Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

He gained 240g this week (8ozs Im told lol) he is now 9lb 5oz I think. HV STILL not happy though so is coming back next week, but he is feeding well, gaining well, Im happy!

new- We keep him downstairs with us in the evening and then take him up usually after 9:30pm as that's when he seems to properly settle for the night. I usually go up then anyway as i'm knackered! Each week that passes he seems to settle more into his own little routine.

Oh totally envious lol George will settle for a good chunk of hours from 7/8pm where ever I put him down, but if I tried to move him after he has fallen asleep thats him awake no matter what! Then I end up with him having a very clingy night lol

i want Sam to have Josh's routine meow. :p xx

Aww wild he sounds perfect, looking forward to seeing you more:hugs:

Brandi, hope you get that laptop soon! Anberlin is doing so well! Hows it going with the fil?

New, oops lol, lovely that you got a lie in tho. I used to love watching JK, I guess there's Maury here and always got Jerry Springer:haha:

Meow, yay for sleeping!

Eilidh slept solidly last night from 9pm to 5am:happydance: She seems to be settling from around 9pm regularly now and usually goes to at least 3am so we all feeling a bit more human, except poor hubby who's up to stupid times doing his freelance. The poor man living on energy drinks atm:dohh: His project should be done by the weekend though so lots of relaxing time me thinks before the next one starts.

birth story

woke up on 6th June, feeling fed up, tired and hormonal, apprehensive knowing i could be induced on the 7th if i accepted it, but had already said i wanted to wait a few more days as to not miss my homebirth.

quick coffee, kids dressed for school hanging around waiting for my friend to pick them up at 8.10am, opened the back door to let the cat out at 8.08am, doubled over in pain , ouchie i thought, this is it. turned to the kids, "there will be a baby today, i cant promise before you come home from school but your brother is on his way," there was not a doubt in my mind that this was it. kissed them goodbye.

8.25am, phoned my bf who lives 5 doors down, it was her day off , asked her to come and sit with me as i knew things were starting, pains were every 5-20 minutes, totally irregular, and all over the shot, 1 in 3 pains hurt more, i was in early stages but went a whole day like this with sienna before active labour began. phoned the midwife who arrived at 8.50 to access how i was doing, things calmed down at this stage and i only had one really painfull contraction while she was here, she recorded it as latent labour said she'd deffo see me later that day and left after a quick coffee.

spent the next few hours bouncing pacing and had a bath, put some cool pj's on as was boiling by lunchtime, managed some toast, and generally just plodded about. 3.00 came ( the kids were just finishing school and due home in 20 mins) went to loo and lost lots of blood, also had a huge clear out. kids got home, spent some time with them, and started to be sick . called midwife at 4.00 as she finished her shift at 4.30, and she said she was popping over to see me in 10-15 mins. the first contractions hit, legs shaking, back agony, and me howling on the kitchen door frame, tears streaming down my face, sent my bf out to wait for the mw and said i needed her pronto, they were 2 mins apart for the next 10 mins or so, she arrived and my bf rushed her in, by which time id straddled the arm of my sofa and my back was pure evil agony. she stripped me off from the waist down, and said she was checking me next contraction, i managed to yelp out "i'll be 8cms im always 8cm when i get checked."- in she went lol, yup 8cm.
gas and air was brought out the cuboard, 2nd mw on the way, my mw rubbing my back with great force as hed turned back to back, tried on the ball but was awful. so got on the sofa, she tried to find his hb but culdnt cos of my position, so kept saying next break in contractions she would check again but id have to shift flat onto back, they were coming on top of each other though and as soon as one ended another started, at this point she had still not found the hb, and came over got hold of my hand and said " philippa theres something i need to tell you" i instantly froze and thought omg theres something wrong with him... turned out the key to open the gas and air was missing from my delivery pack, and second mw didnt have one with her, i cried

sent my bf round the neghbours for toolkits to see if there was anything to help , nobody had anything suitable. i was doomed. god it was painful, i didnt know wether to scream for the back pain or up front first. mw joked around and said she had to leave by 5 as had weight watchers weigh in, so i was to make sure he arrived by 5. yer rite! she wasnt going ne where, she was my rock, and i wasnt letting go of her hand lol. bf phoned my mum and dh to get here asap. dh arrived, just in time for pushing, tiime he took his shoes off and washed his hands, i screamed to the world that i had to push, push 1, waters went ( all over 2 mw's and up my wall narrowly missing my tv on the wall lol.) push 2 head delivered (almost the rest of him followed- but i was made to stop and pant ) the cord was extremely short and they couldnt tell if it was wrapped round his neck , i then couldnt wait anylonger and delivered the rest of him. we then had problems with the placenta, it took 17 minutes to deliver, and lots of tugging, it was really painful too. my labour was 1 hour 2 minutes (including the delivery of placenta) so taking that off 44 minutes! im kind of glad he was back to back or it'd have been alot quicker and mw would not have got here in time. he screamed the place down for 15 minutes, and hasnt really cried since :haha:

xxx
