March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Oh and tmi alert ....but i THINK i have piles ...never had before so.i am guessing. Something doesnt feel right....trip to the chemist today...wonderful!!!:nope:

Ouch Mitch. I remember going out with D and having such sore boobs, it almost didn't feel worth it in the morning. I haven't tried expressing yet but want to give 10pm ish feed to hubby soon as that is when B is most content.

As for piles.... Horrible. I'm using germaloid suppositries and the cream. The supp help with making everything (tmi) softer and cream is making my pile shrink a little. Bloody sore though.

Skadi - :hugs:

Hannah - wish I was you

Cranial osteopath later.... Hoping she works wonders

Widge, i'm sure they will. Have fun.

Mitch, sorry about the lumpy bum! I'm looking forward to a night out, not ready yet though, i've enjoyed the lack of fuzzy heads for the last 10 months!

Waula, yay for bio nuts! Isn't it ace?

Emera, gutted for you, i'd cry losing money too. My friend recently went to a cash point to get his rent to give to someone. By the time he got home he'd lost it. Gutting.

I'm off out for lunch with the gals today, me, T, a girl and her 3 month old, a preggo, and a TTC. Babies galore!

Oh ouch mitch I remember going to london for the day when roh was about 4 months old. Didn't feed for about 14 hours! I was crying with pain on the train home!!!

Awful night here! F went down at 12 ish, up at 1.30am for a feed and then up from 3-6am!! Roh got up at 7am, I just cried! OH took both of them away and let me sleep and just bought F in a couple of tmes for feediing. Feel a bit better than I did at 7am, but ergh!!

Emera...i couldnt believe the agony.....wont be doing that again:nope:. Sorry for the bad nigjt but yeah for hubby letting you get some sleep. Hope day gets better.

M sleeping AGAIN...such a lazy girl in the mornings. Think my massive stock of milk knocked her out:haha:

Hehe, F is the same in the mornings! :) she likes to snooze a lot. Normally that is, some days she just seems to want to be awake all day and only has little cat naps. Mitch if you go out again I'd recommend expressing (and chuckng it if you've had wine) when you get home, that really eases the engorgement. Bit of a faff, but its only 15 mins or so work ;)
The day I got back from london I expressed until I felt comfortable. I got 15oz! (both sides) that's almost a pint!! Its a lot of volume, no surprise it hurts eh?

Not sure what was bothering F last night, problem is when she doesn't follow normal pattern at 3am I'm so sleepy and confused I don't interpret her signals right, so I probably did the wrong thing and made her wrose if you know what I mean? :dohh: anyway, here's hoping she's like her big brother and I start to get 4-5 hour sleeps in the next few weeks!! Not holding out much hope really, but I'm keepng fingers crossed at least!

My Dad and Stepmum are going to meet F for the first time tomorrow! They were vsiting on her due date, but she was rue and hadn't shown up! :haha: I'm pretty excited for them to meet her I have to say :)

Ooh got told I looked like I'd lost a lot of weight yesterday! what, since being 41 weeks pregnant? Bloody hope so! :haha: I'm feeling ok actually, although my appetite is massive still, I need to reduce my calories a bit to lose much.

:haha: Loo - nearly hun....nearly... :hugs:

Emera - 15oz??? OMG.

N started to get really angry about being tired. I mean, c'mon - just go to sleep...whats the big fuss about??! The dummy is my best friend at the minute. His eyes go dreamy the second its in. So it would appear the all night grizzling was "eliminated" this morning in 3 tremendous consecutive nappies. Instant happy man back...poor things...

popped out to mothercare this am and got some great nursing tops - double layered vest things which keep tummy covered and actually don't look hideous. ideal.

our nct ladies are off to "cinebabies" on thurs - have a look and see if there's one near you...normal film but less loud and a bit more light and only for people with their under 1's - can't flippin wait!! here's the link https://www.bepanthen.co.uk/community-events/screenings.php

PS - anyone getting a weird sharp pain behind their nipples - like inside the boob itself?? no lumps, i'm feeling fine - just a bit weird...

xxx

Mitch - You have to make sure you express as much as possible if feeding EBM not just for relief but because you don't want to risk your supply dropping at all. I'm jealous of what you can pump, I used to be able to get those amounts but now my supply has settled so after a feed I can usually get around 80mls.

Waula - is it associated with let down at all? Like do you start dripping right after you feel it? My let down feels like a muscle inside my breasts is being pulled very painfully and it happpens between feeds on its own at times. Not sure if that is what you are feeling...

maybe skadi...its not associated with feeding so i'm not sure its dripping and to be honest i don't feel it when he's latched on and my milk is being let down...just odd...but thanks!

