March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

oooh i like the idea of lavendar sleepyness Loo!!! good luck for tonight... c'mon D - big long sleeps please!!! we'll see how we get on with size 2's...i don't like leaky nappies!!!! i'd forgotten about all the scare stories you and ft had about toddler children...:dohh: :flower:

skadi - hope the baby shower is fab :hugs:

my DH is home tonight from working away...missed him a lot. only been home one night since monday...then he comes home and we both crash out on the sofa and fall asleep :dohh: so much for some adult conversation!!!! very glad i've got you lads in here too!!!! :haha: xxx

EDIT: not noticed white nips Loo - from what i've heard you'd know if she wasn't latched on as it'd be bloody sore... mine are a bit squashed/flattened when he unlatches

Size 2?!?! Wow! We are not even in size 1 yet. I think P will be in Newborns for another couple weeks, but K could probably wear size 1s now.

The boys are doing good. They are 7 weeks old today!! Evenings are a challenge, but I remain hopeful that they'll be outgrowing this phase soon. (DS outgrew it at 6 weeks.)

For anyone on FB, check out the video I posted. 7 seconds of my world. :)

I hope everyone is doing well. Sending lots of hugs even though I don't get on here as often. :hugs: :hugs:

Edit... Why am I not able to change my profile pic? Something about a security token?

WT i had that too - the security token - seems that the photo's i tried to upload where too big but rather than saying they were too big they said they were missing a security tag...who knows! and i've just seen the video on FB - OMG. they're adorable WT but got great sets of lungs!!!! no takers yet on the babysitters???!!!

Loo, lavender is great eh? F sleeps great after her lavender bath and massage! My nips go white in the middle too! You know i never noticed before but saw it today for the first time and thought, "huh, weird, wonder if thats normal??" I figured it was as it didn't feel any different to normal though. Nice its not only me, ;)

Waula, i dream of 6 hours sleep too, i'm waiting patiently for the day i get more than 2 in one go! :hugs: Roh did it at about 9-10 weeks i think, we'd had lots of 4-5 hour block nights in the few weeks leading up to it though :)

Edit: Awww WT love em, how cute (and noisy!!) are your boys?! :cloud9: I know i just glaze over when both of mine start at the same time! Toddler whine is way louder, but newborn baby crying speaks louder to the emotions i think. Toddler you can usually hand a biscuit and its all fixed! :haha: I'd babysit for you, assuming i could get a babysitter myself! They look all snugglable! :baby:

WT. eek!!!! :haha:

Ok, my baby is sleeping so why am I faffing about on here rather than getting shut eye?!?

Found out my brother has bought D a domain name (i think that's what they are called!) www.Dharmagrohl.com so I can post pics and stuff on there. It's password protected so not everyone can snoop, but when I've had time to sort it out I'll let you lads have a gander to see if it's ok. I've never done anything like this before. Am such a novice!

Evening ladies,

Just coming to say hi  and to let you all know that we're still alive. DH has had this week off work so i've been busy hanging out with him... plus we are both a bit sleep deprived so the last thing I feel like doing is going onto the computer lol.

Kieran is doing pretty good, seems to be growing like a little weed. He started in premie clothing (5-7lbs) but has outgrown those now and is wearing the 0-3 month clothing... so i'm guessing he's about 8lbs now. We have his 1 month check-up on Tuesday so we shall see how much he weighs. Can't believe he will be a month old soon!

I hope everyone is doing well and getting some sleep. Thinking of you all :hugs:

Back from night out.....was fab...really nice but weird!!!

Waula...the 250mls was from 2 sittings...one yesterday and one today...not that prolific yet ha ha

So.i.went out at 7:30 bf M before i left...was worried i hadnt expressed enough til.the mornibg....she only drank 40ml at about 9pm!!! Is now still fast asleep!!! Was grizzly bit not as bad apparently....why??? I feel cheated...is she ok cos i.am not around  she must have defo been comfort sucking cos i was here and not.cos she was hungry....a downfall of bf'ig i.reckon....wonder whether.its an easy.option.to.shove her on.boob....or she can smell the milk???!! Happy but gutted...if that makes sense. Loads of milk left for nigjt feed/s. Shes only had 40mls!!!!! And is very content....

Oh UK ladies.....hubby.found sky channel 63 baby tv...she loved it!!!! Helped.chill.her right.out

2 glass of red wine....v nice and nit feeling

Loo I get the white nipples too but mine is because I have Reynauds disease. You might have Reynauds syndrome Or it CAN be caused by a poor latch at the end of a feed.

