March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Kel, sounds rough... Take care of yourself and your bub! :hugs:

Is it normal to have certain times of day when they don't eat as much? I know it is, but someone please tell me I'm not crazy. In the afternoon G has almost no interest in the boob. Then at night she wakes up.

I managed to pump 1.3 ounces after a feeding... That's a good thing. I ate more today and I'm taking fenugreek three times a day.

Kel - :hugs: hope the clot takes and you rest up hun! X

City - Glad you are eating better, look after yourself! And yes F eats most morning and evening and not much n the afternoons. X

Morning lads

Glow, would love to meet soon! Ditto Loo who I had to cancel when I shot off to the Midlands. In fact, we ought to consider a NW meet....when we feel up to it.

Kel, well done you for having a successful natural labour but I'm so sorry the ineptitude of the docs caused the spinal leak. Take it easy.

:hugs: Waula, I hope N hits the sleep button soon.

Do I dare say we had a good night? E went from midnight to 4am and 5.30 to 7.30. I got a goofy grin as my wake up hello. Long may this continue...

Morning all...pretty good night after nasty evening. M slept from 10:30-3:45 then 4-5:45 so still getting that shorter morning stretch..cant complain really but hope blackout blind arrives soon...could help i guess??!

Thanks for all your support and advice ladies...glad i am not the only one suffering with evening horrors. I am sooo tired by evening cos i havent napped duribg day and have been doing stuff that it makes those times feel worse i am sure. Just glad there is nothing obviously wrong with M ...espec as Laura and Loo going through same with same age babues. I bought a what to expect in.first year and this type of 'pattern' is not mentioned...i know every baby is different but still seems a common occurance to me!! Grrrrr

Waula...i feel your pain but being a week ahead of me i was hoping thing would get better:haha:

kel...big :hugs: to you and congrats on.your little lady. Will be reading you birth story this morning.

Mouse....yep M mammoth feeds morning and then goes to at least 3 hors between

3-4 hours between from around 9am til 5-6pm then loads of feeds gain
Afm...hope i can get enough expressed milk off for going out tonight and affording me a couple of glasses of vino:thumbup:

skadi.....sounds like a great appt....go keira!!!!

morning ladies,

massive hugs to those of you who had a bad evening/night. we were ok here. fed around 11.00pm then 3.00am awake till 4.30am then back down until 7.00am so essentially only up once during the night so very happy with that!

even though we are FF we have had decrease in poo too. gone from 4+ a day to one or two but they are much bigger now!!

kel sorry you had such a rough time, look after yourself x and Rowan is a unisex name here. was in our top 10 names for a boy.

Loo - you should have popped round! I'm only 2 mins from b&q in Gee Cross! good luck with the visitors xx

Mrs crow a NW meet sounds good. xxx

hope those of you that have had bad night get some rest today. sleep when baby does and forget washing and household chores etc!

Glow...i have cancelled a friends meet up today to spend most of the day in bed with Mia beside me:happydance:...totally endorsed by hubby. He could see i was doing too much and by time evening hit i was knackered. Plus out with girls tonight so
want to be awake. You have a good day too x

Just expressed 120ml in 15 mins...not bad. Need more!!!!:haha:

MsC - your post made me smile!!!!! goofy smile plus a decent night - well done E!!!! :baby::thumbup:

Mitch - good sleeping from M - hope the evenings get easier...I'm just like you - feel ok during the day then regret not having a nap when it gets to the witching hours!! xx

NW lads...jealous of a potential meet up...! anyone in the midlands for a rival midlands meet??! :winkwink:

N eventually conked out at 5am. He's now woken up coughing, snotty and got man-flu it would seem...poor little man...

Kel - :hugs: hope the clot works xxx

I'm supposed to be going for a pub lunch with a friend and her 8week old today...hoping N going to be ok with his man-flu...might cancel and end up on the sofa with him all day...

Happy fridays everyone

City - That is a good amount to pump after! I usually get around 2 oz now after a feed... I think my oversupply has settled a bit. So 1.5 oz sounds like a good amount!

MsCrow - Congrats on the good night!

Mitch - Good luck with the pumping - sounds like you definitely deserve a glass (and a nap!)

As for us... I can't believe it! We finally achieved STTN! Went from 11:30 to 4:30! How depressing is it though that 5 hours is considered STTN? I think she could have slept longer but she woke herself up with a toot and realised she was hungry. What a difference from the last nightmare of a week of no sleep from 11 to 5am and then an hour of sleep between screaming and feeding!

:haha::haha: to keiras tooting waking herse up...made me giggle. My little girl is such a noisy sleeper...right grunter and groaner

waula....i wish i was in midlands for meet up....i am way down south but would be up for a meet up with peeps and can see my folks too (they are in Telford).

Essential oil experts...missy / emera....i have read that lavendar and camomile good for babies but also saw only after 3 months...which is right. Want to mix with some oil for massage to relax her after bath. Recommendations please??? X x

Hmm lavender is OK to go on skin neat but I think you have to be more careful with chamomile... I'd maybe use just the base oil yo massage and then put the oils in a cup of boiling water nearby if you're worried...