Out of the house with our bottle of ebm....quite excited as its very liberating to know i dont have to clock.watch for next feed and worry about getting boob out...i am still iffy about public bf.

So question....i asked my friend who.bf her first for over a year and expressed. I asked her whether after a couple of glasses of wine do.i.need to express and chuck OR if i am not feedibg/expressing til a good 10 hours after last drink.is it ok to.keep??! She said as long as you.leave enough time after drink....basically if you.are ok to.drive you are ok to bf...the milk will be clear. I am confused...is that right.or does alcohol hang around in breast milk for hours. I ask as emera said to.express and chuck...is that cos it is close to.drinking time??? (btw i.only had 2 glasses of wine last night)

Just wanted to say to any b/f ladies who are having trouble with the loo atm, that a daily bowl of bran flakes is like a miracle cure!! When you b/f alot of your fluid that use to keep your BM's soft is diverted to milk which is why it can feel like your poo'ing lumps of glass sometimes and it would tear my bottom to pieces, extremely painful and very bloody sorry if tmi! The joys of motherhood lol:)

thanks 6lil pigs - i was blaming the iron tabs and wondered why things hadn't improved since i've stopped them!!! :haha:  right...more fibre...more fluid...xxx

good luck with the bottle mitch - i loved it when we went out for the day with a bottle but just came home squirting milk everywhere and hugely engorged...painful...i felt like i needed to express to get rid of the excess milk but didn't want to overstim supply...gah i don't know...i'm going to just stick with the boobs and am hoping its not going to be so flashy now i've got safe tops that keeps things covered if i need to bf when i'm out....zxxx

Ok I don't know if it's my breast pump but I don't seem to be able to express much.. I get more by hand then with my pump but still not a lot!!! I must be doing something wrong!! I have a fast flow so you think I'd be able to get heaps but no..

Waula, I've been having those sharp boob pains too. Not associated with feeding, and I don't leak, so not that. Not really sure what it is, but not concerned as I've had a squeeze and there are no lumps or anything.

Mitch, I don't know for sure, but as its ok to have a glass or two of wine whilst bf, then surely you wouldn't need to pump and dump an expressed feed. Don't take my word for it though.

Anyway. Great news! Dharma is extra hungry today which means more feeds which means less time downstairs. Good girl!

Mitch with drinking and bf, the same amount of alcohol gets in your milk as is in your blood. So when pregnant its bad as the baby shares your blood, so its a lot of alcohol. With the milk however they are only drinking it so its a very small amount of alcohol in it. Personally I would say anything over 2 units and you should discard what you pump, or make sure you wait for the alcohol to leave your system. Ideally you should pump as often as you'd feed if you are giving expressed milk as otherwise technically it can reduce your supply. So, if you go out and baby takes an expressed botle, when you get home you should pump to match the feed.
When we were doing an expresse bottle, OH would feed the bottle and I'd take a break, then I'd express for the next day to keep my supply up. Hope that makes sense?

Perfect emera...that makes sense...just presumed that expressing and then feeding with bottle gave me a break.....which it does from bf'ing but i need to replace with expressing the next load. Makes sense to me...i bought some ebm freezing bags today (but pricey!!!!) so can forward plan a bit and store some. I am certainly.a novice when it comes to ebm....however i want the flexibility of a bottle feed for hubby without having to resort to.formula yet.

Loo...good girl D x x

At hairdressers...feel a bit bad for dragging.hubby.over here...they are probably holed up in starbucks....i am here til about 4 so hope they.are ok

post all about me im afraid.....

had another really bad (aka sleepless) night. R was screaming or anything but was just grunting. i think he was trying to poo as he did several massive ones this morning. full change of clothes 3 times.

we do not have enough babygrows...

in my sleep deprived state i thought it would be a good idea to walk the dog and try out my new baby sling.

as i was cutting off the label i also cut off one of the straps

i am so so annoyed with myself. i just ruined a brand new sling.

hubby says i should try and sew the strap back on but im scared it wont be strong enough

Ah Cupcake, nightmare! :hugs: which type of sling was it? Do you have a sewing machine? If so you could just do like 5 runs or so across the cut to make sure its really strong then just check itt each time you use it. :hugs:

Mitch, you do sort of get a break with having some ebm for OH to feed, but you still need to pump, so I guess you are more offsetting the timing rather than a full on break. Still, enough time to have a bath/go out for a meal/go to the hairdressers etc ;)
