Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

Anyone on here go on MyFitnessPal? Also anyone do the cordblood?

hello ladies!

Its 1am here and I just got home from having spent all afternoon/night in hospital. My apins got really bad and I spoke to my GP for advise, who insisted i see a doctor here, doctor had me in an ambulance and was in hospital having loads of tests. Blood results showed problems with my clotting, and a chest x ray showed a pocket on my lung, which the doctor thinks is from a very recent infection I didnt realise I had, he doesnt think it is a blood clot. They dont believe the pain to be gastric, although said my GP can arrange for scans etc to rule it out, they think its muscular or skeletal. I had some blood gas test thing and my oxygen in my blood is very low, so I need to really look after myself more, and Ive been told i seriously need to up my calories for breast feeding. They wanted to give me morphine (I was in a serious amount of pain and struggling to breathe) but I wouldnt have been able to breast feed so kept refusing it. they gave me gas and air to try and get on top of the pain and then reassess, feeding george on G&A was not easy! They were going to keep me in, and give me a side room so I could keep george with me, but i ran more risk of infection by being kept in, they have controlled the pain and given me some pain relief safe to take and at midnight a team of doctors decided I could come home so long as I see my GP as soon as I get back to Wales and have all the tests repeated to monitor the oxygen and this pocket on my lung. In the mean time Im also going to cut out all fats from my diet incase it is gastric (mummy if it is gallstones the dr said it'll be because Im not having anywhere near enough calories - I always associated it with high fat diets, but any kind of 'poor diet' can cause it, and my diet is far too low in calories).

Oh george saw the doctor and they are not overly concerned about his yellow sick, and told me to keep an eye on him, if it gets worse or green then see a doctor, although yellow sick could be the start of an infection so I will keep a close eye on him too.

Its been one heck of a day. Im going to go up to bed now, feed george and hopefully he will then sleep in until about 4-5am before wanting another feed so i get a couple of hours at least. Im going to attempt to drive home tomorrow, assuming Im well enough so need to get some sleep lol

Hope everyone is well, I did briefly read but will catch up properly tomorrow xxxx

Oh new:hugs: Sounds like a nightmare, is it pneumonia on the lung? Yeah gallstones you can get if you're underweight or not eating enough and are the most painful thing in the world, much worse than childbirth:hugs: How many calories do you eat hun? Must be so scary. Hope little George and Joshua let you get some rest!

I did the unthinkable today and weighed myself. I'm only 7.5lbs shy of my pre-pregnancy weight! :happydance:

I haven't done anything but push out a child and breastfeed but I'll take it! My target weight is 110lbs.

I'm 5 feet right on. I'd like to be 110lbs and flatten my stomach, but I won't go to extremes to get there. I'm happy with myself, for the most part. Even if I stayed this weight and dropped the love handles and the up front blubber, I'd be happy.

Weird in all your pics I could've sworn you were a lot taller, like 5 foot 8 or taller:wacko: I'd love to wake up all toned lol, yeah no extremes here, no real time to workout and need lots of food to have the energy for so many kids:haha:

Nope. I'm very short. so is my husband. My mom is tall, and so are my younger brothers, but I got the shallow end of the DNA pool.

I always wanted to be shorter!

Eilidh is being a grouch right now, drinking then puking then crying then farting:dohh::haha:

Thanks ladies, I dont know how much, if any, pain relief passed over to George but he slept through to 6am, had a very small feed and is asleep again, but meant I got a good block of sleep :)

mummy I eat 1000-1300 calories a day, been known to be less too, that includes my increase lol so wasnt eating much before BFing.

Brandi I didnt realise you were short from your photos either. Id be happy with my weight if the baby flabby tummy was toned lol Thats going to take some work lol

OMG new, what a day! I hope you and George feel better soon :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Brandi - Brilliant weight loss, I'm super jealous

mummy - I always wanted to be shorter too, I'm taller than OH and I hate it :haha:

It;s 3:45am and apparently all good things must come to an end. Miss Anberlin has been awake since 1:00am. Her reflux is really acting up tonight. She's refluxing every few minutes, really struggling to keep things down and it's making it worse when she screams. I feel so bad for the poor girl.

Needless to say, I'm sleeping in in the morning.

mummy- I use my fitness pal. I like it, it's really good. They tested my anaemia levels apparently. I'm still anaemic but the levels are going up. I've got to go back when i've finished my iron tablets and they'll take more blood again.

new- That sounds awful! Hope you feel better soon x

I give Josh his bottle when hes crying in the evening. He'll feed for a really short time and then he doesn't want it. Then he fusses on and off it, not knowing what he wants! He does have a dummy but doesn't want that either! Tried cuddles, that doesn't work. At the minute we are waiting until about 10-11pm and then taking him out in the car and then he falls asleep. I'm wondering whether he's over tired?

He usually sleeps in his moses basket throughout the day and evening and then we take it upstairs at about 10-11pm when we go to bed. Do you think he maybe needs to go upstairs earlier? He usually start getting ratty at about 8pm. I thought 4 week olds just slpet whenever and didn't really have a bedtime. I thought that happened when they got older. As you can tell i have no clue :haha:

It's going to be so hot here today! It's been 21 degrees in our house overnight, we've all been sweating. It's too hot for all in ones so Josh is going to wear his first outfit today :)

Aww, poor Anberlin, I hope she gets a good sleep soon and I hope you can catch up on some sleep too Brandi :hugs:

Meow - Its boiling hot too, Bethany is wearing just a vest :haha:

Bethany is going to have a rough bedtime from tonight, she will be going to bed in my room at about 8pm, same time as Dylan goes to bed so the evenings will finally be adult time again. I hope she doesn't get scared if she wakes up and I'm not there :(

4 weeks is a good age to get them to have a bed time will make things better for you in the long run. if you can get them in a routine, used to going up at night and drifting off to sleep themselves you are saving yourself an horrendous battle in the months to come. George is showing definiate signs he is ready to go up and have a bedtime, so will be starting it as soon as we get home, and he wont be 4 weeks even!! Meow babies are known to have a crying time typically between 6-10pm, it could be just that hun.

Hope Anberlin is feeling better and settles for you hun. enjoy your sleep in.

After I last posted George was asleep on me having just fed, so i took him up to his bed and was hoping for an hours nap myselfbefore i drove home, and he slept till 10am so we had 3 hours!!! yay! Although he only taken another tiny feed before drifting back to sleep, think the stuff they injected me with is getting over to him :( they said it was safe but I wonder if its making him drowsy.

Been a bit crap posting on here recently - felt quite busy with visitors and registering Megan. Hope everyones ok. Still no baby for Wild?!

Hope you're on the mend New - sounds like you had a rough old time. Hope George perks up for you too. :hugs:

HV came for the 1st time today. She was actually really nice. Megan now weighs 8lb15oz and her height has gone from 50cm at birth to 54.5cm. HV said she's quite tall. From what she said and looking in her book she's a bit over the 75 centiles for both weight and height. I'm really pleased. :cloud9:

She's been feeding LOADS during the day - sometimes every 30-45 minutes but has been really good at night and only been waking every 3 hours for a fairly quick feed. She's still being great in her moses basket at night, even though she doesn't really like it in the day. Glad that, for now, it's that way round!
