They say after 6 months but some jars from 4 months onwards contain meat so not entirely sure? Sorry I'm not much help, I started introducing meat about 5.5 months with both mine x
i had the same question last week hun, i have tried to find out but cant find anywhere that actually doesnt give conflicting answers, hope you find out soon
It is confusing! everywhere says something different. HV said 6 months for white meats like chicken and fish and 7 months for beef and lamb. But like others have said - jars contain meat and they say 4 months+! I feel like poor erin must be getting so sick of the veg combo's I keep giving her.
I dont think before 6 months is a good idea as digestive system still developing. You have plenty of time to get him onto meat - a lot of bab's wont eat meat until way past 6 months anyway as they dont like the taste. I would go cautiously as LO is still so young. Maybe just baby rice and banana is ok for a while. No need to rush things, milk is the main source of nutrients still at that age x
Firstly, the baby wont get "bored" of fruit or veg as they have nothing to compare it to. Annabel Karmel is fab for ideas, google for her website. I didnt wean my daughter until 6 months, as per the guidelines and she had meat from 7 months.
I probably won't be giving meat until after 6 months. She's loving the veggies at the minute and i started weaning early so i don't want to rush her into eating meat. I agree though it's really hard to find a definate and concise answer with regards to when it can be fed. xx
P.s if your stuck on recipes i do have some on a file that i have been e-mailing people, there is a thread on it but it may be some pages back. If you would like a copy pm me your e-mail and i will gladly send you a copy. xxxx
