Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

Too cheesy? Are you mad, there is no such thing as too cheesy!! :haha:

I learnt the delights of turkey bacon earlier today. OMG its soooooo good!! I heard of turkey sausages a while back, I have no idea where to buy them though :(

Any idea's on what I can do with the smoked cheese? Maybe grated up on a homemade pizza?

I wouldn't know where to start with smoked cheese! you'll have to experiment:winkwink:

I'll have melted cheese on things like burgers/toasties/pizza but dont like them too cheesy. Cant stand un melted cheese:haha:

Ladies, I just went on Ebay and I noticed in my most recent searches some bits OH was looking at, but 2 of the searches were rings, one titled mens wedding bands (a general search) and another a specific mens wedding ring. My heart is in my throat. OH and I dont have a typical relationship, and I know I said we'd never marry etc, but I thought we were solid as a rock and totally open. I dont understand why he is looking at wedding bands??? I have NEVER felt jealous or threatened or insecure with him ever but for the first time I feel really odd. I mean he wouldnt leave such a sloppy trail on my laptop if he was hiding something or someone would he. OMG Im actually crying here and no idea if I should speak withhim about this or not. I trust him with my entire life, and if I flag this up it may break a seal in our trust if its completely innocent. Help!

Oh new, huge :hugs: From what you have said, he seems to care alot about you, Joshua and George, and wants to spend time with you all, so it would seem very odd if there was someone else.... :( And also very silly to leave the search so easy to see especially when he could have looked on his own computer elsewhere and it never be seen, which makes me think/hope there must be a simple explanation.... xx

I'd mention it, I couldn't not but however I felt, I would probably only be able to ask in jest even if it wasn't. xx

New- My gut tells me there is no one but you- and I think he may be looking at rings just as a sign of commitment and to tell others to back off, not necessarily that he wants to push marriage- My hubby and I wore rings from 2 months into our relationship, just as a symbol

Wiggler- we use smoked Gouda around here- it is wonderful on a sandwich with salami! I also save up the ends and toss them in with potato soup for a YUMMY smoked creamy flavor!

:hugs: new could he have been looking for a friend? If he was he probably wouldnt of thought twice about using your computer or trails. I'd say ask him but I doubt its anything devious:hugs:

new - I also think the simplest explanation is that he's looking for a friend. It might have also been a curiousity thing? Maybe he hopes he can change your mind on the not marrying plan? I think it would have been REALLY weird if there was someone else and he was looking at rings at your place.

mmm, all this cheese talk is making my mouth water.. now I'll have to go get a snack, lol. Feta is also great sprinkled on some pizzas :)

Daniel's appointment went great.. he did great with his shots. the doc wasnt worried at all about his fontanel... its still open, its just small and as long as his head keeps growing, its fine. we also got a referral for tongue tie and got it snipped.
12lbs 6ozs and 23 inches :)

Thanks ladies, i cant sleep my head is all mushed up :( I know I have to ask him for my own sanity, but Im so worried about the answer.

Lisa great news about Daniels appt hun! Hope he will feed better for you now xxx

Lisa- how did they snip it? whats the recoup time? it must be a huge relief to know his nursing will get easier! One of my girls never latches properly, even with a bottle- now I'm wondering if that may be the issue...

Both girls are colicky, still battling thrush, going through ANOTHER growth spurt and just generally pissy. It is horrid hot in our condo, which is not helping. And the seem to only scream when Daddy is gone. Some days I have myself convinced they hate me!

OH has a cold, sooooo hoping Sam doesn't get it. :( xx

New, I think he has fallen in love with his new family and is feeling like he'd like to make a commitment. I know it isn't something you've decided on but I really believe that's the case.

Lisa, hope he heals quickly!

If she doesn't stick her tongue out much, or if the tip of her tongue goes heart-shaped at any point, it could be a sign of tongue-tie. Not only does it cause latching issues but it can cause speech problems later in life. If they have to fix it later, they'll need to be put under for it.
Since your girl was a premie, is it a latch issue or a suck issue? I've heard premies often have trouble with the suck reflex?
To treat the tongue tie at this age, they numb the area, then just go in with scissors and snip it. There's a bit of blood, then they have you feed them right away and check back in a few minutes, make sure the bleeding has stopped and then you're fine to go and thats it.. it heals super fast.

Did the feed feel any different for you after hun? i remember someone on Blossoms thread saying something about tongue and feeding probs, so I had every midwife check him before I left lol He was checked at birth for me, again on the ward, again by the dr and again before discharge, I wanted to be sure i was going home to find this problem.

24 I hope OH is feeling well soon, hope Sam doesnt get it hun :hugs:

I knew all the problems tongue tie can cause and was paranoid about it too.. I had him checked by an LC at the hospital.. by the nurse who visited my house, by the LCs at the group they have each week in town, and by the LC specialist in town... all of them said there was no tongue tie or it was really subtle and not enough to cause problems.
Feeding is dramatically less painful now and its probably just pain from residual damage or possibly a lazy latch as he learns to use his tongue right.
Even the ENT doctor today at first check said there was only a little bit there to snip, then he probed deeper and said there was a lot more than he thought  Guess mine was subtle? The only reason I questioned all those other opinions was that he finally stuck his tongue out far the other day and the tip of it went heart-shaped. That plus the painful latch meant there was a bit of tongue tie.

OH said no way has he looked at wedding bands, all he looked at was cuff links (I saw him looking at them - they not on the recent search list) He said leave the list as it is he'll try explain it, maybe its something he came across. He has taken the morning off work and is coming now to give me a hug. He then sent me a text saying, 'Im all yours babe, now and always' I hope Im not being naive xx
