March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

evening all,

lovely smiles mitch

great app skadi, womderful that keira is doing so well

FT we are also doing passport application at the mo. as we are both born after 1982 we have to provide all the info again for both our parents! arrgh i hate the form. hub going to try to take the photo himself if not we will be off to a photo studio

R was registered today! hurrah!

sorry i cant comment on what everyone has been up to. im really really tired.

im just waiting for dinner to cook and then im off to bed. i dont care that it will be at about 7pm!

How long do passports take? We go away in 15 weeks and I've not even thought of applying yet.

Mitch, great smiles! I'm slightly (very) jealous!

D had a great night, followed by another screaming day. I guess I should be lucky it's that way round!

Visitors from Wales were great and only stayed 2 hours. I wish it would be the same for Al's parents tomorrow!!!

Hope everyone is well? xxx

loo - im not sure how long they take but we are going away in about 4 weeks so hopefully not too long!

Emera thanks. I typed out a reply then lost it! He slept for 2 hours 1-3 when I had visitors, typical! They bought lunch with them, I was so pleased! Then I managed to feed and keep him awake til 5, then when he started grizzling I went out with the pram-instant sleep! Kept walking til 6.15. Soon as we got home he woke so we've bathed and I'm now feeding. Think I may have stretched it to 3 hours!
He definitely feeds the whole time, when I rang nct they told me to watch for comfort sucking. He's just greedy I think, evidenced by the number of poos which shows he's taking in more than he needs to. I need to be more patient to wind but it's hard at night to keep trying!

Enjoy your night out Mitch!

So glad it's the weekend, DH can take some of the load now!

Yay for a good night Loo (I'm focussing on the positives...:winkwink:) and glad your visitors were well behaved... good luck for the in-laws tomorrow...

Cupcake - good job on getting him registered...I took N in yesterday to do it - all very real!!!

passports - er...hadn't thought that far...still haven't done the hmrc forms yet either for child benefit...i'm blaming baby brain - but really if I have spare time I want to bake things rather than fill out hideous forms!!! must do it tomorrow...

Mitch - have a fab night out tonight - well impressed with the expressing 9oz is a fair amount!!! I'm assuming thats not just from one session??!!! :holly: :haha:

My friend with her baby in NICU has just come home today  can't imagine what its been like to leave your LO in hospital...:hugs: to those of us who had to do it...

Another friend had her baby boy today and guess what she called him.... Noah!!! she texted to say it had been their no 1 boys name for ages which seemed a little defensive!!! trying to see it positively that they obviously like the name but just think its a tad weird. oh well...

I think that passports take 4-6 weeks to process, we've just sent off for Leah's as we're going away to France in July for Amelia's 2nd birthday :) Was really tough trying to get a photo done seeing as they're still so little but we managed to find a photo shop that did it for us :)

Anyone doing anything exciting tomorrow? Weather's supposed to be awful :(

Oh Waula... that is weird. Although one of our grrat friends has a son called Edward. But its s family name for us. Hope your little dude is less sniffy...

Mitch. That is a well cute smile.

I sorted out the baby's wardrobe today. Gave all the nrwbirn stuff to my friend. I feel a bit sad! He's only got about 7 sleep suits now. Oops. He's got tons which are 3-6 months.

Thanks for the oh advice! I feel a bit bad because in the day he's amazing with him. Plus emera, I feel the same. I'd rather have him rested and happy and able to help me in the day! Next tome he gets a day off though I may do that!

Mitch. Cute smiles and I'm jealous of your night out. I was meant to be out for dinner with the girls tonight but I forgot and I'm soooooo sleepy anyway. X

Wow, what a day. So B was up from 12-3am in lots of pain from wind and it was so exhausting for me and for him poor thing. He's been fine up until the last two days but it really seems to be affecting him. Today after every feed he's taken ages to sleep as he's been writhing around and crying (which then gets him gulping in more air). I've tried the massage, moving positions... etc etc. With no help.

Anyway, instead of just grinning and bearing it I've started drinking fennel tea tonight as it apparently helps with wind.... worth a shot don't you think? Plus tomorrow I have an appointment with a cranial osteopath. Some people think it is mumbo jumbo but it is worth a shot. I don't think I told anyone about my birth but it was all very quick - 3 hours with half of that time pushing as he was back to back and eventually arrived with his cord wrapped round his neck twice (those seconds when he didn't cry.... felt like years ) Anyway, friend's of mine had problems with their babies, saw a cranial osteopath and things improved. Got appointment tomo so will let you all know how it goes.... again, worth a try.