I'm nit sure oh understands the impact that sleep deprivation is having. He doesn't same up at all at night. So usually gets at least 7 hrs of solid sleep. Then, admittedly he gets up about 7 and lets Ms sleep another hour or so. But yesterday he moaned how tired he was and then went fie a nap at 5 while I watched t. Last night we were talking and he said "you slept until half 11 the other day! " urr. Yes but I'd been up every hour from 3 untll 8 and not slept much before that. Last night he slept soundly from midnight untill 9am while I Woke up at 3, 5, 5.30, 6.20, 7, 7.30, 8 and 8.30. Then he took him down at 9 and said I'll wake you up in an hour. I'm so tired. I could cry.

Hes off work at the moment and promised ages ago he'd do s night feed if I expressed. Now he's saying he'll use that in the mornings. :(

Kel dural taps are yuk. I met s lady with one. She looked in so much pain. Hugs. Xxx

Waula - hope N man flu settles and enjoy your lunch.

Mitch - good for you having a chilled day! enjoy your wine tonight, I might have one myself!

skadi - yay for getting a good night sleep x

missy - think you need to give your OH a talking to! mine feels guilty not helping because he is working, which obviously I don't mind. hope you get some sleep xxx

mw been this morning and j up from 8.3 on Monday to 8.8 today so happy with that. she's having to phone me next week to check cord has fallen off. OH is dying to get in bath with him.

:hugs: Missy... Sorry about your oh. And the worst thing is, trying to "make" them help (or even waning it... a lot) makes me feel guilty, like a bad mom. I'm the one who pushed for this baby timeline, so I feel like I should do most of the work.

The good part is, I'm to the point where MIL can come and want to hold the baby and I.'ll be like, YES!

Got three good hours of sleep... Up for a feed. DH settled her while I went straight to sleep. Yum. I think it took him forever, but at least she's sleeping well in the bassinet now!

You guys ahead of us later moms hitting hard spots is scary.

I figure at the very least I can look forward to feeding on-demand, not waking her every 2.5-3 hours.

Ok so how can I get him to go longer etween feeds? I think I've fed 3 time this morning already since 8am, it's now 11 and I was feeding pretty constantly between 1 and 6 this morning. This can't be right and can't go on!

Lozza....dont really have any advice as such....M is pretty good til about 6am but does tend to refill herself from the night before from 6-9 with hourly feeds then sleep. Does Z sleep better during the day? Do you keep it noisy in house during the day? There may be a daytime and nightime confusion....there are some tips on internet to try to help reverse them. Try and sleep during day when.he does...at least until its resolved x x big:hugs:

edit..just thought..is he actually eating and swallowing milk on night feeds or could it be comfort sucking. M wont take a dummy yet but perhaps Z will...if he is just chomping and not eating then it may help??!

Missy- :hugs: I 'm having to do all nighttime feeds/ changes right now -DH said that he'll get up if it's before 2 am on a night he has to work... Great because the first time she usually wakes is 2! Last night she was up at 2:30, 3:30, & 5:30 and I'm having to pump after to be able to leave bottles for the sitter today and tomorrow. I just don't think we should be made to feel guilty for asking them to get up once.

Mitch- enjoy your day relaxing, sounds fab

Waula- hope N feels better soon

Glow- E's cord stump didn't fall off until 3 weeks but when it did it was 100% healed underneath and it didn't look red or bothered by the extra time.

Going to try and get another hour or so of sleep:sleep:

well M has slept great this morning....a couple of 2 hour stretches but have I slept too??? Er no oopsie. I am still in PJs in bed with laptop...watching crap TV and ordering our announcement cards (thanks Glow!). So I am relaxing.

Hopefully after next feed she will grab another hour or so I can drift off...... I am feeling better for not rushing around and stressing over getting her washed, changed and dressed to go out

Waula - hope N feels better soon x x

Cord stump....M's only fell off after 2 weeks or so.....like KKL it was ready and wasnt red or 'wet' underneath....and a definate innie from day 1

missy - just read about the BANG this morning.... i missed it! Boo. also, MEN!!!! :grr:

emera - yer i agree on the ''dont get into the competitive thing''. ffunny thing is, people always hv an opinion on EVERYTHING and it always differs from next person. can never win. funny enough on the weight gain thing, im worried G is gaining TOO much.... just proves... can never win!

Its nice we can all come on here tho and talk openly about LO's weight gain/loss, poo's, sleepless nights, horrorific evenings etc.... we are an unjudgemental and supportive bunch arent we :hugs:

waula - :hugs: for your friend and her LO hunni :hugs:

kymied - i hope the formula top up works for you i you do it. But maybe E is just going to grow in spurts rather than steadily? i would try not to worry hunni as all babies are different :hugs: i hope the doc was understanding at least xxx

glow
- yup mine is orangey too now :hugs: just wanted to know that orange was normal :haha: as for HV... no thats not enough notice at all :grr: mine visited on day 10 and then again yesterday. :hugs: BTW g's cord came off on day 14 xxx

mitch - G does exactly the same. falls asleep or is content when we walk him about, but put him in crib in evening and its crying central. ive come to accept he just wants contact as he is nearly always well fed and burped etc! x

kel - will do! x and will read ur story in a bit too x

loo - hope the visiting madness is not TOO bad hunni :hugs:

skadi, crow, rashy, wudluv, lozza, everyone else - :hugs:

Having a nice day with G atm.... but last evening was TERRIBLE again. what is it with our LO's and evenings? Lol. trying to express atm so that DH can do the 3am feed and give me a full nights sleep  YIPPEEEE! :) wishful thinking though :haha:

:hi: FT - good luck with the expressing...

anyone doing tummy time with LO's?? does it count if N lies snoozing on his tummy on my chest whilst i watch telly??!!