Phone!!! Grrr

wine was nice and i.dont feel tipsy like i.thought i.would

right night ladies.....bet hubby has an easy night.now :-(

aw mitch - glad u had a nice night and M is settled...daddy's girl!!!! xxx

Aww Mitch glad you had a good night out! Cheeky M being all well behaved for Daddy, sounds about right though, they are always angels for everyone else! :dohh: You are right about the shoving them on the boob being an easy option. Its something i found really useful later on, although i'm letting F comfort feed alot less than i did with Roh. Still some though.

Actually today i have slightly sore nipples from her doing a bit of comfort sucking, which is rare for me. I think i have a couple of blocked ducts though, and they are sore and really hard to massage when feeding because they are right under where the nipple is! Sore! With F i'm really trying to find alternate ways to settle her, rather than the sucking. She is finally regularly taking the dummy, but only when she's ready to sleep, otherwise she gags and spits it out! I've been watching her cues a bit more, she's starting to give proper tired signals, yawning, blinking, turning her head, so when she does that i swaddle her, give her the dummy and pop her in her basket. About 50% of the time she's going to sleep in there without a fuss.

Right, she's dozed off, so i will too!

Hope all our babbers behave for the night! :hugs:

Sorry, Mitch. I know I'm a little jealous that DH gets cuddles with the baby and I'm just the milk truck! If I'm not feeding or pumping I'm doing laundry. Can't complain too much, though... I did get a nap earlier and DH dealt with crying.

trapped wind seems a cruel thing for a small person who can only cry. N been up since 2am with horrid trumps. on a more positive note i've just fed him bio nuts style and he's calmly fallen asleep on my belly... i'm definitely getting a nap in today.

Think Leah might just have slept 6 hours from 11:15-5:15 :happydance: not completely sure though!

Well done Leah!

Waula, tell me about it. D always has her legs drawn up and is obviously in pain. I just wish I could do something!

Omg...i am in agony....havent fed M from boob since 7:30 last night...they are rock hard and hurt. She is still asleep...i have to.go start expressing a bit to ease the pain before she wakes....

Cant believe she slept 9pm and eventuslly feed at 3:45!!! Hubby did the feed and she first started to.stir about 3am so he went to.get bottle etc...doh......silly boy. He then changed her and she took the whole 110ml but in.stages...got her down.at 4:45 ha ha...no crying...obviously just slower taking bottle. I woke up but left him to it....interested to see what this evening brings with comfort sucking...on boob cos i am there etc. Actually going to put her to.bed early tonight...around 9 and see what happens

Afm....bit of a stuffy head from vino....ibuprofen required but not too bad. Right wheres that pump....i am leaking like a tap!!!!!

Waula - I know what you mean! I think I may have finally figured out though when Z definitely has trapped wind (of the bottom kind) vs being hungry. This morning I got up and rather than feed straight away as usual I've changed (which involved more pooing) and now put him on the mat to play, hoping to hold him off for another 20 mins to try and get 3 hr gaps. Oops, just heard another projectile poo though, sigh...
Had a slightly better night, still dreaming of a night like Leah's though. Lucky you Hannah!

So far its 3 am and we have not yet achieved sleep. This must be payback for last nights good sleep.

omg mitch - can't imagine 12 hrs with no feeds - ouch!!!! :nope: thats one of the things I was meant to ask u last night - when you feed the expressed stuff don't you have to express more too?! i get very confused with the whole expressing malarkey... wonder how your DH will be today!!!! tired much???! xx

I have relief...just got 150ml from one boob in 15 minutes ha ha. She fed off the other so givibg that a rest.

Waula...i am an expressing novice and obviously have to guess how much M needs...i am basing it on the estimated volumes needed for formula fed babies and poppibg in.an extra 20mls or so. So about 120ml...4.5oz in a single feed...last night she took about 110 ish hubby said. I should have expressed middle of the.night or before i went to bed ...but defeats the object of getting a good sleep...but wont let it go so long next time. I am goibg to.get some milk bags for freezing so i always have a pre-prepared supply rather than doing last minute and running out of time etc etc.

The expressed milk today will sort her out whilst i am in the hairdressers just in case hubby needs....oooh hairdressers...i get to show her off to.more people today.

Lozza.....go Z and his projectile poop.....M had terrible trumps this morning.

Skadi...hope you get some sleep soon x x
