hi--just wondering where the best place in London to go for Recurrent MC testing? Privately
I live in N.Ireland and I dont think there is anywhere in Ireland at all so if the worst comes to the worst im going to go to London...just have no idea where is the best place to go..thanks

sorry didnt want to read and run like Everyone else x

I dont know of any places in London as im from Scotland x

I have no idea hun sorry, cant you get it sorted through ur gp?

Hi,

Not sure where the best place is - however I went to the Lister hospital and then Portland hosiptal.

The consultant I went to see was Paul Armstrong and he is a consultant that specialises in MMC and my Dr recommended him as he seems to cover loads of procedures. You could prob google him.

Once you make an appointment (he will see you in a couple of days literally) and then do bloods and stuff in less than a week for you and your partner and then depending what he suggests will depend on the time scale I guess and what procedure will suit you guys best .....

Hope that helps you - however this is the only place I have gone to so I dont know if anywhere is any better :hugs:

I'm currently having testing done at St Marys hospital in London, its Lesley Regan's recurrent miscarriage clinic and its supose to be the best in the country, google it and you will see lots of info on it. Good Luck hun.xxxx

Hi Brillbride
I live in N. Ireland and also went to St. Marys R.M.C. in Paddington. Good Luck.
x

thanks girls --il have to look into going to st marys --i think thats were most people from N.I go..thanks girls..xx

patboy--did ur GP recommend it or did you go on your own bat!! did you bring your files and things or did you just land over? thanks.x

I had read about this clinic on a few websites mostly excellent reports and did a little research. I had to get referred by a consultant not a doctor. I got my referral letter at the Royal when I was in for my scan during my 3rd miscarriage knowing the news was not going to be good.

St. Marys usually see you within 6-8 weeks I was seen within 6. I went NHS not private. The private list was longer which is why i went on the NHS waiting list. They will tell you what tests to get done here. Any other questions let me know. X

thanks patboy --just one more thing--you only went to London once and then your tests were carried out in Belfast --is that right?
thanks again..
I went to the Royal with my last (2nd) MC.x

I went 3 times!!! Normally it is just once to give blood....... but because i had no AF since the M/c (my cycles have become so irregular) they wanted me back a second time to give another set of bloods. Then for my results i had a phone consultation but i couldn't hear/understand the doctor over the phone so i booked another flight to meet him the following week. Glad i did as i had lots of questions for him!!

Thanks Patboy---def going to look into it--thats handy that you only have to go over once. At least you know now what you need to take when pregnant again---best of luck to you..xxx
