~Mark of Love~ c-section mom/mum support group

Thankyou for the welcome Heidi

So, can I ask, whats the smallest age gap between children on this thread so far?

I ask, because my 3 children all have fairly big gaps, so big gaps between all sections

I am now considering having one more LO...But dont want a big gap, age is now not on my side :nope::blush:

Love to hear more from others

I think possibly you&me has the smallest gap??

I think possibly you&me has the smallest gap??

...yep, that would be me I think!!

By the time they deliver this beanie, I will have 12.5 months between Amber and this one.

My main concern was how soon it was after my section, so I saw my family GP and mentioned my fears, she really put me at ease and said she has no concerns at all about it, they will monitor me closely and ensure my 3rd section is carried out before there is any chance of me labouring naturally.

Glad they have put you at ease, have you had any MS?

I am actually freaking out at my lack of Morning sickness :dohh:

With both of my girl's, I was sick from 4 weeks til delivery, morning, noon and night...

...This time, (I know it is still early days) other than the numerous positive tests and a tiny bit of tiredness I wouldn't even know I was pregnant!!!

Maybe your body hasn't fully adjusted back since having Amber? I'm sure Beanie is growing nicely :hugs:
I'm always thinking about how i will cope with a toddler and being pregnant again as my MS was terrible at the beginning.

:hugs:

I did wonder if it is because it hasn't completely returned to normal..whatever normal is?!! :haha: I just don't feel pregnant, I even pee'd on another stick yesterday to make sure!!

I remember being sick one day when pregnant with Amber...Reagan wandered into the bathroom, stood there rubbing my back and said to me 'mummy, I do love you, even when you are being sick...but can you please try not to sick up my baby?'

:hi:

i'm bexx and i had a category 1 section last october.

Children/s name/s & birthdate/s:Frank 16/10/10
EDD: 28/10/10
Number of elective Caesareans: 0
Number of emergency Caesareans: 1
Number of vaginal births: 0

i went into labour on friday 15th first contraction was about 9pm and they kept happening though irregular and not too painfull through the night, i used my tens on low setting and was just planning on staying home, however baby was freakishly active and i was worried about that, so i rang my mum to take me to hospital, we got there at 6am saturday and the midwife said it would be best to go home until i needed pain relief, i requested an internal (she wasn't going to give me one?!?!) reluctantly she did and in shock announced i was 9cms, but she couldnt feel anything, so i had to go round to central delivery for an emergency scan and it showed baby was transverse and cos my waters were close to breaking they didnt want the cord to snap, so i was straight round for a section and he was out at 7.05am!
it took them 5 failed attempts at epidural, had it failed again i would have had to have a general.

i'm still really traumatised over it all. i wanted a water birth without pain relief!

as for having another, i'm single so thats not happening anytime soon :haha: but when it does i so so so want a vaginal birth and i often find myself worrying about the possibility of another c section, ebven though im not even ttc :dohh:

but anyway, :hi:

awwwww bless her little cotton socks:haha: thats so cute!
You never know give it another week or two and the sickness might creep up on you! Or you might be lucky this time and not get it at all!

Hi bexx  thanks for sharing your story. Might be a dumb question but what is a category 1 section? I didnt know there were different category's?

oh i thought it was common to relate to category i have no idea why!? :dohh:

category is, well i suppose easiest way to describe is how much of an emergency it was.
they set time limits for baby to be out, with category 1 baby has to be out within 30 mins, i am not sure about the others, i think there are 4 categories 4 being elective.
but  dont take my word for it! :D

Interesting, I never knew there were categories either- I'll have to ask what I was at my next appointment! So for those of you who have had both an emergency and an elective section.... did you find any difference in recovery time? I would totally go for an elective on this one if I wasn't so nervous about the recovery with a baby and a two year old. I have heard that you recover faster with an elective (I'm not really sure why), anyhow, any opinions?

Hiya Bexx

I think they classed Reagan as a cat 1 section as my placenta was failing rapidly due to the PET, as soon as they scanned and made the decision she couldn't stay in there any longer; I was in theatre 20 minutes later.

TTCNumber2: I healed so much better from my semi elective section with Amber, physically and emotionally....I think because you know what to expect it doesn't come as quite a shock to the system...the whole experience was much more calm as there wasn't such a huge urgency to get her out so quickly...I was driving 2 weeks after (automatic).

did everyone else not get a print out about delivery?
i got a sheet that said reasons for section, the category, how long labour was noted to be, how long it took to get baby out, how long it took to delivery placenta etc and babys weight and stuff.

how long does it take to get feeling back where the scar is? or is that just me?
i find it very weird, like if i am fastening jeans up and they are right on that bit of tummy i cant feel it.

I never got feeling back even after 5 years with my section for Reagan, and now after 2 sections my tummy is even worse...it is shot to pieces!

Hello all:wave: excuse any typos im nursing at keyboard lol

A little about me and my sections :)

Children/s name/s & birthdate/s: L - 12/07/04, K - 31/08/2005, W - 25/11/2010
EDD: L - 11/07/2004, K - 11/09/2005, W - 30/11/2010
Number of elective Caesareans: 2
Number of emergency Caesareans: 1
Number of vaginal births: 0

With L I went into labour about 3am but slept through till about 8:30am at half 9 i couldn't handle the pain anymore so decided to call the hospital and go in, i was only 2cm, her heart rate kept dropping so i had to be monitored and wasnt allowed anything but gas and air i remember the last time they checked me 3:30pm i was 7cm and her heart rate dropped really low and i was rushed into the op room, mask held on my face and i was out cold, it took them an hour afterwards to wake me up and i had to ask if we had a baby, i was completely out of it, it was horrible to the point i said i didnt want any more children, then i fell pregnant with K, i wanted a section all the way as i was so scared if labour, the elective section was brilliant, they made me feel very safe and talked me through the whole thing,
With W i went into labour the day before my section, didnt progress though and had my 3rd section, the whole thing can be read here -

had no problems healing, scar is fine, i even want another baby in the next 2 years

Hello to all the new mums!

Just read that these are the categories:

1. Emergency: immediate threat to the life of mother or fetus.

2. Danger: maternal or fetal compromise, but not immediate life threatening.

3. No danger: early delivery needed, but no maternal or fetal compromise.

4. Elective: delivery timed to suit the mother and the staff.

I must've been a category 2. I went down at around half an hour after they decided to do one.
