Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

Any suggestions on one very painful boob girls? :( xx

What kind of painful? Boob or nipple? Is it full have you tried expressing or putting Sam on?

I think I left housework too late  little man is stirring might run around quickly before he demands boob lolol

Bottom part, not nipple.... Have tried expressing but it hasn't helped. :( xx

Can you feel any lumps? I know nothing about boobs hun, I rely on these ladies sorry :hugs: If there is any lumps try massaging the lump towards the nipple under warm water (in shower ideally).

Yes, seems to be a small lump there.... Will give massaging it a go. xx

Milos - :hugs: I hope you end up on the best medication for you soon. Must be awful feeling like that. My hubby suffers from depression and is going through a bit of a bad time of it at the moment and he just doesn't know why - he started getting low about a week before Megan was born and can't seem to shake it. :hugs:

My appetite is less than I thought it'd be too.
I've still not cleared my 'backlog' (pardon the pun ) but I feel I'm getting there. The doctor prescribed Movicol which you mix with water and drink. It's not exactly pleasant - bit like slightly dilute seawater. I'm taking the maximum dose of that and also using little Micralax enemas so I'm attacking both ends. Trying to do plenty of pelvic floor exercises, drink loads of water and eat loads of fibre - all-bran and prunes are my staple diet at the moment!
I think that all the pushing during labour has meant my body has gone too slack to poop. My mum said it took her 10 days!

Megan has been lying here filling her nappy so I'd better change it in a bit - I've learnt to give it a few minutes as she keeps 'topping up'. :dohh: Wish I had even a fraction of her pooping power! :haha:

I've only been 'topping and tailing' her so far as her belly button has been slightly oozy but it's looking better today so we gave her her 1st bath this morning. She LOVED it! Daddy held her in the bath with him while I wiped over her with a flannel. She had a good kick around and only cried for the brief moment when I moved her from bath to towel. Has some nice skin to skin to keep her warm and allow some air to her bum. :cloud9:

BFing question - as advised by the MW when I left hosptial, I've been swapping boobs each feed, unless she only has a short break in between. Is this correct? She seems to be producing loads of wet nappies and plenty of wet mustard poops. She usually feeds avery 3 hours but sometimes it's half that. She feeds for about 10-15 minutes at a time but sometimes it's a bit less and sometimes a bit more. I sometimes worry that I'm bumbling along without a clue!
We've got an appointment with the MW tomorrow and I hope she's put the lost weight back on. She lost just under 10% by day 5 but the MW was happy with her.

new/wiggler- yeah hes on formula. I've tried the water, the massage and bicycling the legs but nothing seems to definately help. Guess it's just ride it out! Because he hasn't pooped i wonder if hes a bit blocked up because hes not normally this windy. If he hasnt pooed in the next day or two or he seems worse i'll take him to the doctors.

span- no help on the bf but i know what you mean about feeling like you're bumbling along!

The lump could be why its hurts hun, thats a blocked milk duct, massage it towards the nipple and it should ease it off and unblock the duct. Hope it fixes the pain :hugs:

I hope you able to go to the toilet soon span! something is bound to start work eventually! My MW told me feed George whenever he wants it, so we all bumbling along together sometimes he goes 3 hours, sometimes he goes 20 minutes! Apparently he will develop his own routine eventually lol You do need to switch boobs, I found it easier to do a complete feed off one side, next feed use the other, but now he feeds 20-30 minutes from each side each feed, as megans demand increases she'll stay on longer and may even want both sides xx

Meow hope Josh manages to go soon hun! Be mindful its a bank holiday weekend so they'll be no drs until Tuesday!

Bethany still only takes one boob for a feed most of the time, but she is slowly starting to take the other one more often, she normally takes a 5-10 min break between boobs though, bless her.