FT - I asked last night if someone had dry skin/itchy skin. I've come up in a rash on my forearms that was seriously itchy earlier and my mum gave me a claritin tablet and instant relief. I'm also using diprobase cream which seems to be helping a little

Mitch - Enjoy your girly night out... it will feel weird being free from baby and not having someone strapped to your boobs , but great too. Gorgeous pic

I remember getting my passport checked at the post office, pay more I think and got it back within a couple of weeks. Need to remember not to do it too late myself as going away in july.

:hugs: to all the ladies feeding constantly and having cranky babies.... I'm with you :hugs:

hi ladies i found youuu hope your all ok.

sooooo sorry i havent been around had no laptop :( got 1 now tho

i hope your all doing really well xxxx

Widge. I swear by osteopathy. They're amazing. Its totally not mumbo jumbo. I used to get really regular migraines and osteopathy fixed me! Really nice and relaxing too.

uh oh.... just heard an almighty wet trump from the pram. i guess this is the time when i find out if N was ready to move up to size 2 nappies. wish me luck. x

edit...safe.

Widger defo not mumbo - we have tried lots of complimdntary with e - im defo all for anything.

I havent shared my story my either a- because of time and b - because it still gives me nigjtmare and the good bits are very hazy. but e had cord wrapped x3 and i agree the crys were the longest thing ive ever waited on . felt like time stood still.

We have a great nigut last and day , hoping it lasts currently waiting with engorg boob for e to wqke up

lunch tommorow then shopping for baby wearing sling/wrap

love to all xxx

I'm looking forward to it Missy. Even if it doesn't help B long term it is supposed to be relaxing for them.

I'm feeding about 10-15 mins on one boob and that seems to be enough for him. He's obviously an efficient feeder as he gained weight from day one 8lb3 to day six 8lb9, but what about foremilk/hindmilk... Could he just be getting too much foremilk to make him this gassy. D suffered with wind too and I know it is really common as all experiencing it but B has been really bad last two days and nights.

Oh and as for your oh, mine has been getting 7-8hours a night too, thankfully he realises that is so he can take complete control of D who is full on. But when he complains of being tired.... Well I could swing for him :grr:

Edit.- vitfa so pleased you had hood night/day... gives me hope as B one day or two behind E. Hope you have another great night, it makes all the difference xx

Waula are you into size 2s? We are, t was getting marks on his thighs from the smaller ones. They seem better. Had a leaky one today though.

Its so reassuring in here. So often I moan to oh about something and then come on here ans someone else is saying the same. Like t can easily sleep until 3, then he's really rubbish at staying asleep. Seems like that's the norm!

Yeah Missy that sleeping thing is totally normal! Children tend to sleep the deepest between bedtime and 1am. With babies its that first night time block that tends to be the longest, so generally they start sleeping 10ish - 3ish once they drop the feed from around midnight-1am. After that they usually sleep a bit longer at a time so maybe they'll go 10-4 but then still be waking at 4am 5am 6.30am etc. So they will likely extend that first long block, rather than sleeping for 2 longer blocks. When Roh started sleeping from 8pm-2am, i just had to go to bed at 8pm as he was waking every hour after 2am most nights! That 6 hour block was ace though!

Gutted, went to the shop to get some bits and lost all my cash, dropped £40 somewhere :( Glad i had my card on me, but i was sooo angry, i ended up crying all the way home :(

Oh! That explains the 2 hour naps after her 5 hour sleep last night. Glad she wasn't up every hour though and I'll be surprised if we see a repeat soon.

Her baby shower is tomorrow! I don't see much bought off her registry though :( I should have bought stuff during their baby sale but I listened to my mom and didn't.

missy - yep, noticed marks on N's legs and wondered if we risk it...seems he is a little fatty!!! :cloud9:

emera - what? lost £40??? :hugs: poor you... hope ur ok. xxx and 6 hours of sleep? that seems like a dream. i'd take 2 at the minute!!!!

Emera. Boo about the money. Think I would have cried too :hugs:

Skadi, have a great time at the shower!

Waula, size 2's!!! I keep putting D in a size 1 in the hope that they will fit but although she has defo grown, her skinny legs and but are just too tiny. More micro nappies from ASda tomorrow I think. Makes me so fed up to think I have about 300 size 2's in the cupboard because we thought she would be a big baby! She'll grow into them!

D has had a fussy evening and would only settle lay on my chest. BUT gave her a bath at 10pm with a drop of lavender oil in and she fell asleep!!!!!! Amazing! Let's hope she is super sleepy for a few more hours!!!!

Night folks!

Ooh, been meaning to ask...
Does anyone's nipple tips go white after their baby unlatches? I've noticed that sometimes mine do and I have to pinch them before they go pink again. Im worried it means she isn't latching or feeding properly, but it doesn't hurt. I just want her to be doing it properly so she puts some weight on those bones.

Hopefully it's just normal!
