May mummies 2009 - a place to keep in touch

I'm so not looking forward to the jabs :( Dexter's got his next Wednesday, and I'm considering getting my Mum to take him in so he doesn't hate me

I got OH to hold Jake when he got his. I was to shaken to do it lol I even cry when my dog gets her jabs, i'm a softie :)

I took Sapphire out in the Tomy sling yesterday and she loved it....slept all the way!! And thanks AG...I think I will be able to breastfeed in it as you suggested. However, I'm still contemplating getting the Moby as well :)
It will be more comfy for round the house when she won't settle as it's soft, unlike the Tomy one.....well that's my excuse anyway.
I just invested in a mothercare swaddle blanket....it's brilliant. I'm really getting the hang of the swaddle thing now and Sapphire definitely sleeps better swaddled. The baby swing helps too. I'm actually getting a few hours a day to get things done now....yayyy!!

Aww my little baby is 8weeks old today cant believe it!

He has his jabs on thursday and im not looking forward to sitting in a gps office waiting about while all these bugs are in the air. Wonder if they do home visits lol

Classyburd, I know what you mean about the germs. I feel the same. Hey...how about we take them in to the doctor's with a face mask? Haha..they would either think we're neurotic parents or that they are Michael Jackson's kids!! :laugh2:

hahaha i might go book and and then wait in the car and ask them to come out and get me hahaha

Patrick had his jabs this week. He howled the place down and needed lots and lots of cuddles afters. News to me but out here they vaccinate for chicken pox. Have to decide whether hes to have it or not. I had it when I was a kid and it was pretty horrible but not exactly life threatening. I will have to do some research.

He weighed in at 13lb 3oz (he was 9lb 1oz at birth) but hes growing length ways rather than width-ways. Hes gone from the 75th centile to the 98th centile for height!!!

We live in Bangkok and about 60% of the people at the baby centre were wearing masks as do loads of people out and about. And they have hand sanitizing hand gel at the entrances to loads of public places - like the cinema and the shopping malls. I think after the avian flu scare, they are really geared up for flu type things. I find it all so so scary though. Can't bear the thought of Patrick getting it when he is so little and vulnerable.

That's weird that they vaccinate against chicken pox in Thailand. I wonder why? like you say, it's not a life threatener!

Sapphire was 10lb 6oz today. She's gained 10 ounces in a week :o

I think we have teething signs!
Hes drooling loads, chewing his hand alot and was only taking half feeds this morning and early afternoon. He would take half the bottle then start fussing and crying.
His bedtime one i just about managed to give him the full bottle with a little fussing around.

Definately sounds like teething signs AG, Theo is the same and it was confirmed he is teething.

Me and my lil guy are poorly :nope:
We both have nasty colds and temps, horrible seeing a baby poorly, but despite being poorly he still smiling loads, bless him :cloud9:

Hello May mummies, how are we all getting on?

My lil Jakey pie has been poorly... . . . AGAIN!! Ear infection this time :dohh: I keep wondering if i'm doing something wrong coz he's had colic, reflux, ear infection and cryptosparideosis! He seems to get over one thing then comes down with another. It really is a hard life being a baby  xx

Awww poor Jakey, hope he gets better soon hun. Whats the last one, i will have to look that up!

Im fine, Archies doing well. He as his first lot of jabs on thurs though so am not looking forward to that. Nasty dr!

zach was supposed to have his jabs today but didn't. they have been rebooked for next week. I have a history of allergies to vaccinations and although i spoke to HV who okayed it with a specialist, the nurse at the docs wanted to speak to a peadiatrician herself before she gives them to zach.
i understand her concerns its just slightly annoying when i know they have already okayed it.

Aww, hope jake feels better soon snetty xox

Theo is recovering well from a very nasty cold, we were worried just in case it was swine flu as he had fever, runny nose and a cough...but the fever disappeared the next day, so couldn't of been. So far this summer holiday 3 out of the 6 of us have had nasty colds...3 left to go. Lol. Hope it misses OH though, as when men are ill they are dying, and they have to lay in bed and play comp games all day :growlmad:

Anyone else feel that their LO is still so tiny? Last time I had Theo weighed he was only 11lb 13oz, that was at 12 weeks...

xx

we are all suffering from bad colds here too :(

Alex was 9lb 8ozs at 12 weeks
He is on the smaller side but he looks big to me!

Alice seems so huge to me, she was 12lb 6 oz a weeks ago so at the rate she's growing I would estimate close to 13lb now. My mom calls her the baby moose!

Are any May babies rolling over yet? Alice is trying to already, isn't a bit soon? It feels like my little baby's growing up so fast

Jake is feeling loads better today thanx :)

Emsy and bethy, i hope your family colds clear up soon :hugs:

Amelia- Jake keeps turning to his left and almost getting on his side, so maybe its not too early for them to be trying :) I looked at him today and realised he's not a teeny baby no more and he's growing up so fast!

Classy- the crypto that he had is a parasite that lives in stagnent water. He was in hospital for days coz of it but they discharged us before we knew what it was. Environmental health knocked on the door investigating our kitchen etc and thats when we were told what it was. They said it was nothing we did wrong and its easily passed on if people have it and don't wash their hands and touch a baby's hands etc. I beat myself up about it for ages and i now carry hand sanitizer in my changing bag so if anyone wants to touch my Jakey, they sanatize first lol

Second lot of jabs next week.........bummer!!! xx

WOW, thats what he was in hospital for then when they just thought viral. Blimey, scarey thoughts, am gonna be even more regimental with my hand washing etc now!!

Glad he feeling better
