoon, had a proof on Friday via email and they were posted 1st class yesterday and arrived today. Seriously lovely packaging and attention to detail too. :flower:

wow. digs just pooped and wee'd everywhere the moment the nappy came off - there was wee all over him bless him. I hate doing clothes changes.... why are there not poppers on the arms of sleepsuits? :grr:

so can anyone help with my cord Q from earlier as all of your LO's lost their cord a while ago right? I just wanted to know if the tummy button looked like an innie straight away?

glow - those notifications/thank you cards are lush!

Ft....M's looked like an innie from when the cord came off but i think its common for them to.start as outties and change!!??

Thanks glow....task for tonight is to drag out my laptop (its my work one and has been stuffed under stairs for over a month :haha:)...and get the announcement cards organised. Hopefully only need 25 but may need to.double up. Laptop going to be easier to.upload photos and check proofs etc.

Fab...they are a bargain....can you write a personal thank you message on the back of them glow? Are they pretty much like postcards?

A's tummy button is an outie at the moment but is getting more and more like an innie everyday.

Just had a poomageddon! It was everywhere and she was having nappy free time! Oops!

Glowie, those cards are lovely!

We went to the clinic today to get A weighed. She's now 10lbs 2oz and she had the worlds biggest wee in the scale!

FT Roh's belly buton is going to be an innie when he stops being so darn skinny! :haha: it looked sort of outie for ages though. Very hard to tell at this point I'd say. F's belly button is so neat though! :)

FT - I meant to say before but completely forgot. When E's stump first fell off it was an outie but then it bled a bit and the bump disappeared and became an innie.