Dylan slept well despite his 2 mega long naps yesterday, and he hasn't napped today yet either, I just put Top Gear on for him as he has been really good. He was the official food tester when I was making lunch :haha: I think I might go snuggle up to him in a min, he is starting to look sleepy which means he will give lots of lovely snuggles :cloud9:

Hope your poo decided to vacate soon span, makes me so glad I had to face the horror of first poo just 24 hours after Sam arrived. :hugs: I didn't tear but the muscles still felt really slack at the first few poos I wasn't able to push at all, and only the last few days have I had control over escaping wind. xx

Ooh I've just passed rather an impressive 'effort'! :happydance:

(sorry I just had to share :winkwink: )

Looking good 24!
I didn't take my one week pp bump pic on wednesday - I'e been too obsessed with pooing plus I've been really bloated anyway.

Must get on with a parenting journal as I've put it off for too long. I wasn't sure whether to bother but it'll actually be lovely to have something to read back in the future. :cloud9:

The baby book I ordered came today - it's Eric Carle's Very Special Baby Book (based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar). Must get that started too. :flower:

Congratulations!! :D

Ooooh, have a journal - It will be good to look back on!! xx

24/7- put a warm wash cloth on it then give it a good massage. I had a plugged duct this morning and was able to get it out by switching positions each feed on that breast (between cradle and football hold).

Span- I just do one breast per feed. I have an overactive let down though, so feeding from just one breast per feed helps prevents issues. As long as your little one is getting enough wet diapers you're fine in whatever way you want to do it.

How long should I expect to need pain medication? I'm still in horrible pain but part of me thinks its because I've been overdoing it a bit.

Well done Span lol

Looking good 24!! I still got the wobbly baby fat stuff lol but did reach 2stone weightloss today so a bit (lot) of toning should get it sorted lol

Joshua is really trying my patience again today. He wanted a sticker book from Smiths, £7 so I said ok fine but now you're getting spends you can buy it yourself Im not buying it, but just remember you have been saving for lego star wars and can afford it with this weeks money if you buy this you got no chance and Im not paying for your lego either. So we had huge tantrum and now we are home he is sat in the back garden so he doesnt have to speak or listen to me! Doesnt help that I told him he keeps tantruming on me and showing me no respect then he isnt going to karate because thats all about respect and he clearly has none... oops hit a nerve lol oh oh oh I can hear the back door, not sure if he is coming back in or just messing on the step lol Its not very warm today he going to get cold awfully quick lol

Eeek, hope the mood passes ASAP new. :hugs:

Well Sam still seems to have an upset stomach, just went to change yet another poo and he poo'd again while the nappy was off and it flew accross the room and hit the wall. :( xx

Wow some poop! Is he feeding less or uncomfortable? As their poops are so watery anyways its hard to say if its normal or not :hugs:

I just asked him to pass me the house phone so I could ring his karate instructor to say he wont be going and he just threw the phone at me grrr... thing is he HAS to go tonight because he has been chosen to be part of a demo team putting on a show in a few weeks and its training for that tonight, dont turn up and he is out of the group (which I dont want as he has trained so hard already for it). I also dont want to back down from a punishment, I kinda expected him to grovel and apologise  Ive never been in the situation before where he has me in a corner, normally I say blah blah or no karate (or wii or DS etc) and he does the job and there is no issues lol

Lucky - I guess it takes different women different lengths of time to recover, and over doing it wont help. Take the pain relief as and when you need it, you'll find yourself missing doses as you get better and 'forget' to take it because you dont feel the pains. Hope you feeling better quickly :hugs:

Its now a thick water with seeds and yellow, not green water like yesterday so it seems to have improved, and it doesn't run straight out after a feed - The Doctor is calling us back in a little while, as she mentioned yesterday some rehydration drink if he was still poorly today.

I didn't take any pain meds the first couple of days and then crashed and started and it made a big difference - And then since I have just taken the odd dose on a day where I feel abit rough. :hugs:

Oh new, seems lie Joshua really is pushing things today!! xx

24/7 - you look fab!! Eek, projectile poo, Bethnay does them, Dylan did it too, nearly hit me a few times with it too

Lucky - I took ibuprofen for nearly 2 weeks PP as I was so sore and tender :hugs:

new - Eek, I hope Joshua gets back to his usual happy self soon :hugs:

ETA - forgot to add, 24/7 you can normally tell if bubs is dehydrated by their soft spots, if its sunken in then they are dehydrated. The runniness might just be his normal brastmilk poos :hugs:

I dislike projecticle poo alot!! xx
