Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

Aww bless, I'm so glad Sam is happier :happydance:

Dylan and Bethany are great, Dylans behaviour is a million times better, when he is in a good mood he is pretty much back to how he was before the twatheads started kicking off last year and he doesn't kick off anywhere near as much, he is still testing us though, but he is learning that we won't budge on what we say anymore :) Bethany is being a dream baby, never really cries, sleeps well, eats like a pig :haha:

Ouchies Brandi, that sounds soooooo sore!!!

Talked to my mum earlier and it looks like me, OH and the kids are going to hers on thursday or friday for a few days, we need a break away from this hellhole before OH goes back to work, I can't wait!!!

Were going to need a picture update soon. :D:D
Glad all is going well though, and well done Dylan! xx

Bethany showing her displeasure at the dummy. She hates the thing :haha:

Aww, Sam love one type of dummy we bought, the rest have been rejected. :D:D xx

Awwwww!!! That is such a gorgeous piccy!

I'm kind of glad Bethany is rejecting the dummy, Dylan was a dummy monster and although I always said I would wean him off it by 12 months I didn't have the heart as he loved it so much and he kept it til he was nearly 2.

Done some housework today, just a little bit and I feel so much better for it, I'm watching Holby City now then will carry on after Dylan goes to bed.

Little lady has hiccups, so cute :cloud9:

Hi ladies-
I have just a few minutes before the next feeding, I feel like that's pretty much all I do these days! We're starting to get the hang of things though.
How is breastfeeding going for those of you who are? Mine hurt a lot of the time. I have a nipple shield which helps somewhat.
For those of you who've been through it before- does it get better?

I'm still struggling to stand up properly and walk, my bum feels so bruised. :( I'm very stiff and achy too, how long did it take to pass for you wiggler?

Hi soph, not BF here but hope all is ok. :hugs: xx

Soph - BF is going well here, Bethany wouldn't latch well to begin with and my nipples got raw, cracked and bled, but I fixed that and its much better now. Is Travis latching correctly hun?

24/7 - The horrible bum feeling faded after 4-5 days, the run down, tired, achey feeling is only just fading now, I always feel super shattered after going out for a walk, but I'm hoping that will go away once I start getting out more and my body gets used to being more active. I hope you start feeling better soon hun :hugs:

Day three tomorrow so hopefully getting there then. For the first time earlier I had a hint of sensation as normal for needing a wee, but mostly its just stomach pain that tell me I need to go. My milk seems to be on its way too now, so I think tomorrow is going to be extra hard recovery wise. :( xx

Our lovely babies are so worth the pain and discomfort though.

Got Bethany on her playmat for tummytime at the moment, she loves it :)

Anberlin is getting enough milk, but I honestly think her latch is still improper. My nipples have been cracked since day 3 and it hurts every time she latches on. It does get better as the feed goes on, but I dread that initial latch. It's almost enough for me to want to move to exclusively expressing...and then there's the clogged duct issue. Ugh!

I loved breastfeeding with my son, but I hate it this time around. I'm hoping it gets better.

Totally missed Eurovision this year so watching now instead. Should get some good laughs from this :haha:

got Leo a cute little chair to sit in for the new house today  Hes been grumpy again tonight  Last night he slept about 10-3 and woke for a feed then woke at 7 for another. He slept in our bed 3-7pm because he wouldnt settle in his moses basket but I dont mind having my boy in with me. Also had another bath with him tonight and he loves it  he goes crazy when its time to get out though, hed stay in the tub all day if he could :haha:

Brandi:hugs:That sounds sooo painful, have you managed to get it to move yet? Keep an eye out for signs of masitis hun though I'm sure you are already. All I can suggest is more hand massage and slightly rougher hand expressing after warm compress.

Soph, it totally does get easier:hugs:

With Eilidh I've been very lucky bfing wise, she latches perfectly and I've had no pain or discomfort. Those with alot of nipple pain watch for thrush, espif nipples are cracked, this can give alot of pain esp during the latch.

24/7, Sam is so cute, glad you got his winding sorted!

Wiggler, lol at eurovision:haha: Bethany is adorable:cloud9: Have fun away from your awful neighbours!

Inge, yay for Leo sleeping so well:happydance:

Not much going on here, going to watch a movie with the kids soon and have lots of chocolate:haha:

I don't think Bethany likes the Eurovision, she is very unsettled this evening poor little thing.

Mummy- Ok- what's this thrush thing? My Dr said to watch their mouths for it- and suddenly in the last couple days my nipples feel like someone is cutting them OFF when the girls BF- I thought it was because they are suddenly BF almost all their feeds...

Look at their tongues and cheeks, yady. If it looks like they have white cottage cheese-like spots on the inside of their cheeks and their tongues, they likely have it, and so do you.

Finally got the whole clog out. I've never felt so relieved to be so relieved! Oh, and Miss Anberlin is back to birthweight. She's an ounce over, in fact. She's 8lbs 2oz!!

As Brandi said look at the inside of babies mouth for white spots BUT you can have it without the baby having signs. An agonising latch that gets less painful as the feed goes on is the main sign. A dose of nystatin to you and baby will clear it up very quickly. Hope you're ok hun? Thats awesome you're feeding the girls at the breast mainly now

Brandi:happydance: for reaching over birthweight! I bet getting that clog out felt AWESOME!!

Eilidh is cluster feeding this afternoon, on then off then on then grin

I think Travis is latching on pretty well- lips are flared out, taking in the nipple pretty deep, but I'm still feeling pain. I know he's totally worth it, but ech it's so hard to deal with it 8 times a day and then pumping 5 or more times a day too. I'm hoping my boobs will get used to the abuse eventually:haha:

Another question- How important is it that he eats every 2- 2 1/2 hours? Everything I've read and everyone I've talked to said he should be eating that often during the day, but he is always sleeping and we're feeding more like every 3 - 3 1/2 hours. Sometimes not reaching 8 feedings a day but only 7. He is gaining weight though. He's already several ounces above his birth weight. As long as he's gaining it's all good, right?

As long as he's gaining well you're fine:thumbup:

They shouldn't go more than 6 hours at this age, but an average of around 3-4 hours is normal, occasionally 5 hours ish at night and often the odd 30mins between feeds lol:haha: He will let you know if he's hungry hun, you're doing great:hugs:
